  1. i dont race my tamiyas and i have about 7 differtent cars (not very many compared to most of you but thats alot for me as im not earning money at the moment) i dont race them but i do street bash them (i hate that term, it makes me think of banger racing) anyway, i bash them and they get damaged and are in no way shelf queens. but i prefer the way they look when they are battered and damaged, it means they have been used. my frend has a few that he uses occasionly but they are kept in perfect condition. people never ask him about them, where as my collection is always having questions asked about the cars. and people ask if they can have a go. i think thats because they are batered. they dont worry that they will damage it.

of course i keep the chassis in good condition but the shells are falling apart. one of the shells for my tt-01 is litrally held together with packing tape. and thats just the way i like them.... i kinda went off the point there.

the main reason i dont race them is simple. there are no racing clubs that im aware of in my area, i dont hav a car (yet although my test is in a week) but i would not be willing to make a 150 mile round trip to go to the nearest club that im aware of.

i live in petersfield in hampshire (england) if anyone knows of any tracks near me let me no.

  2. thanks for all the help guys. i took the compleate front motor/gearbox section apart and re-greased it all, i also gave the speed controll a quick wipe over with some kitchen roll and put the front motor in the back and the rear motor in the front and its now working like new  now i just need o give te body a makeover.

thank again for all the help.

  3. thanks for all the help guys. in reply to tamiya dan yeah you guessed right. its a super clod body about 2 years old. the body has been slly fallng apart for some time, up untill about a week ago the right hand sde of it was held together with packing tape . ive decided to give it a bit of a referbishment so all the bumpers have come off and have been replaced with home made metal ones for a bit of added damage protection. the bod is going to be reinforced with aluminium and im going to try and find some jerry cans and things to go in the truck bed.

i will give the tamiya 'cement' a go and see ow it works.

again thanks for all the help and i will try to uploead some pics at some point.

  4. has anyone come across a glue that will 'weld' tamiya shells (clod buster) back together? my clod buster has some minor cracks in the shell. i have tried many types of glues including the airfix glue, a hot glue gun and even the gamesworkshop stuff, and still no luck :P

thanks for any help you can provide.

  5. How long do you plan on running? The clod with a decent battery runs for a looong time even in power mode.

because i dont race at all with the r/c cars (ill stick to the 160cc go-carts) i just use them for street bashing, so i use them untill the battery dies, i have about 8 batteries but at least 4 of them are over 3 years old and starting to loose charge or not taking the charge, out of the batterys that still work i have a 4500 milli amp 2 3000milliamps and a 2500milliamp. all of witch ar 7.2volts.

  6. Your MSC probably needs a clean and regrease. Either replace it with a (#45037) Tamiya TEU-103BK or other equivalent ESC.

Use either a twin motor speed controller or a low turn single with 'Y' connectors.

Turn on you clod and with it in forward (looking at the brushes through the back of the motor) see if the front motor turns at all.

If it does it's more than likely your pinion grub screw has come loose. If it doesn't them one of the connectors on the power/economy switch has probably come off.

the moter doesnt move. and since last night i have lost all drive in the economy mode, it might not be as fun as power but its useful to get i back to the car after ther batterys are mostly dead.

  7. i have a super clodbuster and its now a few years old, i havnt used it for a bit but got it out today for a run. the clod is compleatly stock with no hop-ups and a manual speed controll. i need a new speed controll as the old one doesnt work very well, does anyone have any suggestions?

also i have lost all drive in the front wheels, does anyone no how this problem could have been caused? and any ways to repair it?

thanks for any help you can provide.

  8. i recently got a dark ipmact (DF-03), when i built it i had problems fitting the carson sport esc into the chassis after hours of fiddiling i finally did it i then tried to set it up with my controller but yet more broblems occered. after a long discussion with th u.k. importer i use i finally got it working. my car has only had about 2 hours of running split up into about 1/2 an hour each day. and all ready the esc has broken. there are no lights on the esc but the steering still works, i have tried changing the plug that its connected to on the recever and that hasnt worked. any one got any ideas?? in a couple of weeks im going to take it back to the shop if i cant fix it. B)
