  1. With these rims, this car has ample ground clearance. Assuming I can get it dialed in, this thing will be a beast
  2. Thanks folks
  3. So I'm getting tired of the cardboard and needlenose trick for building my shocks. I'm ready to spend the money on some decent shock pliers. What do you folks use? I'm not interested in the Tamiya style with the hinge at the end. I'm leaning towards the Losi, but I hate the idea of spending money on a tool I can't touch first.
  4. " HPI Racing Vintage 5-Spoke Wheel 26mm Matte Chrome" Part number 3815 "HPI Racing Vintage 5-Spoke Wheel 31mm Matte Chrome" Part number 3820
  5. They have a good resemblance to an American Racing Torq Thrust and an Astro Supreme. Perfect for the pumpkin
  6. It's a 132h servo. The diff is terribly loose No foams, tires aren't glued I've seen a few old school pan bodies on ebay. Rj speed has an old torino body I'm interested in. The t plate may be set up badly as well. The only flex is from the rear joint to the pod. I think the tweak screws area just way out of adjustment.
  7. HPI has a couple styles that I think would look perfect depending on how you finish the truck.
  8. "Leave alone" famous last words on TC
  9. The lexan looks great. I had a monster beetle. The hard bodies look good but I hate them for running (and I won't have a shelf queen)
  10. Love it so far. Were it me, I'd get a matching spare.
  11. I didn't think about Custom Works. Awesome. Thanks
  12. It's 1/10 scale. Tires are deformed as well as cracked. And no foams, not glued to rims. Diff is very loose. May just have been tossed together from parts. The rims are what I'm excited about. The rest of the car is in too good of shape to be a parts car though. I could never see myself owning a shelf queen.
  13. The tires are 4wd buggy units. Duratrax has some street treads that would look great. If they fit. Don't really have a direction yet. Thought it was gonna be a parts car, but it's too nice
  14. So I was looking around ebay and found this rc10l. I really only wanted it for the tires, so I let it go. It was immediately relisted at a lower starting price. I bit and got it for like $60 shipped. Tires are dry rotted Pro Lines. Wheels I cannot identify. The aluminum parts are a bit corroded, and the lower pod plate is scuffed badly. But overall is in really good shape.
  15. More power is always better.
  16. Hmmm. I'll look into this
  17. That gray is sweet
  18. I'm trying to run HPI monster ss rims on my Willy. As with the first time I tried this, the rear axles are a little too short. The nuts engage, but only go halfway before bottoming out. Is there a slightly longer drive axle I can swap these for?
  19. Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I have a question about this motor. My local track is starting an oval spec class for the BoLink/RJ Speed Legend cars, using this motor. Does it have timing? I'd like to run it on the left side of the chassis for weight bias, which means I have to run it in reverse.
  20. Wouldn't the oven cleaner trick take the plating off?
  21. I'm a helping hand user as well. $4 at Big Lots
  22. I wonder if there's been a shift from people seeking their own stuff versus people re selling. Sends a lot of the vintage stuff I look at, the sellers seem to know nothing about.
  23. Sneak peek at my newest eBay score. A set of Imex Jumbo Dawgs. I've wanted these since forever. Finally. But what's up with the way the tread meets in the middle?
  24. Why does it need to be held down? Everything I've read on the third shock mod is that it's done to prevent the axle from slapping and jerking. I'd think a shock without a spring and a firm setting should work fine to control the action. Or maybe two, one at each end.
