Hi
can anyone tell me the height differences on the df03ra, tt01 and ta01 chassis at the front? So basically the point where the body would touch the front shock and body mount stay from the bottom of the chassis.
I'm guessing its not much difference maybe a few millimetres or so?
Can anyone give me the measurements please?
Thanks!

I have to say... For me, the TA01/TA02/DF01 series must rank as the most evergreen and successful Tamiya chassis of all-time. The same drivetrain was used equally well in onroad and offroad configurations, for fictional vehicles and real-world scale vehicles, and the TA01 Skyline kickstarted the whole Tamiya touring car line. It has been in production for a long, long time, and has featured in dozens of kits.

I have to say I agree with the TA01 chassis and its on road/off road flexibility!
Love my TA01's

When I painted the wheels on my King Cab/Clod cross I used plastikote paint spray! Works mint and sprays straight on to clean plastic wheels or abs shells!

Most Tamiya Touring cars have one of 4 body hole positions. On the early cars the fronts were all the same (ta01 ta02 ta03 tl01 ff01 ff02) with 1 of 2 rear post options. The kits came with both sets of mounts. The later cars had the option of bumper mounted front posts (ta04 tb01 tb02 ta05 tt01) I can't remember offhand if there was an option for the rear of those chassis. The IFS cars have another front post option. My biggest concern with the ta01 chassis is the chunky front end that doesn't allow very low profile bodies. I have successfully fit the early NSX bodies, r32 and r33 skyline bodies, supra, lancia, and calibra bodies. I have noticed holes in the front bumper that may allow the forward body holes to be used but I haven't tried it. I would use the list of restricted bodies for the ff03 as a reference to what probably won't work on the ta01 chassis.
Yes the low front profile is what concerns me about the 3 I listed but I REALLY want to fit these to the ta01's I have and preferably using the existing mounts if possible. I know the Datsun will fit a tt01 so I'm thinking it will fit the ta01 too, but if anyone can confirm or correct me on this please do.
You mentioned a list for the ff03 chassis, where would I find this?

Hi
I'm looking for different and interesting/cool bodyshell's that will fit my ta01's as I'm a bit fed up with the normal Lancia Delta (I have 3!) and Scooby ones. So can anyone tell me if the Datsun 240z, Nissan 350z or Mazda RX7 bodyset's will fit the ta01 chassis?
Also if you have any other shells that will fit and are cool/interesting/different then let me know and give pics if you can please!

Tamiya took them off the market for labeling issues but have not sorted it or given any info on when/if they will start selling them again!
Most annoying as I prefered these to the spray cans when you want detailed work or to touch up a model when the paint has been damaged etc.
Madness.

Well just out of my own experiance, I`ve hed brushed motors that are meant to run sower in reerse than forward so maybe you just need to swap the motor wires. Then re set you esc.

Hi all
Just found out that Proline have discontinued one of their tyres (and maybe others too) so I thought I`d let you all know.
It seems that the Pro-Line Trac-ta-gator Truck tyres have been discontinued which is a shame as these were very close to the King Cab originals!

Just had to order the Dirt Paw which are the next closest but its a real shame I feel given how good the Trac-ta-gators were and how close they looked to the KC`s.

Can anyone who has done the lexan version and not the carbon version tell me if I have to paint the part of the roof between the additional pods blue to make it look like the kyosho one? I know there is no stickers for that so I'm guessing I just paint it yes?

Yours looks great! What did you use for the lights? Was it a multi light kit?

Do you mean the Controlfreax RS200?
Instructions were a bit lacking ... all I can suggest is looking at some finished examples - here's mine
If you PM me an email adress I have a few closeups I took while test fitting the extra bits, they may be of some use to you. I did try to host them on TCphotos and link here, but the link side seems to have gone all c-b

Hi yes thats the one, forgot it was an x instead of a ks lol
The bodyshell looks good but the instructions are very bad aren't they!
Thanks for the help and I've pm'd you my email.
You could try photobucket to link the pics as I've done with the clod I'm currently selling.

Hi
just bought a fastfreaks ford rs 200 bodyshell and I`m confused by it as the instructions are very poor to be honest.
It says to paint and cut but as there is no protective film on I can see this is why.
The problem I have is the additional lexan parts that come with the shell. I can work out that one is the rear spoiler, and I think the others are the additional front light pods but the other one is puzzling me! I think its the side pods(?) but there is no instructions as to where to cut these or what colour to paint them! they look dark in the poor pic that you get with the shell plus there is no indictaion as to where the stickers should go!!
Anyone done one of these before and can help?
Cheers

THE STICKERS ARE CHEVY REPRO ONES FROM A GUY AT WWW.TAMIYACLUB.COM AND ARE TOTALLY FANTASTIC, EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL ONES!!

I'd like to get a 2.4ghz set myself but cant find a 2 channel set thats the stick type and not a trigger/wheel type which I just cant stand! lol
I'd defo be using it now if I could find one but I've had no problems at all with my 27mhz sets and I've used them since my very first car way back in the 80's! (Ok it was a Lunchbox and technically a van!

Ok got the uprights now but still need the screws that hold them to the front arms! Anybody know where I can get these or have a pair to sell me?

Funny, I thought I was the only one who HATES the colored straws!
Now the only way to get a DECENT straw is to get them used.
I also dislike the black antennas. Why on earth did Futaba start selling receivers with black antennas??

Why can't we have the cars the way we used to back then -clear straws and white antennas!?
And it is also frustrating the fact that most the new Tamiya cars come nowadays with black straws

If you look back in this post there is a link to fusionhobbies who do the clear straws!

I just got 40 two weeks ago just after the link was posted!

TT01 or TA01?
I have a few TA01's and want to fit the RX7, 350Z and 240Z shells to them.
Now I know the Datsun 240Z was released on the DF03ra chassis and I have seen it advertised for a TT01E chassis so I just want to know if it and the other 2, Mazda RX7 and Nissan 350Z, will fit the TA01 chassis?
