  1. Well the FRP rear damper stay/tower is a good move as it allows more mounting options for the rear body mounts. What exactly is the problem mounting the scooby shell? Is it that the wheels dont line up (wheelbase) or are you having problems with mounts?
  2. WOW! Thats small! I bet they charge the same for shipping though! Cheers Rich
  3. Well I think thats shocking! I`d be asking my bank if they could find out where the cheque went and when it was cashed tbh. I dont think they will be able to do alot though. See things like this annoy me and I would name and shame the member! A year to wait is way too lng! Hope it gets sorted out! Good luck! Cheers Rich
  4. Well I think I`ll try a few things when I cut the RX7 and get the scrap bits from that. Thanks for the input everyone its given me some great (if slghtly mad) ideas! Cheers Rich
  5. Well they dont do the colour I have in mind in polycarb, plus I've always done things differently in everything I do. Or at least I try to! Seriously my headstone will have engraved on it "I am not a sheep, and is that the time already?" Cheers Rich
  6. Oh? Who makes them and do they work with car spray paint?? Where can I get some to try? Cheers Rich
  7. Maybe a plastisizer would work if it was mixed.....or backing it with a polycarb paint. I know a lot do this anyway to add different lighting kind of effects so maybe that would work? Say silver or smoke. Hmm thats got me thinking again.... Cheers Rich
  8. Well I will be cutting my RX7 body soon and I'll try some methods on the scrap from that. I fail to believe that in this day and age that only polycarb paint will stick to lexan shells. You dont try then you dont make progress. Cheers Rich
  9. Well I use electric only so thats not a problem. How about sanding the inside lightly with 2000 grade sandpaper to get a key? Would that work? Can't help thinking that there must be some way to do it. Cheers Rich
  10. Hi all. I've been talking about paint the last few days as I'm sure a lot of you will have seen and this got me thinking....and forgive me if this has been covered before! What would happen if normal car spray say from halford, was used to spray the inside of a lexan bodyshell? Now I'm guessing that it wont stick to the plastic as it would maybe need a primer of some sorts? But these days some cars have plastic panels so now my mind is whizzing round! Has anyone tried doing this though? Would love to hear your thoughts guys! Cheers Rich
  11. Just checked and the Saffron pearl is metallic. Its one of those colours that looks different depending on light source. But I'm sure you can choose a colour that YOU like! After all thats what counts. Cheers Rich
  12. Well not too sure what planning I have to do but I'm not really in that much of a rush....as long as its before the 1st of September! Cheers Rich
  13. +1 to halfrauds! (I've been ripped off a few times there now but their paint is good for RC models) If you want funky check out Volvo's saffron pearl colour! Looks lush on road cars imho. Cheers Rich
  14. My view is the fonts are there to use so use them! I have no idea and all I know is they say shipping will take 7 to 14 days. So guess I'll find out then. But looking at their feedback other people from the Uk have ordered spray paint within the last month and had no problems so I'm not too worried to be honest. Cheers Rich
  15. Well after a long search I have finally bought some TS18 paint from empire-rc in Hong Kong! Madness! I REALLY hope Tamiya sort out this label issue soon!!! Lets hope that the 1st of septemer is the day we get the TS and other paints back here in the UK!! A BIG thank you to all those who have commented and helped in the search!! Cheers Rich
  16. Yeah I may have to do that if I cant get the ts18. Would tamiyas clear coat spray work just as well? Cheers Rich
  17. Yeah it would make things easier but since when have tamiya ever done that? What I'm now wondering and its slightly off topic, is have tamiya now solved the label issues that saw the TS and other paint ranges removed from the UK shelves??? If wonderland are getting the paint I want in stock on the 1st of september then is this going to be the case for all the TS plus other paints and for other stores too??? Personally I hope so but I wont hold my breath. Has anyone heard anything about it? Cheers Rich
  18. Problem with this place is they dont say its in stock. They just say it USUALLY ships with in 5 -7 days. Which could also mean September! Thanks for the help though! Cheers Rich
  19. Well I'd buy and try on scrap if I can find any in stock in the uk! Cheers Rich
  20. Makes you wonder why tamiya cant just label the same colours with different prefixes! Like ps15 and ts15 being the same colour just for different uses. Why complicate things? Cheers Rich
  21. Just done a search for tamiya ts18 paint in the UK and only one result that came up! Wonderland models says it will have stock....on the 1st of september! :s I cant wait that long! Cheers Rich
  22. [uote name=Zak001' date='Jul 17 2010, 10:14 PM' post='380490] You need the Tamiya TS paint for Abs, the PS being for Lexan...as you know... .... I think your after the Tamiya TS-18 mate Zak Ah yes maybe I didn't make it very clear, as I know its the tamiya ts range but not sure of the number! lol Also I cant seem to find ANY tamiya ts paints for sale! I'm in the UK by the way and thats why I asked about the humbrol. So is the ts18 a match for the ps15? Cheers Rich
  23. Hi all. I have hit a problem. I want to spray a lexan shell with ps15 metallic red paint which I've bought but the shell has a spoiler and wing mirrors made from abs! Does anyone know which paint I need to buy for a match? I cant seem to be able to get any of the tamiya paints for abs and it seems its only humbrol I can get! I may end up getting tamiya paint off the net but not sure which one I need. I'm not an expert in mixing paints so thats kind of out. Would prefere spray cans but at a push the small tubs will do. Or can I use the ps15 on abs?? I know it wont have the gloss finish but could I then use a clear coat? HELP!!! Cheers Rich
  24. Thanks for that info. I'll have a look on ebay and as you say maybe ask if he can get a hold of one! Cheers Rich
  25. What exactly is the reason for using the alloy motor mount? See what I'm thinking is that it just screws in to the original plastic gearbox so in my head I cant see it really doing a lot.... Doesn't it just put more strain on the plastic gearbox it is attached to? I've used the plastic one for years without any problems. Can anyone advise me on this? Cheers Rich
