19% - You enjoy racing but are still grounded in reality.
I'm still sane, which is quite surprising.

I see what you mean. I think it has something to do with it's surroundings, which makes it seem bigger or smaller. I experience this with my Wild Dagger truck. One day it seems big and impressive , the next, not so much.
He-hey! We're both loonies![8)]

I only put one wide rubber band in between where the bevel gears mesh on the big gear (don't know the name) and this stops any movement without putting any real stress on the case. What's more, using a rubber band allows a small amount of slip which helps when cornering, but still gives greater traction.

I just stuffed a thick rubber band into my rear differential, and that works well. Also, you can easily take it out again, with no mess.

Hi
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could fit a 7-cell hump pack battery onto a Wild Dagger without modifying the chassis too much? Any help would be great!

Ok, thanks guys. I'm gonna get a refund for my LRP and buy a decent Sanyo!

No offence, but are you sure that it is not your car's gearbox? Maybe it needs re-greasing, as there is not any reason why your motor should squeal, unless the bushings or bearings are shot, but as it's a new motor, then... maybe it is too fast and your gearbox can't take it. Hope this helps

Hi all
I have been using an LRP Sportpack 2100 battery in my wild dagger, and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then one time when fast-charging it, I could feel only one of the cells getting very hot. At that point, even though I was using a peak-charger, I disconnected the battery and tried it.(It was due to be just about charged anyway). However, the car moved only slowly[
]. So, I sent the battery to be replaced and got a new one, but 2 weeks later (today infact) the same happened again.[
!]Does anyone know why, or are LRP batteries dodgy?
Any help would be great.

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy Clodbuster Tires in the UK? I'm going to mount some Clod rims and tires on my Dagger using a techinique I read about. The tires should make it much more monster-truck like.
Any help would be appreciated!

Oh, something just remembered - you can buy the transmitter alone for £9 (yes, £9) and the reciever alone for £21 from www.modelsport.co.uk.
Maybe this helps. Also, I have had problems with this setup, but I later found out that it was my pants MSC messing about.(Still have not upgraded it yet!)

Well the radio that I have is the Acoms Techniplus 2 set. It comes with Transmitter, Receiver and 2 standard servos (which are actually pretty tough). I use it with my Wild Dagger and although it only has the basic features (Ch.1 and 2 trims, servo reverse switches, interchangeable crystals, batt. meter and BEC), it performs well enough. The set is £40 and you can get it from many places including www.rccarwarehouse.co.uk (assuming you are in the UK). Hope this helps.

Just had an idea - try shifting weight to the back somehow. Perhaps add plasticene or something to the rear, or something. that might stop the nose-diving and shouldn't affect speed much.

With the stock motors, making the Wild Dagger do jumps is a no-no. I have a Dagger too, and I've had it for about a month. It's a great truck with oodles of torque and power, but and as durable as the truck is (I have had serious crashes with it and broken nothing) it simply is not fast enough to take jumps and the sheer impact of smashing nose-first into the ground is enough to break any truck! Really, the only way to prevent this is to install the optional 20-tooth pinion gear which will give more speed. However, if you have money, then buy some faster motors and an ESC that can cope, something like an LRP F1 Pro. Increased speed will stop the nose-diving hopefully. However, in my experience, it is a very tough truck.
Hope this helped

Anyone?

You could also keep the motor wires from the mechanical speedo where they are and solder the wires from the ESC onto the mech speedo where the original motor wires are attached. You will have to disconnect the resistor etc. from the speedo and keep the board itself on the truck so that it acts as a connector (if you see what I mean), but this weighs hardly anything anyway and it at least means that you do not risk messing the ESC up. Hope you understood that!

If it is a sealed bearing set, you should not have to grease them at all because they will have permanent internal lubrication.
Hope this helped mate

Hi, does anyone know where I can buy aluminium/carbon fibre parts for the Wild Dagger? I live in the UK so they must be able to be shipped to the UK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.[8D]

I've looked at the Trinity site, and it does not even mention original Speed Gems, unfortunately. I would guess that they have bushings, but I can't be sure. Sorry!

www.towerhobbies.com do most motors, and for a good price. Shipping to the UK is not too expensive, it takes about 4-6 weeks unfortunately. I cannot find Speed Gem 2's anywhere else in the UK so this is a US site. Hope this helps.
By the way, WillyChang, Speed Gem 2's definitely have dual bearings, I checked.

Hi, I'm a beginner and I would reccomend the Wild Dagger. It's simple to put together, and is a cross between a stadium truck and a monster truck - and it has tons of power thanks to twin motor 4WD. It also looks great, is easy maintainence and is an excellent price for the stock kit - £120. Of course, it's fully upgradeable.[8D]

One excellent ESC is the LRP F1 Pro Reverse Digital. At £80 it is £50 cheaper the the Super Rooster, but has an excellent spec:
Continuous Current draw - 55 amps
Momentary Current Draw - 270 amps
No motor limit
2500Hz Drive freq.
Has Reverse
Intelligent Braking Circuitry
Multi Protection System
And more...
It drives an absolute dream on my Wild Dagger!
