  2. There's about 20 RC cars, mostly vintage Tamiya stuff, 4x SRB's, 2x Super Champs, Bruiser, Mountaineer, Sand Scorcher, Monster Beetle, Blackfoot, lots more, lots of parts, ESC's, servos, motors etc etc.

Lots of period / antique furniture, tools and other things.

Off Jones St in Auchenflower, signs out from 6.30am.

Can you give us an indication of prices mate? I might make the trip up if they are going to be reasonable.

Ignore my post......didn't read the date of the initial post....garage sale has been and gone...******!!

  3. In the UK £34.99 was the price of the Technigold. I still have a box somewhere with the original Beatties price. The Boomerang was £174.99 for the complete deal, which was kit, radio, battery and charger at the time. The time was 1986.

    Paul.

You guys from the UK will know the TV series.... 'Life on Mars' .......... if only we could go back in time now.....to 1986!! we'd all prob end up comign back with a container full of vintage R/C gear!!

  4. Back in the day ('88-'89) I had a Supershot running the standard kit issued 'Technipower' motor. I thought that motor was the shizzle!!!!! I didn't have anything flash back then in the car...an ESC, that's about it, and I was the biggest competion to a guy that had all the $$$$$ running a Schumacher CAT with all the bells and whistles. Could never beat him in a straight line but always caught up with him in the corners. I think I might have got him a few times when he ran outta juice....... Those were the days!!!

Wow... then the Tecnigold was released and that was another step above!

  5. My 2c on the subject for what it's worth........

I think it's pretty much a no-brainer that the SS will be released @ some point in the near future, providing the sales figures stack up with the newly released BC. You'll all agree there's been a huge amount of interest in the short period it has been released and it will do well. Just look at some of the online stores.....selling out of their initial stock and having to re-order already, that's gotta be good news for Tamiya and the old SRB's.

I'm sure Tamiya well and truly know the popularity of the SS and that it's more than likely IMHO going to be their most popular re-release model (given the opportunity) yet. In the current economic climate $$$ talks so why would they not release it?????

  6. Hi Guys,

I have been watching the re-releases that Tamiya is introducing over the years. I may have missed out on the earlier re-re but I have managed to get hold of some. The Grasshopper, my first in the 80's, along with the Brat, Frog and Hornet. They are in my collection at the moment. ;)

Next up would be the Buggy Champ "Rough Rider"...... I am so excited!.... the feeling is great, its like flash back to younger days. :)

Are you guys getting the BC with the battery or without?

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Over the last few years I have kept an eye old 80's Tamiya kits selling on Ebay. Then I saw the re-issues coming out, but I struggled to get motivated to really get back into the hobby, but after seeing the re-release of the SC/RR I'm hooked. The SS was the car I really wnated back in the day by by '87 it had bee discontinued and I wasn't able to find one...at least not until 2009!!!!!!! Here's hoping!! At least I can start the ball rolling with the BC!

  7. I was a bit concerned my 2 NIB's were going to cop the wrath of Australian customs but they slipped through and EMS tracking tells me they are at my local post office waiting for me to collect them tomorrow morning .

You guys have it hard on customs duty costs why is your threshold on items so low ??.Is it that they want you to spend your dollars in country and not go off shore ??

We get the raw deal on a lot of things over here and so do our cousins in New Zealand but when it comes to customs at least we get a fair deal I just dont get why you guys in the UK and Europe are not given the same fair go .

Mate.....did you have to pay any import duty costs to Aussie Customs @ all???? I am just getting back into the hobby after a number of years (20) out having seen that the 'Rough Rider' has been re-released, and of course hopefully the SS in due course!!

I'm looking at importing a couple of BC kits myself but wondering if in the long run it might pay to wait till the kit is released in Aus. I have been given a rough quote by a Hobby Store of $450-$500AUD.

    Cheers
