rcgrabbag.com already does repro handles, mirrors etc
Is there much diff between repro and rere I wonder

CHEERS FOR THAT INFO, MY LIFE IS NOW COMPLETE (UNTIL THE RERE THAT IS, LOL!)

-
Does anyone know if there will be indicators with the RERE & door handles, mirrors etc??? If so will they be available to buy as spare parts because a lot of people would probably be interested in them if they were!
-
Welcome to TamiyaClub!
Nice to see you restoring your old beetle to it's former glory and giving it a new lease on life!
You are probably having gearbox problem's as the diff spread's and the bevel gears slip causing drive issues?
If so you will be happy to know there's a fix for it!
Theres' quite a few Monster beetle fanatics on here and no doubt they will endevour to help you the best they can.
Enjoy your stay!

I happen to be one of them so called Monster Beetle "fanatics", I have a load of spare parts kicking about plus loads of info on various restorations I have undertaken since May (I think I have done 15 Monster Beetle restorations to be exact).

I say go for the Buggy Champ, here's mine with 2 alternate shells, what a great buggy!!!

-
Hi there, I would probably take a few off your hands if the price was right!!!
-
Whats the best colour scheme out there to suit buggy champ 2009???

-
that was a good article.Should I clean the tires with anything to better promote adhesion??? I was thinking alcohol
Hi, Celulose thinners is good for cleaning the tyre of anything, whilst any sort of "Back to Black" or silicone based automotive tyre shine would have the desired effect!

As the title says, I have a problem uploading a showroom entry. Why is this?
It's really annoying, because you lose your description you made...
I'm having the same problem, uploading server must be down! I've typed the same thing about 100 time (a bit like doing lines at school)!

I haven't forgot about the monster beetle parts, my guy that makes my parts has a son who races mini sprint cars, but I dropped off the steering knuckles today and stock wheels also to have machined out of aluminum.
Hey it's cool, I haven't forgot about them either

I looks to be a Trinity Joel "Magic" Johnson 27 turn stock motor from the early 90's...
I'll have a look through a few old RC Car action mags for more info, but I'm sure Terrysc can give you the full run down on it...
Hey, thanks for letting me know, is this a fast motor??? how much better than a stock motor is it?
-
Does anyone know what sort of motor this is? It has the words 'Magic' on the label & a picture of a guy holding a trophy in the air on it! It came from the USA with a 2nd hand Monster Beetle!
-
That's a class paint job Connor!
Cheers mate, it took long enough with that one! I keep trying new things with these every time I do one, just to see what works & how to get a better result! I have a 2nd hand shell at the moment with a huge crack in the roof so am going to fill the sunroof & make it a total hardtop to increase the shells durability!

the black decals would look good on a yellow mb
and the green on a white mb?
Well the standard MB repro decals are going on a custom mix metallic grey/blue colour scheme, the red, white, blue, grey is going on a custom mix metallic light blue, the red, green, yellow, blue will be going on a flat VW colour (something retro I think), and the last set of decals orange, blue, black, white will be going on an Audi Lava grau pearl effect (sparkley dark grey) colour scheme!!!
Thats the plan so far, just waiting for some paint stripper to strip the 2nd hand shells I have recently bought!!!
-
Here is a picture of the custom made Monster Beetle decals I am waiting to apply to various projects!!! These are better than Tamiyaclub decals (and better than originals in my eyes). They are printed on a 7 year UV resistant sheet. The guy you need to speak to if you want any or have any queries regarding custom decals is Jeremy at Screenprintdigital. He is a Tamiyaclub member and his contact details are as follows: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/member.asp?id=27025
Below is one that I have already completed using the custom decals, your comments on them would be much appreciated!!!

So, any updates on the BUG Connor?
Have a look at my showroom for all recent Monster Beetle rebuilds my friend!!!
-
I know the Blackfoot tyres fit the Monster Beetle Rims (and obviously the spike stock tyres as well) but im looking for other tyres that will fit on a standard Monster beetle rim, preferebly some with writing on that I can paint white!!! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hello, I am not clued up with all the different hop-up's to the gear box but hopefully somebody can explain, I have a Monster beetle with a CRP Axle conversion kit (CRP #9130) how is this better than stock???
I also have a chassis with a Thorp Dirt Burners No Slip Rear End, Thorp Dirt Burners Right and Left Universal Gear Box Joints, is this the Thorp Ball Diff you are discussing???
-
Yes I will probably have a load off you, as I am in great need of these parts!!!
-
Yes G1 is a very week part and i will take that with me to my buddies place and get a quote on that. I just talked to him and he is finishing up my cand scorcher coilover kits as we speak.
Produce some Alu "G1" parts and I will have a load off you!!! :0(

Thanks Medic. Keep a look out for my rebuild No3 - I will add a lot of customized parts to it and stray from the original box art.
What sort of customized parts where you thinking for No: 3 & have you decided what colour scheme you are going for yet???
-
How much did it go for if you don't mind me asking???
-
If you're not worried about using "genuine Tamiya" screws, you can get them from Modelfixings:
Cheers mate, thanks for the information!

I am in dear need of the tiny 6mm screws & washers that screw the windscreen, lights, nose cone sides on the the main shell of the MB, can anyone point me in the right direction to get some spares???
-
Hey thanks for the advice, the ones I have on this MB are the white vinyl one's (very tricky to apply), but I liked the alternative colour scheme as I find boxart MB's boring! I have been in contact with a printing company who say they can replicate the MB sticker sheet onto clear vinyl AND give me whatever colour scheme I can come up with! I'm currently undergoing negotiations with the chap that prints them so I will post some info on them when they have arrived! Like you say if your creating a runner, the paper/white vinyl ones are very cost effective! I have a few sets myself just for that reason!
