Hi All, I've had (and still on-going) a REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE with BANZAI HOBBY. The problems are still on-going but basically I've been RIPPED OFF. Banzai have never replied / communicated with me since the sale (i.e. taking my money), even the very first few and really, really polite emails I sent. Quite simply my problems are along similar lines and then further error actions. I ordered a number of kits in the Xmas/New Years sales thinking I was having them for around 40% of the UK shop price. - They hadn't got one kit in stock so they gave me a refund for it, but the kit money only, and refused to give a me refund for the shipping amount they'd charged me for it. - They stuck a full print off of all my personal details onto the shipping box for the whole world to see ncluding exact details and costs of my order, so H M Customs had a right laugh at my expense also. - And then, GUESS WHAT? When I opened my shipping box I was 1 kit short!! So I'd paid Banzai for 1 kit I never received. I'd paid Banzai for shipping on 2 kits never shipped. And to top it all off, due to Banzai paperwork, I'd paid H M Customs duty and taxes on 1 kit I never received. So my messages to Banzai got stronger after this point, I've sent Banzai around 10 emails to date, and quite simply to date NO ANSWER. So I've commenced a case with PayPal as a claim, as to date, no conclusion! PayPal have said they it has taken time to get a response from them! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE DECEMBER!! As a result, I would never recommend Banzai Hobby to anyone! I have bought from Stella and no problems!

Skip665, if you'd like to come please drop me a pm asap including your normal email address, thanks!

With the number we have going, there'll be plenty of time, space and opportunity to do as we wish, it just depends upon who brings what on the day. I don't know if there's a large number of big wheels being taken, but you can certainly there are a number of buggies, Slash's, Axials, C1's etc etc being taken. There will also be a couple of short time slots where no big wheels, for more delicate road going stuff during the day also, like TT01, TA01, F1 etc. so nothing gets smashed up stupidly. You've raised a very good point - you never used the M Chassis much. This venue specifically gives the opportunity to use such things and take them off the shelf! The Clumber Park meets normally have a dedicated wheelie race, take a look at the recent photos and video's! Drop me a pm if you want to come.

Just to add some more, we've just had a number of TC members giving firm confirmation of their attendance today, so we'll be having a great 'TC' meet up!

No. As I've tried to explain, the shopping centre has spent a lot of money over the last few years, so lots of improvements have happened, and are still on-going. The problems is that no-one on TC has been there for a few years, i.e. BEFORE the improvements, hence the reason for going again this time. In addition to the trackside portakabin(s), is the trackside steel container, both have lighting and power points. As JWeston has stated, whats the problem? We WILL have a great day out rc'ing, being no different to you going for a bash in your local woods or park!
-
The track is the same as the last TC meet, nothing has changed, BUT the rest of the shopping centre and surrounding area has had much work done over the last few years, making it a more varied family day out, so not just rc, massive Lego, Scalextric departments etc etc, plus now has added halls/area's such as gardening, pets etc. Unfortunately the grass area behind the track, which we used to use for buggies and high jumps, has sadly been built on! But theres still a small grass area at the bottom end of the of the track. Please keep in touch via pm, cheers

A number of us have got together and privately hired the tarmac Tamiya Racing Track at 'The Worlds Greatest Model Shop', Snetterton Park for the whole day on Saturday 1st March, 2014. PLEASE UNDERSTAND this not an official TamiyaClub meet, its a private group meet up only. We have limited places available but currently theres a number places going spare. Nearly all the people confirmed as going are TamiyaClub and/or IconicRC members, so you'll be with familiar and like minded people. The Snetterton venue is the same place where there were a few official TamiyaClub meets back in 2010, 2009 and before I think, so some of you will already know what fantastic facilities are there. HOWEVER, the shop and surrounding area has had lots of refurbishment over the last few years, so is now more appealing anyway! The track has covered pits area with mains power supplies! This is NOT an 'open' day where you just turn up on the day, you MUST be pre-booked in via me ONLY. It will be a relaxed and FUN use of the track to ourselevs all day, we're NOT racing properly, its a fun meet only! Whilst we maybe taking buggies and Lunchboxes or whatever, we're taking things we don't get use very often (cause its a smooth track) like F1 (I'm taking my Tyrrell P34), road/rally (TA01, TT01 etc etc), touring cars and trucks, tanks etc., all the stuff we can't use at our local park, making full use of the very smooth purpose built outdoor, tarmac track. We have one rule for the day - NO NITRO or PETROL, electric only! Where numbers permitt, we'll give a few minutes exclusive track use for those with more delicate road going cars, i.e. F1, motorbikes etc. We don't want them gettting smashed/squashed, so we'll have separate time slots where needed. If interested and would like to join us, please send me a pm asap. The cost will be £6 per person for the whole day. Sorry but I must repeat - this is a private hire arrangement, you cannot just turn up on the day. So please drop me a pm including your normal email address so I can give you full details asap!

