  9. Got this tip and another from fellow tankies "watch out for one extra gear that looks very identical to the correct one. Common mistake to install that wrong gear. Roll the gears to see them turn smoothly before you close the gearbox halves" Look out for this gear, it has a "C" stamped on it, this is the extra gear that you wont need.
  10. The GEARS Part 2 i skipped a few step and did what i think was more important

  14. Got this tip and another from fellow tankies, "watch out for one extra gear that looks very identical to the correct one. Common mistake to install that wrong gear. Roll the gears to see them turn smoothly before you close the gearbox halves" "don't install any clear parts untill all painting jobs and decals sealed with a flat clear coat. Warning! Clear parts will show fine line cracks when contacted paint solvents. Use blue tack to temporary secure hatches and glides. Paint them separately, when paint dry then glue them or else the wet paint will seep in and freeze the driver sliding hatch" "one more about the glue. Use the slow drying superglue. Its more tough and resist to shock"
  15. Finally got some upgraded parts for my Leopard... Metal Idler gears, Metal suspension arms, Metal hull hooks, Ball bearings.... Few more items to come n i think i can start e build

  17. Huggable, cant see the link in ur post, i edited n try agn.
  18. Hug, where's ur video of the MFU with DX6? No the SLU version.
  19. Great work on concealing the MFU Skottoman. Neat!!!
  20. look like you are not fated to use 2.4Ghz with MFU.
  21. Ok, I've done more read up and i almost certain that its the 4YF default mode thats causing your problem Here an extracted, "The Futaba 4YF 2.4G is the most bang for the buck. As the MFU adds motors that generate noise, the AM transmitters may experience problems. FM transmitters, such as the Futaba 4YF are less sensitive to noise. Futaba does have a very interesting FM transmitter that works as a charm with the threespeeders, the Futaba 4EXA. It has EPA, end point adjustment, trim memory but still analogue trim levers and a four model memory. However, if you really want to make sure that noise or interference will not be a problem the Futaba 4YF 2.4G is bullet proof. If you will drive together with others, I strongly recommend getting a 2.4 GHz transmitter. Moreover, they have such short receiver antennas that they never interfere with the scale looks of your threespeeder! Keep in mind that Tamiya, like most, manufacturers do not update their manuals. The MFU manual is from 2003 (pre 2.4 GHz) and they always recommend the most basic extras that will make your model work, which is not always what it would work best with. But for such, and other, questions you can always come here." From here, http://www.tamiya3speed.com/forum/showthread.php?1559-Radio-for-King-Hauler And another here, "Hi All, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post, although i have been lurking on this site for some time and reading, in awe, of all the custom projects being done now and in the past! It seems like everyday i find a new (to me) post on this site that shows mind boggling creativity and genuine ingenuity...! Anywho, this all began when i finally pulled the trigger for my first semi. Tamiya Globe Liner amd MFU. I have built the tractor and installed the MFU. i am using the Futaba 4YF radio system. Everthing works fine with the exception of the right turn signal. it works intermittently at best while the left works great. The emergency flasher (hazard lights) work great so i dont think its a problem with the connections. I found a similar thread on this site that said it may be the EPA, which makes sense, but therein lies my problem, the 4YF doesnt seem to have EPA... has anyone used the 4YF with the MFU with a similar issue? If so, i will gladly take any advice on how i can get this sorted out." From here, http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=58807
  22. From ur description, you cant activate the special function due to the 4YF being in a different mode. By default, 4YF comes in mode2, have u try changing it to mode1? I have had the same experience once with mine 4EX, special function not working correctly, etc, and once i change the mode, everything was ok. Could you be so kind to try and change the mode, if you havent tried that before, and test it with the MFU again? Cheers, Here's a extracted post from another thread, "Just make the normal mechanical changes.......... This is not a computer radio, so there is no settings or programming to be concerned with. You just swap the throttle and elevator servos plugs and the aileron and rudder plugs on the receiver, voila, mode change."
