  1. Thanks for the reply! Looks a good deal. Less than half the price of MS too! Cya Rich
  2. I have been refurbing my Lunchbox. The standard kit servo saver is PANTS!!! It has play within itself, play on the servo splines (Acoms servo). My Hornet suffers the same affliction too and neither car has seen a massive amount of use. Is this: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/trick-bits-kimbro-servo-saver-large-23-24-25-/rc-car-products/1612 a suitable replacement? My concerns are with the dimension between the holes where the steering links hook in. Not so much a problem with the lunchbox but the Hornet links are less adjustable. What do other people use? Cheers, Rich
  3. The copper looks nice. I have colour issues too and its made worse by the fact that I hate to do box art, esp stickers (not just the Hornet ones - ALL stickers!!!) so whatever colour / s I use have to look good on their own. I mostly get it wrong!!! Rich
  4. Mmmm quite.liking the green surprisingly. I really like the blue one though - what colour is that?. Looks really retro. Mine is metallic red and it really was a bad choice! Rich
  5. Bumper is definately heavier than the original but not really enough to make much difference. The best way to add weight would be to use stick on1:1 wheel weights in the front of the chassis. I did this on my Hornet and it definitely helped with front end grip. The biggest problem though IMO is the lack of weight at the back end. Not really anywhere to add weight directly over the rear suspension without raising the centre of gravity and making the car unstable, albeit in a different way to before! I don't think it will ever handle particularly well and accept that. I love them for what they are. FUN FUN FUN Here is a pic of my Hopper after a splash of silver I really should get round to ordering the tyres for the grey front wheels. Starting to have thoughts about lowering it quite alot and seeing how that turns out. I'll see.... Oh yeah.....the radshape bumpers are sub zero cool! Just don't hit anything with them as they are solid and the front of the chassis will likely disintegrate. They do black ones aswell but were out of stock on those when I ordered mine last week. Mine is the shorter version btw. Rich
  6. I liked it all black too but i have a subaru brat that is going to be all black. The hopper now has some greyish silver on it and grey super champ wheels. Need to order the tyres for the front wheels though. Will post more pics up later.... Rich
  7. Hmm I have a TA01 chassis in bits under a bed. I know what to do with it now..... Rich
  8. No i went satin black in the end. Its getting some silver on it later to lift it a bit. The black on its own is a bit much really especially with the grey wheels. Need to get tyres for the ftont rough rider wheels and also some more masking tape..... Rich
  9. Dunno how I missed this build! I have (well my son does!!) a Blackfoot Extreme. Really tough truck. I have it set up as front wheel drive at the mo. Just want to run it like that to see how much it differs from the rwd. i have often thought about 4wd, 4ws but never got any further than thinking about it!! Excellent thread and great pictures! I love the new narrow stance and am very keen to hear about how it handles. Rich
  10. This is the cammo green and matt black scheme. Hard to make out in the pic but the side panels are black, bonnet and roof are green.
  11. Hopefully you can see some pics now! Think I am going to add some silver to the rear spoiler and where it comes to a point on the side of the body. Also silver spot lights and add the driver. Rich
  12. I cant seem to upload pictures any more Keep getting this message next to the 'attach this file' button: You can upload up to Uploading is not allowed of files (Max. single file size: 2MB) Worked OK yesterday????? Rich
  13. Hmm didnt realise the fav wheels are bigger than the grasshopper. Gotta order the correct front tyres now. Got brat tyres for the back. Also got to add some colour. All black is too much I think...
  14. I remember that thread! Always struggle to put threads to names. You inspired me to get my Scout! The matt laquer looks very effevtive!
  15. Nice! Those wheels look great. I think i would leave them on there. Rich
  16. I think i may go get some of that humbrol varnish. I have a lexan brat shell and a toyota fj that will never look right with that lexan shine. Thanks for the tip Mr Crispy!
  17. Hopefully there there will be a pic of the Lunchbox coming soon. Not sure whether to leave it as is or paint in the lights, door handles, window trims again? Don't know if its worth the effort as it will be scratched up again on its first run out! Rich
  18. Good call! Day glow isn't really my bag to be fair (went off the whole concept once all my florescent socks wore out!)
  19. Hi. For ages i was goin to get a hot shot but due to wanting parts for my other cars etc, i cut back my new car spend, went back to basics and got me a grasshopper. So far i have bearings, grey fav wheels, radshape bumper. The shell is painted army green an matt black but may go more stealth with a combi matt and satin black scheme. Will wait and se how it runs before i order anything else. Quite interested to see what its like with the dinky motor!! Hopefully some pics to follow..... Rich
  20. I now have an army green lunchbox with matt black bumpers and side bars (cut the exhausts off!) and aatt black and green grasshopper. May go all black on that though using satin and matt...... Really nice paint to use! Rich
