As you will see in the pictures, the Testors "Ruby Red" almost looks black on all bars-plastic and alu ones. It was the closest thing to red enamel that I had at hand. Still, it doesn't look totally off. I am liking the project, now only missing the silver detail. I never liked the original rear tires, so while I still have the orig ones, I like to use the old Scorcher paddles for this one. Also, in the future I plan to change the driver's colors for both, clothes and helmet. I'll let you see how it turns out. In the meantime here you have some pictures of the car:
And you know, I really like the quality of the MCI decals. It's only that sometimes you have to keep your eye on them. I thought their Gumout decal was a bit off, so I used instead Budweiser bowties for the sides. Also, see what's wrong with the "GO FOR IT" decal. If you've never seen the original decal you'll probably won't notice how different it is.
I'm using a black bumper that @beefmuffin sent me years ago. It is not original, but it is still in tune with the buggy. You guys know the original is not really black.
Still, I am smiling, it took me LONG to reach this point, and I believe the car looks decent at last
Thank you @Cooltoys
Awesome work on the superchamp... Nice to see it all done.

Congratulations on the find. I found one of those awhile back luckily it wasn't expensive. Around $10.00 unused part like the one you have. I never thought of finding one of those by chance there was one for sale just sold a bumper as I remember.. Happy to find it..🙂

C`mon Nellson. Share some pictures of the wide Super Champ with us when you can
Totally forgot it came with a really messed up body that i just fixed up a little. Can't seem to throw it away...

I love that solid aluminium ingot look the SC/FB has. My original never had a diff fitted, back then I didn't know why a diff is a good thing, so mine used to twitch the rear end through corners. A Super Champ with a diff must be some else entirely.
Your lucky to get a super champ as a first RC I could only look at it at the hobby shop... Thinking when can I have one of those..
The first superchamp i got is a really wide version with no body.. I was so excited to finally get one of them. Found out the body was hard to find in good shape....

The Marui range is awesome imo, I’ve just recently picked up a samurai that is in need of some attention that I will get to at some point
I might do that option. I'll take a closer look on the other one see what can be done.. I had a samurai at one point but sold it to somebody.. didn't have any marui rc before was more into tamiya that time.. The land cruiser I kept since we had one of those before..

Erich nice to see you work again on restoring a big bear. I never had one of those before but for some reason had a new interior piece that i gave to someone who was fixing one up..
I'm sure this will look really nice again after the restoration.. waiting for the updates ..😀😀

I have another one of these i got a longtime ago but haven't done anything yet. Body is not as nice as this one..

Car looks to be in great condition bodywise. I discovered some damages and repairs while cleaning it up the other day.
Suspension mount piece was replaced with a metal piece. Front shock mount has a crack.
Comparison pics left and right.

I have the brother of that blue body there, and still no inspiration to get through with it. I've to order the decals from our Canadian friends yet. Not sure mine will be blue. Anyway, I'll be checking your progress on this one. The Super Champ will always be one of my favorite RC buggies!
I'm sure someday you will have the inspiration to build it. This one would probably be a different color haven't decided yet for now.🙂
Packaged screws are open...

No work
Got into a bad accident a year or so already.
Keeping ends to meet.
Might end up selling some of the remote control toys to survive.
On the bright side I still have lots of work to fix up the rc here.
Lunchbox, srb's, blackfoots to fix up...

I still have my first rc frog fortunately. Gone through a new chassis since it was driven through by a bicycle and cracked the front part of the chassis..
