  1. Will it run full power reverse?
  2. I'm looking for an inexpensive ESC that does fwds & reverse, provides full power in reverse and is reliable. It'll probably be looking after a "Truck Puller" (about 82 turns) or a std. can..... Any suggestions? TIA Neill
  3. I'm thinking of finding a twin motor 4x4 chassis with plenty of clearance available - via tweaking if necessary. Reliable & strong gearboxes........ for crawling etc. Sadly I can't afford the likes of clods etc Any suggestions? TIA Neill
  4. I've got the rear gearbox sprues for the Taisan Starcard Porsche GT3s TA02SW chassis. This was the only car that Tamiya created GREY gearboxes etc. for! Any sensible offers, otherwise I'm happy to keep them to keep my other 01's running........
  5. I was bitten by the LR bug from when I could just about walk - it's all my Dad's fault! He had one of the very first RR classics and many others since. I've been driving/owning LR's since I passed my test - including through Africa why my life depended upon it's reliability (or rather my abilities to fix it!) In my experience of owning newer LR's, the dealers just don't know & don't care. The times I've been told some complete bull by some moron..............! I've often been significantly better qualified than even the Service MAnager! I sympathise with owners of newer LR's & would love a RR sport, but logic dictates (as does financial sense) that I confine myself to LR machinery that I don't have to rely on the dealers for. It's inevitable that LR's products evolve to meet legislation, but it seems that quality has still a long way to go before it's even acceptable. Jap wagons may well be more reliable, but they invariably lack character - how many Hi lux's ccould pull up outside numous smart uk establishments where a Series could trancend classes effortlessly........
  6. I had something similar recently. The seller came back with an equally agressive reply about sending to the uK/Europe. I just sent a quick response about it being his loss. The item closed very low & not meeting his reserve. I got a mail asking if I was still interested............. Nah - of course not! If he was being stupid from the outset, how did I know whether he was going to try to stiff me some way along the line? He should have simply been more polite and perhaps been a bit more open minded about where/who he shipped to. Like I said his loss - as I reminded him! [}]
  7. Chris, I've got a bodyset number of 50730*3000, though whather it's actually available is another matter! One of the mirrors got broken in a house move >:| I've already checked Jasons - nothing listed at the mo' but I'll check a few of the others over the next few days. Do you have a copy of the (04) manual I could blag please? I've been thinking about another kit, as I also have a hopped-up 911 also on M04 chassis. Thanks Neill
  8. I need 2 - one must be as close to new as poss. (E2, E3, C20 & the urethane block) If anyone can help please? Thanks Neill
  9. I'm looking for chrome body parts (& any others) for Alfa Guilia Sprint GTA. If there's a body set out there, that'd be ideal. TIA Neillid="Comic Sans MS">
  10. Sadly, I haven't quite mastered the "being in two places at once" bit yet. We've got our traditional annual Mini Trophy with 1:1 4x4's that w/e, though as it's likely to be moderately close, we may just "drop in" if time permits. I'd love to be able to be there for the whole w/e, but that's unlikely.........
  11. I run a variety of Hummers, some stock, some with 80+ turn motors, I sometimes lock the rear diff as it makes a huge difference when playing or crawling, I sometimes remove the damper internal spacers and play with spring rates. The BFG tyres make quite a difference, giving far more traction (the GY pattern seem to break away too soon when running hotter motors). Only one of mine is still on the original "coat hanger" propshaft (coincidentally also the only one still on nylon bushes instead of decent bearings) - but to be changed soon. Whatever I do to them however, I've tried to keep them looking at least fairly stock. I guess modifications are only limited to your wallets' tolerance []
  12. quote: Originally posted by _4-0_ I seen that ebay auction too. I was gonna get one and spray it yellow and add cammel decals. id="quote">id="quote"> these models are fairly readily available from a number of (mainly 1:1 Land Rover) outlets. One of our members has already built a Camel 90 based on this, including winch, roofrack etc; however the basic model has poor articulation (as already pointed out), which, when you put a roofrack etc. up top, makes it very unstable on anything other than smooth level surfaces []
  13. Stick with it for a while if you can. I've had a few Land Rover shells off Keith and I know he's a very busy bunny![] Hope it works out well
  14. quote:Originally posted by The SlayerI read - or saw somewhere that carson did an internal antenna, anybody know about this[?] I would imagine that it is a kind of frame aerial arrangemant - like the early radio sets in the 20's (no i wasnt there [:I]) I have experimented with my mini (now sold []) and got at least 250 yds range by stringing it between the body mounts.... just think it looks better than a lump of plastic tube sticking up from the top [] and yes i do know about ground capacitance effect before anyone says []id="Comic Sans MS">id="Book Antiqua"> id="quote">id="quote">I don't know about internal, but they certainly do a very short external aerial - they protrude about 2-3cm from the R/C body. I've been trying to find one myself...
  15. I'm hoping somebody can help, (D1) parts from Manta Ray etc... The spring retainer at the bottom of the damper. TIA Neill
  16. Sorry. I don't make a habit of "pulling" auctions in the last moments. I was out when I received what I believed to be a reasonable offer, I managed to get back in and onto my PC just in time to deal with it - otherwise I would have ended up with egg on my face. Should the funds not materialise as promised, I've undertaken to notify others (in strict rotation), prior to the car being relisted. As has been covered in other threads eBay seems a bit lame at the moment..... - Maybe due to the exchange rate. Sorry. [:I] ps. being slightly naive, what's the dodgy bit about pulling auctins early? I know it's "jolly unsporting and all that".....
  17. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1 Please check it out & bid high! []
  18. quote:Originally posted by nocontrolyetSweet looking chassis. [^] Shame it will sell for far more than I can afford to bid.[] Good luck with your auction. [] id="quote">id="quote">Thank you [:I] It took a while getting all the bits & trying not to make it look garish - I think I succeeded...
  19. Tamiya, GPM, Kose, Cross, New Built Aluminium Chassis, suspension, wheels..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1 Please take a look
  20. quote: Originally posted by mud4fun hehe!!! [^][^] Mind you isn't the Hummer equipped with Kevlar body panels? (maybe that was an option which gave small arms protection) that'd be a bit stronger than the aluminium Land Rover panels in the event I roll it......[] id="quote">id="quote"> Wha' happen? You didn't damage the 'rover? Neill
  21. Auction plug: These items & I'll be listing a few more in the next few..... http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...&sort=3&rows=50
  22. http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...&sort=3&rows=50 contact me if there are any queries..... THX
  23. I interchange the two regularly - they seem the same - some are a little dirtier sometimes though![] Neill
  24. Hiya, I also mourned the loss of the "Postal Calculator" - it seems a whole host of comapnies feel the urge to replace a perfectly good site with a load of garbage with busted links etc..... Anyway, I digress.... Try this: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/home# It doesn't link directly to the calculator, but it's /very/ easy to get to it from here. I tried getting the relevant url for the calculator, but it doesn't direct properly. ATB Neill
