Around 1pm works for me.
I bought a vintage Terra Conqueror (although I suspect it's more Manta Ray) which I was hoping to run but still needs work done to it.
-
I was thinking around 1pm but could do earlier as well.
Not sure what the weather forecast is over weekend so hopefully the rain has cleared up.
-
I vote Thorneside as I think the beaches will be jam packed due to being a public holiday
-
I'm definitely keen for the 27th. An off-road run would be good.
You will also require the special 10 tooth pinion, front bumper, the shaft bag which contains axle springs (even though they break pretty easily), the shaft to attach gearbox to chassis and the wheely bar.
They are hard to control but fun to run though!
-
No go for me tonight. Too busy during the week to get anything prepared darn it!
Am keen for a run on Aussie day holiday if anyone else is interested. Monday 27 th Jan if I have the date correct.
-
okey dokey, have video. Unfornutately didn't get that final roll, and I need to practice my camera angles a bit! Either way enjoy -
Awesome dude! The Go Pro does such cool video. You would get some amazing stills from that footage too I'd reckon.
Great mix of slo-mo and full speed- nicely done.
Was a great arvo and so nice to get the cars out again.
Cheers

Charged a bunch of batteries and they seem to still work! Trusty boomerang as well as Thundershot works so will have a couple of things to run.
-
I was thinking around 2.

Monday works for me. It will be a lot cooler than Sunday. Are you thinking Thorneside? For something more secluded, there is also Redland Bay as an option as well.
-
I looked at the forecast for the 29th and it is going to be 36 degrees. Should we pick another day?
-
You mean Thornside??
The 29th could work for me. Gives me time to atleast get some stuff ready. During the day would be more ideal for me.
-
I would be keen to finally make a return at some point over the break. Still have to prepare a bit of stuff and hope batteries still charge.
-
Great job Johann! Looking forward to some more.
Hey stranger - Hope all is well. Get yourself to a meet soon hey

Yeah maybe one day soon
-
Looking good!

Here are a few pics from an impromptu run I had at Redland Bay this morning.
Decided to chance the weather and fortunately the track was in great condition with very little sign of moisture.
Also wanted to test out the new camera, so very pleased all round!

yeah, Mark and I (not too sure who else) intended on meeting up at Thornlands at 1.30 on Sunday. There is both off and on-road areas.
Umm yeah I think I intended to too!

Hey guys
Here are some pics from today. Cheers for the run akthough Boondall was at its parts breaking best.
Glad I don't run there regularly these days as it would be a very costly hobby.

-
ok, have managed to bribe the kids not to come along, so Boondall it is.
Good stuff. Hoping to have my thundershot ready. Need to paint and decal it. Would be fun to christen it on Monday
-
True, however when asking the kids, they wanted to go to the Springwood water tower and ride their bikes. So Boondall should be ok as long as there is room for them to ride (but not on the track!)
No not really. The ring road perhaps but cars drive along it. They might be able to ride on the grass area around the track.
-
I'll go with whatever the majority wants to do. There are no kids parks at boondall though
-
Hey boys
I'd prefer morning so I have a little more time. Keen for off-road. We were thinking thornside but certainly open for suggestions.
-
For pure nostalgic purposes I would definately buy some. Don't like your chances of tamiya rereleasing them though. I would rather see them rerelease things like technigold motors. Mind you, if they think they could make money on them, don't be surprised!
-
I agree with everyone else- the rereleases will keep coming. For how long? Who knows. Tamiya have uncovered a whole new market by re releasing their classics and I think this cash cow still has plenty of milk in it. With the rere of the bruiser, it shows that any rere is possible. I think there will be atleast another 4-5 big releases. These don't include rehashed oldies on new chassis such the holiday fugly, crud blaster II etc. My guesses- Wild one, Fox, 959, Bigwig and Monster Beetle.

This will be my first 4WD buggy!
OSR:)
Really?? What has taken you sooooo long? You will never look back once you start driving 4wd buggies.
