  1. One for the shelf and one for the MUD!!! I remember racing a bruiser against my Blazing Blazer. Sadly, my Blazer is now long gone, but because of the current prices are so low, I was able to accquire a NIB few weeks ago.
  2. Thank you for your detailed response, and I certainly will take your advice on running and perserving small bits! As for removing the paint, only the tail lights are painted, so easy off shold do the trick? As for the rest of the shell, it is not painted at all. Some small pieces of the front grill is also painted over the chrome, is there a way to remove them without the chrom peeling off?
  3. Sure thing. Here is the thread I started a while back. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49260 Pictures are not top notch as they were taken with my phone.
  4. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to this great club! I am quite new here myself. I was into RC a very long time ago until my parents dug out my old Ranger. I've already started the restoring process and I'd imagine your addiction to this hobby can't be too far behind. As to your question, I can't really tell what you have there, so I will leave it to the experts here. If you can run it, keep running it! Enjoy!!
  5. Parents found my old and almost complete Ranger XLT. See http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49260 for more details. They also found a NIB Ranger XLT body kit in the basement. It's all back in the rightful owner's hands now.
  6. Thank you guys for the feedback. I been doing a bit reserach on the forums, looks like I will only run it "indoors." I won't dare to bash this thing.
  7. Howdy all, I just recently accquired my Ranger XLT from my younger years. Looking to restore it into a "shelf queen" condition and displaying it in my office. I have started my restoration, but I am looking for a NIB set of the original acoms radio set (with servos). I have PayPal and am verified. Please see my other thread. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49260
  8. Yes, in fact the bumper is brand new! Not even a scratch on it. I might just sell it on eBay...
  9. Thanks for the first response! Means quite a lot to a newbie like myself. Pictures are not so clear, as I dropped my digital camera in the ocean while boating with my kids!!!! Will definitly keep the club updated! More advice appericated!!
  10. Cheers, My parents just contacted me a few days ago and told me they found my old Ford Ranger XLT. I didn't think much of it and I almost told them to throw it out!!! Luckly I did some reserach on the web and Tamiya Club was the first website to pop up. Turns out these things are worth quite a bit... I've now decided to restore my Ranger to either runner or display status. A few bits are missing: antanna pin, motor heatsink, and a few less expensive pieces I was able to pick up on eBay today. I guess I didn't run this car as much as I remembered. The chasis has a few small scratches, but that's it! The radio box has no cracks, and there are no cracks on the car at all. The body hasn't been painted fully, just a few bits here and there. Any suggestions on how I can remove those paint without damaging the body shell? Also, the motor seems to be missing as well, any suggestions on which motor will fit?