Lee, it doesn't seem that long ago when another event next year was definitely not going to happen!! I'm VERY pleased to see that after the weekend you've done a U turn! I really hope that more people turn up next time. Well, maybe not, otherwise we'll be finishing at 9pm!!!!! all the best, Simon

I forgot to say and do loads on things on the day, I was too busy enjoying myself with the HB/SR racing!! (and not getting on so well with the modified/open class!). One thing I MUST say is - a BIG thank you to the bloke who had balls to put the event on in the first place. I know I gave him a hard time (occassionally!). I'm sure you will agree, big round of applause for SUPER GRIPPER (LEE DAVIES). His persistence paid off in the end!!
-
Grumpy Pants, you and anyone/everyone else are very welcome as a spectator, AND don't forget you can sell/trade stuff too! There is no charge for either of these. But I'm sorry to reconfirm that there is no option for you running any other car on that day, as the track is busy all day with DT-02's, and the school does not allow the rc club to use any rc stuff anywhere else within the grounds, other than the track only. But it would be great to see you and any else on the day! Come and find me (or Lee), your help will be very welcome! Thanks, Simon

YEH, ANOTHER FANTASTIC DESIGN AND COLOUR SCHEME!! Which reminds me! NEWS / UPDATE - with very kind support of FUSION HOBBIES and HUNTER SYSTEMS, we now have MANY PRIZES along this same rc cars/Tamiya theme, NOT just one the 'winner' but other placings too, plus CONCOURSE D'ELEGANCE prizes! I see many of you have already completed some fantastic designs! So bring it on! http://www.fusionhobbies.com http://shop.huntersystems.co.uk http://shrccc.co.uk/calendar/20130929/tamiya-dt02-uk-challenge.html

Hi Rich, I'm bringing most of a complete chassis (new spares) on the day, and I think Lee and maybe another is doing similar. Should keep us all going! Suspension arms and wheel hubs are always a good idea though. But please, if you've got it, bring it. Because if you don't, it will be that part that you need on the day! Bring various Xtals too (if you're using 40 or 27Mhz).
-
Oh, by the way, there is some kind prize for other than just winning! I wasn't going to say too much, but we''l have a Concour's winner when they're all out for photos. Its just good to have something from the day. I like tea! A good brown colour, half a sugar and stirred clockwise! I'll be very happy if someone give me one of those on the day!!
-
Oh yes, and I've just had confirmation from FUSION HOBBIES, they WILL be SPONSORING THE DT-02 EVENT where they are going to give prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the 2 classes. A BIG THANK YOU TO Joanne @ FUSION HOBBIES for this COMMITTMENT - A GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO OUR HOBBY! I know some of you have been buying your kits from FUSION, but can I suggest, the next time you need something you give them a try. Better still, CALL JOANNE @ FUSION HOBBIES on 01536 397467 and ask her if she can do you deal! Not forgetting they give 10% discount for all TC and IconicRC members also! I notice Fusion are stocking Carson stuff these days also, so some great hop-ups ('all terrain' wheel sets etc) for your DT-02!! See at the event, regards Simon

For my Holiday Buggy, I fitted the 3Racing brace on the 'rear' side of the front shock tower, this way it just squeezes under the body. For my DG, I fitted on the 'front' side, so the body fits under it easier.

I was using my RC10 B4 and Lunchbox ALL DAY yesterday, as there are no problems with the track. The track has been well used and pitted during this year, but the club are working hard to keep it in good condition, and the farmer works hard by looking after the surrounding areas.

THIS VENUE IS FULLY INSURED, which is one of the reasons there is a small payment to use the facilities for the day. You simply pay for yourself covering you and ALL of your rc vehicles for the whole day, you do NOT have to pay per car, per helicopter, per boat etc! This is a large multi-use venue where other areas are used for other things like - car boot, bonfire night, corporate events etc. HENCE the INCLUSION of comprehensive insurance for the public, visitors and facilities users. Please see DUSTON MILL on Facebook, there is a separate page for the RC facilities which INCLUDES - a track, open land (grass and gravel) and even a small river area for small rc boats!! There are contact details on the venues Facebook page if you have any questions, but quite simply, its a venue without 'strict rules', so its a very good safe way of park bashing, you do as you like!!

Hi, There is a fequencies text box with the booking on-line. I suggest you enter your preferred frequency next to each car/entry with each car booking. However, as there are likely to be many 27 and maybe 40Mhz entries, if you got other crystal sets, please bring them. Hopefully the pre-booking system will sort this out but there is a possiblity of frequency jiggling at the start (and maybe during) the day by Race Control for heats and then final. Although I'm using 2.4G I'll bring my selection of Xtals with me, it someone needs to borrow, but again I suggest you remove and bring all of your Xtals from your other rc cars, so you have a selection for the day. I would also suggest that as a minimum, having as many packs as you can, but atleast 2 battery packs per car. This way you can be using one, whilst another is charging. But again, if you've got them, bring them (and of course charge all of them before the day). I hope this helps, see you there!
