any word on the next clumber meet?

I need to make it very clear that the issue is Public Liability Insurance because the meets grew massively over the course of 2014 and Clumber classed them as an 'Event'. Due to this, Iconic RC is pulling out of the meets. That basically means me and my track and my promotion of the meets. I'm sure the meets will carry on but they need to be on a much smaller scale without involvement from Iconic. At this time, I'm not prepared to pay for PLI. I'll assess the situation in the New Year and hope to offer an alternative event to the many disappointed Clumber attendees.

    Iconic Meets

I'll reply to this when my head is a bit more straight. Mark and I have had a mare since we both spoke to Clumber yesterday so we need to talk and then decide the next move.

Disco, you can join at A1 and you'll get 14 months for the £17 as it will cover you for all of 2015. Would be great to see you there. J

    Iconic Meets

Hi all. A1 Racing Club are opening up on Sunday to welcome anyone who have been disappointed by the unavoidable camcelation of the Clumber Park meet. A1 Racing are in Grantham which is 55 minutes down the A1 from Clumber. It's a lovely outdoor astroturf track. Please look at their facebook page for more details of the venue. Iconic & TC members will have the run of the track for the day for informal racing and practicing and general all round RC fun 09:00 to 16:00. £3 for the day to run your RC. BRCA required unless you are a newcomer and have never had BRCA. No electricity or timing equipment so we make our own races for the day. 1/10 Scale Electric RC's. Portaloos on site. Services are a 1 minute drive from the track.

    58599 - Any guesses?

Ah, so they are releasing TT-02D's with bodies. I did wonder when the chassis kit came out.

    Top Force Evo Battery fitting?

Sounds good. I have some Vapextech rounded nimh shaped LiPo's but the connection on the end of the battery sticks out a mile and I just couldn't make them fit either.

    Top Force Evo Battery fitting?

Paul, I've taken 3 photos of where I dremeled my new built toppy and tagged you on Iconic.

    Iconic Meets

It was a very successful round one for the clubs over the last 2 weekends and it has created a real buzz. I'll be writing up a round summary which will appear in Racer Magazine. We've also introduced a Rally Class which West Bridgford Model Car Club are introducing from their round 2. All the detail is in the photo.

    Top Force Evo Battery fitting?

Hello mate. Did you ask this on Iconic or was it someone else? I promised a photo and then forgot. I got the dremel out to make my hard pack fit into my standard TOP-FORCE. It isn't quite centered though which is ok for someone of my level but it might annoy a decent racer such as yourself. There are 4 of us running Toppies in the Iconic series but they're all standard (not Evo). I'm looking forward to seeing you race the Evo hard. That's what it's for after all.

Kumamon Bajon - what are your thoughts?

    He's a national institution isn't he??

Kumamon Bajon - what are your thoughts?

Can easily be converted to Mr Blobby to suit the UK market. I love trying to figure out what Tamiya releases will look like. Same for when the Tumbling Bull was announced. Whatever it is, I'll love it because Tamiya can do nothing wrong in my eyes. It must be a Cute Bear Tractor though surely. Possibly with him sat in a Farm King body or sat on a Tumbling Bull. Would be very cruel to put a cute bear on a Tumbling Bull though coz he won't last long!

Kumamon Bajon - what are your thoughts?

A cute bear will 'please' the members.

    58599 - Any guesses?

the 590's are awash with M, TT, TB. I wonder if they're back filling because they're sorting out some sort of licensing. I reckon it will be another TT-02 or TB-04 then.

any word on the next clumber meet?

Finally sorted the August ClumberRcMeet video. A stunning array of vintage loveliness on display! I see such gloom and negativity on some posts elsewhere on this forum. This is proof that vintage RC and RC in general has never been better!

    Crisis time?

I see gems every single day on there. It's worth it even if you just set up an anon rc only account.

    Crisis time?

Facebook is absolutely rammed with vintage collectors and fanatics. No vintage RC crisis; just smart phones and tablets etc and a one stop shop.

    Social media

There are thousands and thousands of happy RC'ers engaging with each other on Facebook. It's an excellent platform and there are lots of fantastic groups catering for all sorts of RC interests. The platform of choice these days now that so many people use smart phones.

Places for off road round Leicestershire?

Personally, I'd go on a hunt around your local area. There is usually a little gem of ideal land to have a laugh on. BMX tracks are good too when the kids are at school.
