darryn the dirty willy is at the hobby shop
Zericon replied to tokens's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Good lord, I Was away for sometime, I Come back and the same topic is still being joked about, lol Conrad Motor. Anyway, after catching up, I Kinda like the look of the 'diry willy' I don't think I'd spend 189 on it tho, maybe 99, even a little more. -
this is my new site, The site itself is not not ritch in content however i'm trying to get some forums going, It's Gonna be for all Things hobby, not just Tamiya or R/C cars Any advice or sugg are welcome http://zericon.netfirms.com/

Yea the motor mount is adjustable, looks like it would take almost anysize pinion. i changed tires to some pro-line strikers and they seem to improve performance. The motor gets extreemly hot, however not the batteries or speedo. I guess i'll order an 11 and 12 tooth when i order the 10tooth.

In running my New found Blackfoot, i've notticed it's got a slow accel. after looking into it further, i see that it has a standard lenth 15 tooth pinion instead of the normal long 10 tooth. It's using a white (fiberglass maybe) motor mount to adj the motor. In anyones opinion is this pinion too big? also is it a normal 32 pitch?

Congrats on yer first frog... First yes the four AA holder can be obtained from Radioshack.. also check what if your reciever says BEC (may not even need the 4AA's) I'd say that if everything else is good cond. 15mph should be a breeze.

Zericon replied to Tamiya UK's topic in General discussions
[] Arrggg... Been digging though old post trying to decide on a mini, still can't deside [8)] anyone have one of the TLT-1 yet? or a Losi mini-t? kyosho's out for me. looks to "toyish" -
I'm in for the east coast... I'll show, would rather have something in MD, PA, VA, somewhere in one of those states would be best for me.
-
When my original diff went, for a temp fix, just to get on the road, try some JB weld, (this will ruin all parts you currently have) but will get ya runnin at least for a little while.

Live in United States, Maryland.. Where, we're not popular for much of anything. (the State anyway) weathers a mess, most LHS around are stuck on the ever popular touring car mess. (just not my thing)

I Actually need rears more than anything, we need to exchange phone #'s so we can get together next weekend before it gets too cold. []

Actually I have this Radio and reciever in my Striker, When I got the striker from e-bay, it had a mechanical speed control. Both steering and throttle were very non-responsive(slow!!!) That gear is back in the Striker, sence it's not the most durible and won't get run too hard. Anyway mines slow to, dunno if all of em are like that.
-
That would be Great, maybe i'll come up with something as well. (Just got the Futaba 2pl [] Love it!
-
I've always wanted a Frog, I check E-bay At least twice a day to see what a nice one for a nice price will show up! Also always loved the blackfoots, just got a King For my Birthday, had a Super when i was younger. Great trucks, can ya tell I love the old frog chassis.[8D]

I'm 25, (young Blood[]) First Tamiya Ever set eyes on was a Frog that an older child across the alley had when I was 9 or 10. That Started it all. First Hobby class was Futaba fx10 around the same age, maybe a little older. I did get away from Tamiya around 16 to go to the faster Bolink style pan cars. I've returned, about a year ago and don't ever plan to stop, or stear away again.

GReat Vid! Man, looks like fun, Movies are good editing too.

There is actually not enough info for that, What is your gear ratio? Maybe what car/truck do you have, maybe i can find the gear ratio and speed of the motor. It's not a hard math calc actually, just need some info, worst case is number of teeth on pinion, # of teeth on spur/counter and # on diff, with motor RPM it's just theretical math. Could get into Roll out and other to be more exact but, it's more work and still won't be perfect due to battery and friction. [] post all the info and i'll do the calc. [8D]

Does anyone know of any site that is as organized as tamiya club, but reviews other RC items, not the actual models themselves but the Radio's, Speed controlers, recievers, ect. Some Radios i'd like to get a real persons opinion, not just the sales jargon. I however like the layout of tamiya club, other Rc sites i'm been to can't hold a candle to it (Much Respect to Chris)

Dont know what to buy: King Cab or Dyna Storm?
Zericon replied to El Mexican's topic in General discussions
I can speek Very Very well about the King Cab, the Gear Box, is not very durable at all! I had problems with the diff, others i know have had problems with the counter gear mysteriosly loosing teeth[8)] I Also had two different Chassis crack at the same point, Where the steering mechanics are screwed to the chassis[] These are the two major weeknesses i've had with the king cab... The most reconized Hit of the cab is it's handleing, jumps like a race ready assoicated(ok maybe not, but close []) You couldn't roll this truck if ya had to! -
Anyone know wheather this car is wide body or what????!?!?!?![]
