  1. how i got my kit getting ready for the build some photos of the body... Pre-mounted wheels & tires
  2. Hi all, Thanks for viewing this thread, will try not to be to long winded with the build, 1st, as the SR2011 is based on the entry-level buggy, DT-02, it is rather a easy build, i completed up the main chassis in abt 2hrs, minus all the electronics... 2nd, like my HB2010, i will be modding the wheel width down to have they within the body arches...those interested.. please check the links below for the guide http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...6&sid=31105 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...mp;#entry416027 3rd, as this shell is the normal plastic shell, i will try to mod and cover both the front & rear suspension holes lastly, i will add any more mod i might do... once again, thanks for viewing and all comments welcome regards, VTRSP1, Des
  3. hi Chain Driven, those overextended arms can easily b fix... i did a mod on the HB2010, narrowed down the width... only problem is the holes for the suspension... front is easy solve, rear is abit more work... lucky thing this body is the normal ABS shell, unlike the HB2010...
  4. Its quite different from the avante.... Different front n rear designed arms...... New front shock tower, newly designed rear shock tower... Different diff cups design..... Full ball diffs...... Carbon steering arm...... Wasnt allow to take any photos of it yet.... But will try to updates u guys if possible.... N kyosho1, i'm VTR.......
  5. After 3days of work... Finally got a ugly looking camo paintwork done... Still got to finish painting e driver, lights, install servo n esc n hope that we can a race soon.... Thanks for viewing....
  6. U can actually choose not to paint it... Tamiya has included a camo decal that you can use straight away.
  7. I hope too for you, the bearing are for the 1st production run kits.
  8. Not a problem alfettalimo..... Juz put a credit....... I trying to get a original FAV to stripped down and compare the parts again anyway.....
  9. More pics of which parts would you like to see? I will try to take they
  10. Nope.... U din missed anything.... There's only 8pcs of bearings. Enough for the wheels but not for the 2 in the gearbox.
  11. Yes....dogbones like e rere frog w boot cover
  12. Oh yes.... The front left wheel.... Thanks for pointing that out..... Will go correct it later..... Ya... If u exclude painting the driver... Put on e camo decal tamiya provided... It can be up n running within the day.... But i am still thinking about which camo pattern to paint thus this FAV will remain this way till i can decide on the pattern...
  13. still havent decided on the camo pattern to use..... and hopfully we can have a FAV race in Aug...
  14. ok.... i got my FAV & i started the build already... i cant give any comparsion to the original FAV as i do not have one to begin with.... the Bonus part
  15. Personally, i dun mind the time n effort taken to restore a vintage, especially when they turn out nice, juz like how they look when they 1st came out.... most of the time, the cars i got are usually used, unclean,no boxart, missing parts....etc.... u get the drift? so when i finish up a resotration, i am very pleased when i can get them back to the original state..... i do run my vintages once in while... supershot, 88avante, dyna blaster have all taken part in a vintage race......
  16. Next up was the body.... decided to use Bright Mica Red instead rear bed sprayed black instead of body color test fit the rear bed and front cabin to check the color uniform mounted on the chassis with the wheels & tires Side indicators painted, touch up.... clear coat applied.... side by side with the Tundra that's all for the moment... till i could source the decals, missing parts... she gonna stay on the shelf.... as usual.... comments are welcome thanks for viewing
  17. And the restoration begins old bearings replace with new bearings clean up of all metal parts... before n after re-assembly of the chassis
  18. putting on layers of primer.... next up.... was the main chassis itself tires cracked in bits & pieces The gearbox was also stripped apart
