  1. thanks, i have found some on tamiyabase but ideally i want some without any branding and high quality suitable for possible printing. Glyn
  2. Hi All, are there any sites that have high quality scans of Tamiya boxart, also are there any that has the FULL box, ie with the edges so the picture is essentially a cross with the sides part of the image? Thanks
  3. I would love someone to call me up like that, i really would! Plenty of stories of other people firing up virtual machines for the 'support' guy to look at, pretending to be totally dim (ie misspell the website/etc)...
  4. hence why i use adblock with google chrome, reduces a LOT of these ad sits and works well. And i never click on the ads anyway, so no loss!
  5. likely user error. The smart tray needs the battery connectors to be a specific way as well, otherwise smoke/etc will occur. so you cant just use the -ve pole, you need to ensure the battery connectors are also properly aligned (the instructions dont specificy this very well) anyhow http://www.teamnovak.com/products/info_upd...Tray_update.htm
  6. Appears to have taken offence with one set of batteries, smoke, red hot contacts and smoke.. splitting the pack seems to have worked, individually they are all ok, so rich, can i borrow your saddle pack gizmo and offer some pennies if you have any connectors to rebuild the pack to something better than it was... grrr
  7. Found an old psu from something, 12v, right polarity. the discharger says 0.2A and this gives out 0.5, but all works and turns on. just need to charge batteries up as the discharger didnt appear to work, but i did run the cells twice so maybe they are quite low, will need to see and have a play to see.
  8. Hi All, recently won this on the bay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_500wt_1156 , however it needs a 12v source, now apart from a car battery, is there anything else that could power this? rather than needing to dig out the 12v convertor used for camping and buy a ciggie lighter/wire to wire it up?? ta also any tips on how to use this?
  9. i have vapextech for the bashers, they work well, have plenty of punch and were not that expensive for the quality imo. all depends on your needs. for serious racing/etc i would not use them, for an hour or so blat in the local park/etc they are well worth it, however LIPO is becoming cheaper and apparently far superior...
  10. Does anyone have a list of how many of each screw is needed? I tried counting earlier but wondering if anyone had a list that they know is correct
  11. As subject, std bush devil, are there any cheap/easy ways to get the steering to work! it turns, but with a VERY big circle, and IIRC this is a common issue ta
  12. the stock ones IIRC work reasonably well, its when they get worn (the metal wears the plastic quickly) that they get loose and fall out. So if you want to run, use the std ones and keep and eye for the upgraded ones. i have the thorpe on mine, a HUGE improvement from slightly work std items
  13. Depends how original. However the ESC has so many benefits over an MSC its a no brainer, the biggest is once the battery runs low you wont get the servo sticking and having the car runnning away
  14. you should get yourself a blog http://www.blogger.com may be easier for you rather than posting on her?E
  15. What glue do you all use for gluing your sponge tyres to the wheels? specifically mardave? just wondering if ther eis a preferred one!
  16. Just Re-done one of the packs and it re-peaked at 4878, too much of a coincidence for it to not be the same one as last time Will do the other one tomorrow and can pass back Biggus' gadget
  17. yup, jut ordered a charging lead so i can charge directly (see if the extra connections are causing the odd charging issue). your Zero-V has been well used, each pack had a good 3 or 4 cycles, may pop it on again once more for good luck may have to forget to bring it on tuesday
  18. Another question on these. I have 2 5000MAH 4 cell packs, recently been Zeroing them (ta biggus!) and getting some false peak charges when doing so. Anyhow, today managed to get them on the Zero-V, removed not long after the 'lights' went out and then charged them (once they had cooled a bit!) One went to 4748 and the other 4878, so 252 and 112 mah less in them that the battery should hold. Is this something to be concerned about? The cells are not 'named' from what i can see, but provided by a reputable shop.
  19. the main feature is that t is not just V12 or oval. it is all mardave kits
  20. Thought i would see if anyone has any racing blogs or know of any interesting/funny/informative ones that they read that may be good to share? Heres mine, dont know if it fits in any of the three above but hey MArdave specific, includes stuff about connections, racing, and whatnot! www.mardaveforums.com/blog so if you have any post here with a bit of info about it.
  21. the new receiver looks better, but the binding probably wont be an issue unless you have multiple transmitters and need to rebind? unless there is more to it? just dont lose your binder plug!
  22. Quick one, the Etronix radio i bought <6 months back is now old and outdated and they have a replacement, the difference being the new one is fhss and the old one dsss Now apart from the concern that in X months/years they will discontinue the dsss receivers, essentially rendering the kit useless if i want more receivers or if what i have breaks, is there any difference in real terms between them both? googling reveals a lot of Airbourne forums that go very technical, but is there any real world difference for the bloke on the street? I must say, i am a bit peeved, but then again, if they decide to sell off the old technology receivers cheap it may be a chance to bulk buy!
  23. ta all. They are in saddle pack at the Moment (ie |||| rather than == ) is that what you need? i may just run them down as much as possible tonight, then run the discharger to take the remaining out as much as possible then charge them up from there. may help?
  24. Hi All, i got a discharger for xmas http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=30039 and have noticed it appears not to actually fully discharge, only half. I have 2 5000Mah 4 stik NIMH packs, 1 4600 6 cell and 1 3300 6 cell. The discarger works, but once it has beeped to indicate all is done, i get only 1/2 of the pack back in when charging before it peaks? I did one 5000mah pack earlier, and only got about 2700 back in when charging, now this isnt right and when the batteries are partially used i get more in? so is there a problem with the discharger or is it a known issue? I bought it so i could discharge the partially used cells, however it doesnt seem to be doing it!
