The Track is wedged into the car for tomorrow!
There will be the usual wheelie race and looks like there will be a number of DT-03's for a race.
See you all there.

Classic Buggy Racing Format
There will be one practice round in heat order.
There will then be 5x 5 minute Rounds (heats) of racing per class.
Each round is a Staggered Start format so buggies will start 1.5 seconds apart and it is all about completing as many laps as possible in those 5 minutes. The Transponder system will record the exact time and laps over the 5 minutes.
Classic Buggy PointsIn each round there are 200 points up for grabs. The fastest driver is awarded 200 points. 2nd fastest 199 points. 3rd fastest 198 points and so on.After the 5 Rounds, each driver’s best 3 Round scores are added up and the worst 2 are discarded.Nostalgia Points are then added to the final score to give the grand total.(Busy classes may bit split into 2 separate rounds but the points will still be allocated per class.)In the photo example, the worst 2 Round scores per driver are discarded, the Nostalgia points are added on and Hutch wins the class. There is a maximum of 11 Nostalgia Points per buggy and these will be allocated at booking in.Uniqueness at the Event 2 pointsOriginal Chassis (not re-release) 2 pointsWiper Board Speedo 2 pointsBrushed Speedo 1 pointBrushed Motor 1 pointNimh or Nicad Battery 1 pointPeriod Tyres designed for chassis 1 pointNon GHz Radio 1 point -

Just realised I hadn't put the Revival Apparel link on here.
IconicRC and Revival T-Shirts and (very 80's) Trucker Hats are available from our Zazzle Store.
£1.30 from every purchase from the store until August will go into the charity pot for the Revival. That is every penny of what IconicRC will make from each purchase. Zazzle get the rest.
-
Closing date for entries is: Sunday 20th July.
That is 3 weekend's time.

We have a new and rather special Revival Event Sponsor.James Knight of Knight Customs is donating 5 (yes 5!) Moto Wild Willys!

An important note re insurance on the day. Something we've had clearly clarified by the BRCA.
If you are entered in the amateur class and are a complete novice (never raced before) you can race without having insurance cover.
People who are experienced racers and have raced previously, and have let their BRCA insurance cover lapse will have to have insurance before they can race. Lapsed BRCA members should already understand this but the regulations aren't particularly clear which is why we've had it clarified.A BRCA License is £17.Please direct message me with any questions on this. -
Event Sponsor: RC Racing UK
RC Racing UK have very generously donated a XB Lunchbox to the charity raffle which will be held on the day.

Well have finally got myself booked in.
Am going to be running my Wild One and Supershot.
Really looking forward to this!
To anyone who hasn't raced before and is unsure about entering, let me say that last years Dt02 event was the first time that I had been on a track. Sure, my driving sucked, but it was great fun and a brilliant day out!
At the revival you're going to be racing with like minded people of a similar ability.
This promises to be a fantastic event, so blow the dust off those models and get yourselves entered!
Nice one Steve and well said. We're encouraging complete newcomers to racing and they will be well looked after.
Re our chat at Clumber; we'll be mixing PRO and AM during the heats if necessary so there will be no quiet heats.

I will be in Chesterfield on the first Sunday of August, which I think is the 3rd will you be having a meet then?
Cannot make the July one as I will be working.
Just trying to plan ahead.
Not sure as yet when the next one will be but it will probably be nearer to end of August. Perhaps the Bank Holiday weekend. We'll know after the July 6th meet.
As an alternative, there is the SnettertonRcMeet. PM me if you're interested in that one.

all i can say is
Dude, you've probably already spotted he'll be joining us for beers on the Saturday night too.

I'm delighted to say that Jamie Booth has signed up for the Revival.
A total legend and this is one of the biggest highlights for me since starting up Iconic.
He's also going to run my Lunchbox in the Wheelie Race. Happy Dayz.
-
and it's official. Jamie has signed up to race at the IconicRC & A1 Racing Revival: http://revival.a1racingclub.com/drivers.html

Hang on, does that mean Jamie Booth is going to be at the Vintage Revival Meeting on the 27th?
He was one of my RC heroes back in my schooldays. Might have to ask for an autograph...
No promises from me on this but Jamie is an IconicRC member and has clearly stated that he is attending the event.
Like many others he hasn't booked in yet whilst sorting out what to run etc.

Camping:
This is the best local Campsite. Thorn Farm Leisure.About 5 mins from the Track by car and where I'll be recommending people to go who wish to camp. They also have B&B. -
I am on Facebook as William Fell, if anyone can send me the link it would be brilliant as I have been unable to open it from here.
Rockthemonkees (Chris) has told me it's definitely on today and bring what you want, essexbill.
He can't get onto the forum.

I've told them on their facebook page to have a look at this thread. J

I am hoping to get the 14th off, is this event still on??
That link is fine. You probably need to login facebook to make the link work. I've had a quick look on there and it's still on but looks like they're arranging it on fb and not on here so you probably need to get on there for the details.

I've discovered today that the Grantham A1 Travelodge is now up to full price (£52 per room and 1 minute from the track) for the Saturday night. Still a bargain if you double up.
The Grantham Colsterworth Travelodge is 2 junctions down the A1 (10mins from the track) and is currently £32 per room for the Saturday night.
A reminder that there will be a posse heading into Grantham Town for beers on the Saturday late afternoon/evening. Both Travelodges will mean a cab into town if you want to join us.
Hope that helps. J

Yes, a fantastic meet once again. My video will be a bit later than normal due to other commitments but I've put about 96 photos onto the Facebook Group. In fact, there are tons of photos on there from other attendees too.
