  1. nihms will be ok wi the ezrun then?
  2. ah that helps a lot many thanks for taking the time, gone are the days of my 1400 NP tamiya packs eh lol are the balancers expensive? and is it a case of more expensive are more effective? dont like the sound of the burning inferno scenario tbh, really whats left to source is my motor.esc combo and possibly some lipo's and a balancer now... fek this is gettin expensive lol
  3. will they ever re release some of the touring car type models? i'd love to build up a collection of them even as shelf queens as some of em look awesome!
  4. thats class, what are the re release kits like? have they improved or changed anything? I always wanted a nice off roader truck like monster beetle/lunchbox/wild willy style vehicle, could be an affordable way of doing it
  5. sorry if i sound thick but know nothing of these things, whats a balancer? and if my charger doesnt have one can it be added to the charging process or what? also do you need to discharge these packs etc? or is there anywhere i can read up a basic guide? thanks Mark
  6. :D:D back to my childhood lol
  7. its not here yet but it has left germany goin by the tracking
  8. only noticing the crack now that you mention it... how blind am i and ezrun wise, they'll run ok on the batt packs i have in meantime till i can scoop the money for some lipo action?
  9. could ya not use a scale ruler to work the dimensions using the dimensions givin on the site and a sid eon pic etc?
  10. yeah it does seem more substancial in there have to say, it was fairly reasonably priced too so cant complain, if it fails i'll deffo go for the dearer uprated one. Spent an evening last week stripping both ta01's and picking the best/tidiest/least abused of the parts between them and set about cleaning everything up and leaving them to dry off in the hot press.... this evenin i reassmbled the car and it mostly went to plan and got everythin fitted fairly striaght forwardly... and it looks a bit cleaner and more presentable. but... (there's always a but) the rear suspension mount, the press in nut thingy, is just continuously spinning on me, wont tighten up, i take it that the original red mount is worn away and its not catching anymore and requires a new mount rather than new press in nut? i tried one new nut and same problem. Is there any better hop up alternatives or is the plastic as good as any?
  11. also confused about this myself, i jus spent the evening rebuilding my TA01 after a long time in the wardrobe. I was planning on buying an ezrun setup for it, but i've already bought x2 3800 NI-MH 7.2v packs and the ansmann racing Xbase deluxe... will these batt packs run the brushless setup ok? or with brushless do you really need the lipo? i only bought thes epacks to do in the meantime in the long term i hope to buy some good branded ones, but, will that charger charge LIPO? - EDIT just checked the spec, says it will charge LIPO so i have that option anyhows also, does the ezrun setup include a lipo cut off? so many questions lol, sorry for hijacking keith
  12. ah man that looks really really well!!! looks better than the kit version imo job well done!!
  13. Keiths built an awesome road going car, if as much attention to detail goes into this we'll have an excellent 100 page build thread on the go before long get some pics up of the nova build!! ha ha
  14. nah thats the lotus/vauxhall carlton you're thinking of, awesome car, think its my absolute ulitmate motor if i ever get the money together for one, but they still in around £20k for a nice one
  15. have to say that does look pretty mean!!
  16. yeah i wanna keep an eye out for a seperate body shell so I can do a replica of my 1:1 cav turbo would like a cali shell too at some point and replica my cali turbo aswell but think you can only get the touring car wide arch version?
  17. yeah i got a second hand shell there recently doesnt actually look as if it has been run on a car but hasnt been very well prepped and finished, badly cut, not brilliantly painted and decals beginnin to peel think i will build it, might have to wait a while for some radio gear before i run it though
  18. Well, i've pretty much all the bits gathered for my ta01 cossie rebuild for some performance bits and fun, stripped it all down and cleaned each part up a bit so once grease arrives i'll start the rebuilb but i have had a real urge for some new kits, old ones I fancided when i was young, further I have a cavalier turbo as my big car toy and wanted to do a replica perhaps from the opel vectra kit... tonight i finally managed to get one NIB complete car and shell kit for good money and its going out in the post in the morning i'm like an excited child lol now... do i build it as a shelf queen, run it, build it as a replica or btcc, or keep it NIB? also wat was this chassis like in general?
  19. yeah i was thinkin of summat similar wi an old bit of threaded bar/doyle rod
  20. well stripped the x2 ta 01 chassis's i have today, left all the plastics to soak and went to tescos and stocked up on cheap and cheerful toothbrushs and cotton buds and the likes, got tore in and spent *******in ages cleaning all the old grease etc but theyre lookin grand now just drying over nite, i'll pick thru the best lookin of the parts from both the kits tomorro also found my battery clip in my hoards of old lego which was nice, saves me buyin a new tray of parts just for that one!! only ****** is ebayer sent me thread lock rather than ball diff grease so thats gonna hold up the rebuild... one of my metal bearings isnt lookin too hot but found a spare aswell so shud be grand. Hopefully have it all sorted again in a few days and then just need to order my ezrun kit roll on pay day
