  1. Sorry Guys! [:$]

As you all by now know its Sunday 18th Feb. I was in a rush when I wrote the date earlier, sorry once again for any confusion??

Thankyou Allie for sorting it out all over again with everyone!  (I did get the 12-noon bit right!!  [;)] )

I hope to see you all there! Remember to bring any vehicles that you have to trade? I will be bringing a nice Sonic Fighter Buggy. Its ReadyToRun and includes its good condtion kitbox too. Makes a great 'Runner'.

Oh, and just another thing,  All of my vehicles will be running on the yellow 27mhz X-Tal.

Don't forget a flask and sarnies!

      Laters, Dunk

  2. Hi Folks, Happy New Year to everyone! [;)]

Right then, The Next Reading Bash (The 1st of 2007) will be on SUNDAY 17TH FEB  [:)]

At the same time as always, and the same place (12-Noon, Tennis court carpark) Please note that the carpark gets quite full because of the football players...

If your thnking of coming for the 1st time? You will be able to get directions from an earlier page in this link. Or feel free to email me (duncanwiddows@aol.com)

As Reading Bash regulars know all-to-well,its a harsh environment for RC cars over the woods. So make sure that every nut and screw is done up tight on your vehicles, or they will fall to bits!! Trees also have a habit of getting in the way too  [:'(]  So its a good idea to leave your best 'ShelfQueen' at home!

I'm thinking of trying to add a bit of swapping/trading of vehicles to the Reading Bash meets, so perhaps lets start with actual vehicles rather than spares etc..  So bring any vehicles that you'd like to swap and maybe someone will have just the thing for you? (Everyone loves a trade, right?!! [;)])

  3. Hi Folks!  Sorry that its been a long time coming, the next ''Reading Bash'' will be on the 15th Oct at 12-noon in the tennis court carpark.

If your new to this?, see directions on earlier pages of this topic. [;)] So start charging those batteries and making sure that your vehicles are screwed together tight!

Please feel free to invite other members who may not be aware of our meet-ups, its always great to see new faces etc..

    Cheers, Dunk.

  4. Hi Folks,

Right then, the next ''Reading Bash' will be on Sunday 14th May '06.  Meet up as before in the tennis court carpark at 12 noon.  I hope to see all of the regulars and perhaps a few new faces this time too? Many thanks to Allie (petrolhead) for providing the overhead view of the woods,it should help any late comers to find where we are.. [;)]

Directions can be found on earlier pages of this subject. Any questions? Just e-mail me, but please be aware that I will be on Holiday from the 21st April to 6th May. [:D]

May I suggest you tighten up your screws&nuts! (Due to the nature of the woods and after performing many jumps with your vehicle/vehicles,things often come loose!) Also charge up as many batteries as you own, as it's not really practical to use in-car chargers because of the distance from the carpark to the woods.

I would perhaps refrain from bringing any petrol vehicles to this meet. The noise seems to echo around the woods, and after all it is a public woods enjoyed by dog owners & families on walks etc... (We don't want any drama's do we?) [A]

    See you soon, Dunk.

PS. Please feel free to tell other TC members/RC mates about this meet.

PPS. Please make sure that you subscribe to e-mails about additions to this topic. (It saves me having to email everyone!)

  5. Hi Everyone, Right then the date for the next Berkshire area meet-up "The Reading Bash" is the 22nd January 2006. (This should give you time to build/prepare any new Xmas vehicles??) I hope that this is a suitable date ?

We will meet up as before at 12.00 in the Tennis court carpark before entering the woods. For those of you who didn't come last time, the directions are on page 2 of this topic. (Please reply to me at duncanwiddows@aol.com to let me know if you can make it or if you have any questions [?] )

I wish everyone a very Merry Xmas, and I look forward to seeing you all.

    Cheers, Dunk.

  6. Glad that everyone had a great afternoon. I'll certainly arrange for another 'Reading Bash' sometime soon. Can't say that the weather will be so good though! Love the movie, nicely put together Jeremy. And Stuart your pictures are 1st class mate. "Big Respect" to Alex for bringing and running his Bruiser, (a very brave lad considering the standard of everybody else's driving!) [;)]

Also I must say 'Thanks' to jagsxr for bringing such a wide range of interesting vehicles to show everyone.

Nice-1 guys, look forward to seeing you all and hopefully some other members soon.

    Regards, Dunkman.

  7. Hi, Right here are some directions to help find your way to the Southern are meet up on Sunday 9th Oct 2005 at 12 pm.

Use a map site such as www.mutimap.com use the Advance Search option then search for; Fraser Avenue, Reading, and put RG4 as a postcode. (This will show you the exact location) Then just click on Directions and enter your address details as well as the ones above. You'll then get all the directions you'll need.[:D]

The carpark where we will be meeting up in BEFORE we enter the woods is approx 150 yrds FURTHER on down Caversham Park Road from the turning to into Fraser Avenue. It also is used by people using the Tennis courts. (So if you do get lost on the way you can ask someone for Caversham Park village Tennis courts) There is a HEIGHT RESTRICTION on the car park entrance, so don't use your Transit van to get here!

If you do have any problems with the above directions [?] Please e-mail me duncanwiddows@aol.com (Please Don't contact me through the Forums about directions or conformation about you're coming)

Please do email me to let me know if you are coming?, so I know how many people to wait for before we enter the woods.

Should be a great afternoon, and there is a local pub to go to after should you wish to? [;)]

    Cheers, Dunkman.

    Hi Dunkman,

Can I confirm if it is the 8th or 9th October? As in the email you put the 8th, which happens to be my Birthday! If it's on the 9th then it's more than likely I'd be able to come. I'd only be bringing a Fox and an XC if that's ok? Oh and my mini-pajero [:D]

  9. Hi Folks, Well I finally have the time to arrange the Southern Area TamiyaClub members meet-up! [:D] So, Sunday 9th October '05 at 12pm is the date and time I have in mind. The venue is a woods in North Reading Berkshire (See pictures in my showroom) Once I have had a number of you guys reply to me saying that you can make it? I'll then post the directions and all other important information. So do please e-mail me at duncanwiddows@aol.com as soon as you can confirming that you can make it. Then by next weekend I'll be able to post the directions etc..

Stuart and myself look forward to meeting you all, so come along and make this a wicked afternoon.[^]

    Cheers, Dunkman. [;)]

PS. I'll be running all my vehicles on Yellow (Channel 4) X-tals.

Directions are now on the 2nd page of this Forum Topic
