Lol Chunky for off road!! -
Yeah i know.... The re re ones can be used i think? Unless you are restoring to full vintage then you need to find those... @ Matman Thanks! The battery holder is a cheap upgrade.. Rc junkies yup!! hahahha...

A little update on the hotshot. Bought some new re-re rims. They are too white & didn't match the fronts. Only to find out later i had some new in package ones sitting in the shelf hiding.. Installed the new rims & tires. I had some front ones that i know of. Totally forgot about the rear ones.. New battery holder from crp.

Vintage Hilux rebuild removing the old paint...
Cooltoys replied to Cooltoys's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Thanks TomEG Hopefully it turns out nice. Still have to clean the body again so all the blue will be gone.. After the cleaning i don't even have to sand anything on the body. Its back to original plastic finish. @Rchunter I'll check the name again of the label. Last time i saw the container the label name melted too.. -
Another where to start question on a Rough Rider

Keep the old shell as most say. That's what i do to all my tamiya's Keep all of them in same paint job as i got them. Unless its really bad then i would fix it. Especially with the re-re body readily available.. Buggy looks to be in great shape. Keep & repair the old rear cage & make another one.. Nice to see the buggy have the old paint job you had since before.. Those are the ones you can never get back.. -
I think those are the only ones available for now that i have seen. Both are pretty good. I will make some sometime soon. Nothing fancy though..

Q. How do you know when you have too many models ?
Cooltoys replied to Percymon's topic in General discussions
When you have a project & needed some wheels. After receiving the parcel you find out there is a set on one of the boxes stored complete with tires too. -you need a few shelves to put all your extra tires & rims -when you have 10 same kind of blackfoots around. same with the srb's... - -

Sand scorcher build with ball differential
Cooltoys replied to Cooltoys's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Thanks Badboy! Had an aluminum junfac chassis for this build. Forgot to install the rear underguard by awesome alloys. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to buy one of his great chassis.. Got it assembled with no problems.. Front end. Have to change the front post. Put in the wrong one.. Sitting beside its original brothers.. -
Built the ball diff for the Sand scorcher finally. Its going to be a runner when its done.. I was planning to put ball diffs in all the srb i have..
-
The melted rubber bags looks very familiar.. Same as the hotshots that i have... Nice find.. Only a few bits missing or to be replaced & a good cleaning it should be all good..
-

Great deal! Its a classic.. Looks pretty complete.. Just a little work on it.. -
I have an RC book which shows almost all of the tamiya rc's.. So fun to look at all of them..
-
Still need a few parts... Email me again for an update..
-
You hotshot looks great based on what you started.. It looks to be a different chassis? Nice brushless on it.. How does it run? :-)
-
Got a Hotshot 1 in very nice condition. Price was too good.. Some 2.2 imex tires for my trucks, Rc10 body..
-
Yup, it was a surprise find in this condition.. I'll clean it up a bit. I guess its gonna be a shelfer again..
-
Found another Hotshot. Now i am familiar a bit more regarding this model after researching & Thanks for the info from the Tamiyaclub guys.. Hotshot 1. Used model. Original plan was to make it into a parts car for the other one i got not so long ago.. When i opened the box. I was surprised by the condition. Lightly used a few scratches on the bottom. Pretty complete except for a few pieces. Tires are are still like new very little wear.. Turns out this is even in better condition than the other one.. Nice melted rubber bag on it.. It comes with a bumper.. The other one i got is missing it. Rear pic

Wild willy chassis

I think the tires are for a kyosho buggy 3rd pic?
-
Thanks Simondo! Would love to see the super shot resto too.. @ KALEI63 Got the stand from a buddy of mine sitting in his shelf. I'll ask where he got it from. @Commiedoor pm sent.
