Monster Beetle, today one more piece
emory70 replied to mastino's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I thought everything that could have General Lee paintjob, did. I was wrong, and I love it. -
So I'm looking around Craigslist for rc stuff and found a peculiar ad. The title and description say Losi rc car, but the pictures don't jive with any Losi I've seen. Appears to be mostly complete. $125. Contacted seller. We'll see what happens

Clodbuster motors
emory70 replied to sparkysx's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
A Clod can be built to go as fast as you can afford to make it go. I've heard from guys that have 4100kv brushless systems and Lipos hitting 40+ mph. And those are relatively mild nowadays -
DIY Clodbuster Mods
emory70 replied to Peachgrower's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
The Crawford Performance Engineering Flashback chassis is a sweet unit, but I'm not sold on the looks. But it's the only new retro chassis on the market, and a bit cheaper than any of the old school designs still available -
The Best And Worst Rc Car You Ever Had ?
emory70 replied to wilo in aus's topic in General discussions
Best: Monster Beetle Worst: Losi Mini LST2 -
Bromvw, just in case you didn't know, the "American Graffiti 55 was also the same exact car that was in 2 Lane Blacktop. In my opinion, it was a much better looking car in its first appearance

Newest Clod build Bearfoot monster truck
emory70 replied to Zac_F83's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Yeah, I'm getting that chassis -
The old chassis like the clodzilla are great in a retro truck. But I'd personally suggest Crawford Performance Engineering (CPE). Their Fashback, Predator, and Terminator are some of the best chassis you can get. They also have many other nearly vital Clod parts and upgrades

Newest Clod build Bearfoot monster truck

Always love to see a Clod build -
Dude, it's the apocalypse. No points for shiny bits

Decent rims will be a challenge

My lunchbox in first grade (1975-1976) was Speed Buggy. For those unfamiliar, think Scooby Doo with a talking dune buggy instead of a dog. And racing instead of monster hunting
-
My idea had we been doing zombie officially was to build an anti zombie lunchbox that was then taken by the zombies themselves. Would fit the driving characteristics of the 'Box.

I saw something the other day about personalized action figures. Like you can get yourself

Blazing blazer will not be reissuesd, confirmed!
emory70 replied to mcovalsk's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Pretty simple. They will or they won't. Until you can hold it in your dirty little hands, whatever some guy posts on the Internet means NOTHING. -
I've posted about this idea before, and either I'm totally wrong or I've not explained it correctly. The 3rd shock. Why does it need to be a coil over? All it does is damp axle rotation. Seems to me that a straight oil shock would work for that purpose. This came from my own Lunchbox 3rd shock mod, seeing how the gearbox hits the coilover at max compression. I liked your solution of the inboard cantilever setup

I have a thing for Lunchboxes and the WW2. I know your dilemma. To improve the vehicle while keeping its character. Awesome work so far

Since I'm out, I'll let the cat out of the bag. This is what I was going to (and will eventually) build. The Roadkill Muscle Truck

I need to remove myself from the list of contestants. I'm sure I'll build the vehicle one day anyway. Just not now. I want to focus on my Clod bodied Trail Stomper instead.

Back to the subject of handling versus fun... I had an Associated TC3 Factory Team car back in 1999. Put a 67 Camaro body on it, threw a 9 turn motor at it, and hit the parking lot. It worked so well, I couldn't get it to break loose without effort. Scary fast and totally predictable. It was the most boring rc car I ever had.

Damaged windows and rusty chrome would help. Maybe a missing section of bumper. One headlight?
