  1. I've just seen a NIB Violet Racer on Amazon for £49.99 + £4.87 P&P!! The seller is called CG1 Supplies and as far as I can tell, it includes all, i.e. the ESC etc. Cheap as chips!
  2. Hi All, If anyone's struggling to get their DT-02's to 'comply' with the rules of this competition, hence you are 'on the fence' / not comming simply because you believe your car does not technically comply, please just ask. I have numerous new and used parts that can help you, such as Tamiya Sport Tuned and other motors, PLUS some VERY CHEAP ECS's, PLUS many standard DT-02 parts. If you have modified your car so much that it doesn't comply with these competition rules, you can drop me a message to smitchos@btinternet.com . I should be able to help you enter the event. I'm NOT a gold-digger, I'm not here to make a profit! My parts are very very cheap or even FREE! IF you are NOT attending this rc cars gathering on the 29th of September, don't bother to ask. As these really really cheap parts are for genuine Tamiya enthusiasts, who are / willing to attend on this day only. Smitchos
  3. This event is a great idea! I've just seen the event post and booked into both classes. It looks like a lot of fun and good way of a gathering for like minded people. I'll dig out what cars/parts I have going spare, but I'm even more interested to see what others bring, which I might like to have! I'm looking forward to this 'fun' rc gathering/meeting (rather than attending a serious racing club!), its just a shame that there aren't more of these events throughout the year (as I'd definitley go!). Anyone else going?
  4. Hi All, I've been on the band-wagon of trying to help promote this event. I've had several (different) queries also, so here's some info / FAQ's that may help others. 1) The idea is along the same lines as the Tamiya Super Fighter Cup Series, but this is our more relaxed and simplified take on it. If many countries such as Germany and Japan do this, why shouldn't we? Google / YouTube this and take a look. 2) The first class is for 'standard' DT-02 2010 Holiday Buggy, 2011 Sand Rover and 2011 Street Rover’s only, with limited modifications so HOPEFULLY DOES NOT require you spend extra money. We envisage that if you own one of these cars, it probably looks like this already. This is the low cost budget / standard class. If you want to flex your wallet, or determined to use a heavily modified car, you're in the secondary 'open' DT-02 class (with the big boys!). The second class covers everything else DT-02, a very heavily modified HB/SR, Desert Gators, Sand Vipers etc etc., where the rules are more ‘open’ allowing many more modifications (if you like!) and more horse-power!! This cover ALL other DT-02 cars, whether standard / ‘modified’ or not. So if you have a standard Sand Viper etc, this class is for you. Your car cannot be modified so much that it is no longer recognisable as a DT-02 (see rules). If you have a Holiday Buggy or Sand Rover, and that you have made many changes over and above the HB/SR class rules, I suggest you dig out those old parts and put some back,so you're into the std HB/SR races. This is what I have done with my HB. 3) The rules say things such as 'motor cooling is permitted'. This does NOT mean that you have to have it, its your choice. I particualrly highlight this point as to the motors. Where the rules say any motor with '19 turns or more'. This does NOT mean that have to have a 19 turns motor, i.e. spend money. You can use anything as long as it has 19 turns or MORE, i.e. a Clash 23, Tamiya TechniPower, Tamiya Black Sprint etc. etc.etc. 4) Don't worry about the timing transponder mounting, SuperGripper has made some quick and easy fit brackets for your car. To be sorted out on the day. PS - ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING A HB (or anything else for that matter), CALL Joanne @ FUSION HOBBIES - SHE DONE ME A GREAT DEAL MY HB. Looking forward to a greta day out! Cheers
  5. Count me in - wherever it is! Last year's TC meet was great, and a great effort by all. It's a shame is was not very well attended. Looking forward to their being a date set, I suggest sooner (spring / summer) rather than later (August) this year, as last year, as in high holiday season, proved inconvenient for many. I'm also up for helping wherever I can. Please do'nt be afraid to ask! (sorry, I don't have a suitable venue to offer!) cheers Simon
  6. Hi Mark, I'm up for any 'retro' racing within a sensible distance (I live in the midlands area). I race at Hinckley regularly, both indoors (Quicksilver touring cars) and Retro Racers (outdoors buggies) - and I happen to own a couple of Meteors and a couple of Cobra's too! If you're thinking of the Hinckley club, the best person to contact is Jammer, who is a committee member there. I've suggested a Tamiya Club day before, but there wasn't interest. However, Mardave orginating from Leicester might be different. But whatever day out is organised, it needs people to actually go. I've been to a few TC meetings where I found the numbers of members attending very disappointing. This type of day out is always very good, and would recommend attendance to any TC member (lets face it, if you pay £13 a year TC subscription, you're interested!). I hope this idea gets off the ground and is well attended. If I can help, please send me a private email, and please let me know if the day goes ahead. Cheers Simon
  7. I've a Fighter Buggy for sale on Ebay right now, with 2 days of auction left. Currently the car is only £20 + £8.90 for P&P!! Its actualy being sold without speed controller and radio gear but if you're interested I can sell you those items too. I have the latest Tamiya ESC available, bought earlier this year so really nearly new which you can have for an additional £15. I also have old but working set of 27mhz radio gear (a Sanwa tranny, acoms receiver and a servo) for another £15 if you want. All you will then need is the Xtals, batteries and charger. I could sell you a set of 27mhz Xtals for a further £4 if you wish. If you bought the car and was therefore paying the P&P, there would be no additional P&P cost for the above. As for the batteries and charger I may be able to help you there too, as I have some old but cheap batteries and chargers too, but before we go any further, what do you think so far? Please take a look at my listings on Ebay, I'm Smitchos. Cheers
