  1. Update on the resto. Got the glass through the post that was smashed, super glued the offside corner of the front screen. You will never see the damage as its hidden by the shells pillar. I used a spare part i had to act as an aerial holder. Also used the inner of a trigger spray bottle for the aerial tube. Works perfect. I fixed the spotlights to the nose cone using some mecano strips, securing them into the back of the headlight bowls. All good peeps. Body is flat and ready for primer now also. I was thinking about either painting her in the original red or maybe a 70's orange! what do you think?
  2. thanks connor, much appreciated. Ross
  3. Ive put a lot of work in with wet 'n' dry though. Ive just purchased the 51000 tamiya servo saver kit, thought it looked stronger. It was cheaper as well In the meantime i'll just keep on rubbing.
  4. Thanks Berman, just to check before purchase then. Is this the right part?. (the clip on the left). Getting there with the shell. Got to get some more Mr M. This thing is caked in paint.
  5. Thanks for the welcome all! Charged up the battery and tested the car. Got no response from the front end. So opened her up and evently found that part E9 of page 5 from the manual appears to be missing. Must of took a good knock i suppose all them years ago. My description of this would be, the thick plastic circlip type thingy holding together the splined steering servo piece to the track rod coupling? Can anyone please assist in pointing me in the right direction to locate one? very important to get this project rolling. I'd rather not make one. Ive just won some window glass off flea bay today to. cheers.
  6. Hey all. Newbie on board... After many years, I have finally dug out my old Monster beetle from the loft, with the intention of restoring it back to its original state for my son (and me ) to enjoy. Ive managed to locate most of the smaller body parts like the number plate light housing, spot lights, rear lights etc... Parts so far that i require to replace are: wiper arms, window, front lights, decals. It was MB red when my dad first built her for me, however for some reason throughout the 90's i wrecked it by coating her in luminous yellow, pink, and matt black . Because of this i have firstly paid attention to the shell. i got myself some Mr muscle and started to strip it back. Found that it is white plastic. yet to charge up the battery and test her. I do remember having trouble with it though? i'll keep you posted.
