Because i havent sold my donor Blackfoot chassis i want to get rid for something different now. I haven't got the cash to buy a nib car so will look at trades. I have got a blackfoot chassis with some servo,s and the reveiver that it had on it. But it is generally good condition, i think the bits that are missing or could do with repair are the rear body mounts. I can pm pics i think i have got some somehwere.
I would really like a hummer
, obviously i wont expect a full runner, even a body and chassis will do, even just a rolling chassis. Im not into buggys but might consider other stuff but this chassis needs to go before i build another Blackfoot. Cheers people.

What model RX do you have ?
Some Acoms have the 0v pin on the outer edge, others the inner, the brown wire on Mtroniks ESC's is the 0v
Pardon me for being thick, when you say Rx i presume you mean receiver. Its an AR-2/40. Correct me if im wrong. I think the brown wire is on the outer edge yes.

You said after the first test you got the car to move forwards with the steering stick right ?
That implies that the ESC is basically working.
You need to recalibrate the ESC whenever you change something in the system (rx, tx etc, but not crystals)
The Mtroniks ESC's can also lose reverse occasionally, follow the setup instructions on the card to ensure reverse is enabled.
One other possibly daft question, what lead is plugged into which channel on the RX ?
Even when i have gone through the setup again it jerks sll four wheels like its reset itself then just goes back to a solid red light, which according to the leaflet that came with it says no signal but it must be receiving signal because when i swapped them round the motor turned.

Ive got it so that ch1 is the steering as its that on the handset and then ch2 is the esc.

Still the same, im starting to think my ESC is dead and im going to have to go back to the shop. The same happened on the other radio gear nothing moved apart from the steering and the red light is still on. Can these ESC's be reset?

Just tried the lads radio transmitter and still nothing. Both of them cant be faulty because i was running the Blackfoot this morning.

Transmitter problem
By the sound of the symptoms, your TX is in a bad way, what make & model is it ?
Im running with the gear i got with the kit deal. Its an Acoms Techniplus 40mhz 2 Channel setup. My lad has got the same with his blackfoot, im wondering if i swap the crystals and see if that one works???

OK, you say the steering still works ?
Swap the ESC & servo leads over & check the steering works on the throttle stick, that will prove that both channels of your TX are OK.
Right did that. Swapped the esc wires round so the forward reverse should do steering and vice versa, heres what happened.
Forwards and backwards stick did nothing, nothing moved,
Left on the steering stick made the car drive forwards, right did nothing.??????

Checked it again and still nothing. Checked the wiring, and thats ok as all the channels match with the receiver and transmitter wires. Battery is fully charged and the batterys in the remote are fine. I dont know where i have gone wrong. Stab at the dark but if i had fried the esc it would show signs wouldn't it? because it looks fine.

Iwill check this out in the morning guys as its late, but i cant figure out why its just started now as i havent changed anything since the last time i ran it. ght doesn't go green when i move the throttle stick although it will go into setup mode and then both lights come on and the wheels jerk a tiny amount as if to say we are set ready to run and then it goes back to red light and nothing happens.
ANNOYED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to run my gtr the other night and it wont respond to the transmitter. The batteries are fine and the steering servo still moves but the esc wont turn the motor. Its got power but i have a red light which suggests a signal problem but it was fine the other night when it was running. Its a mtroniks eco20 by the way, and its not running hot or anything like that its just not moving. Any ideas or known remedies please.? Thanks.

i would of done but i only had cash on me at the time and couldn't go all the way for rims aswell.

Finally got it sorted although my battery is dead so i cant say if they will stay on the rim yet. I had to boil some water and let the tyre soak then put the rim on the floor and pressed the tyre in with my knee till it popped and then put it in the freezer to shrink fit it. Here are some pics of before and after.

Has anyone fitted a set of drift tyres to there cars. I bought some drift tyres today, some hpi T-Drifts. They are a hard [plastic set and the instructions say to warm them up first vut i just cant get them to sit properly on the rim. They should fit because the rims match the profile of the lips on the tyres. Cheers people.

I have been looking for a while now at these crawler trucks, been on you tube and all that and i am really really getting into them now and i am desperately looking at getting one. The trouble is all i know about them is what i have seen on the videos and a bit of what i have picked up here, Tamiya cr01, axiall ax10, just to mention a couple of names. What i am wondering is can anyone point me in the direction of what kits are out there, whats the best make to go for, what have you got. Prices and radio gear costs are something i havent delved into yet either. Show me the light people please. I know its not tamiya but are these losi's any good compared to the tamiya crawlers or are they different ends of the scale?

Not sure if this everyones taste, but i really can appreciate lowriders (not in the snoop dog way though) im talking more of the engineering side of it. king at crawlers on you tube and this popped up so i thoughti would see if anyone has seen this or maybe got one themselves because i thought it was pretty good (again some mightnot like it).

A TLT-1 chassis should fit nicely up under the Blackfoot body and make a capable scale crawler. Wyoming's latest scale Land Rover creation is testament to that.
Where do i find this wyoming and some pics please?

I didn't think it would be a very good crawler. I think i might offer it up for a trade for something different. The only thing thats putting me off another blackfoot or monster beetle is the bodies and the costs of them. I dont know to much about these crawler trucks andi might look at them now. Cheers mate.
Any ideas for it people before i take the leap and offer it up?

I was supposed to be selling a blackfoot rolling chassis but they haven't got in conatct and i havent got payment so im keeping it, but im in a dilema. Do i:
1) Build another blackfoot
2) Build a blitzer beetle
3) Address you guys as to wether or not the chassis can be converted to a crawler spec type of truck? (No laughing)
4) Sell or trade?

Got a bit bored at work after running my blackfoot round the place so i thought i would tidy up my spares bits and bobs because they were everywhere and found some perfect cases to put them in, we use these for cutting tips and then they just get thrown away but i cut the dividers out to the right sizes for the bits and now they stay where i put them. Just need some more cars now to go with the spares.

The motor on my lads blackfoot gets pretty hot and i was thinking of running a heat sink and fan to it probably one of these

But at the moment the reciever has got a power supply running to it in the small battery terminal with the red connector andthe fan has also got one, so where do i plug the fan into or can i just put a static heat sink onto the motor until a get an ESC. Cheers.

i got my ansman 21 turn motor from apex models from ebay brand new free shipping £8. Its a gem of a motor for a newbie like me and im running that with a viper eco20 esc andf its fine. There website has loads of motor from six quid upwards.
