One suggestion. Don't forget that battery trays love to rust out. To have the battery half falling through a rusty hole would be a great touch (my second beetle had such an issue, repaired with a piece of wood, which is another option).

I've looked into the RC4WD trans, but if I get the CPE Barbarian chassis, there won't be anything left of the original kit. Like building a mod Clod.
But yeah, I'm sure I'll get it.

CPE just released a new chassis, if you haven't heard already. It's not the prettiest, but it's CPE. It's quality and it's inexpensive. I'm thinking of redirecting my Predator build into one of these

My first ww2 had the wide willy mod. If you can deal with the silly look of it being significantly wider than it is long, it's a riot.

Just a couple weeks ago I pulled my Wraith kit off the shelf and started putting it together. Just the axles so far. I've had the kit for over a year, and could never get a plan together.
Not a big fan of crawling, but I do like the CKRC Blazer and Bronco bodies. From watchingTop Truck videos, I knew the scx10 is tough, so I'm not worried about the Wraith if left mostly stock. But then I saw the CPE Barbarian. But then expensive mods are needed. It's bad enough my Clod is gonna be a $1200+ build.
Looking forward to this build. Maybe I'll be inspired to take a direction with mine

I think it'd be a great idea, but I just don't see lunchbox parts being that sought after. This is the only place I go for lunchbox info.

I had a couple rc18t trucks when they first came out. Amazing little things. Supplied pin spikes were trash, and am radio is archaic now, but even stock with just a couple simple tricks, a very fun ride. Disappointed the new ones are belt dive. Shaft all the way for me.

I found a metal shopping cart that was intended to be a flower pot holder or something. It was about 1/4 scale. I used pan car parts to make it rc. Like a go cart almost. Silly but quite entertaining

I had them. They were hybrid wheels. Pro Line made some aluminum rims in the early 90s, but I'd hate ti think what they'd cost now

I have some RPM front wheels for a mini t. Oddly enough, they accept pan car front bearings. But the diameter us a bit small.
I had a Tamiya Toms way way back, and it had 12mm hexes on the back. And used the ubiquitous 5x11mm bearings. But the 3 gear left a little to be desired.
I know I can find/make bushings to adapt the axle. The biggest issue is the rear hex mount. I've even considered the old monster truck truck of modifying the wheels instead of the axle.
What no Axial Wraith Builds ? - better sort that out then !
