TBH, not really sure these days. I have been going to a place recently called Hobbytech in Myaree. They have a good range of lots of stuff, including random RC spares and tools. It's on Leach Highway, next to a JB Hifi store.

.......good start

About the wife. Try this. "This RC car? Oh I've had it for years, it was stored in the back shed/attic" -
Nice NovaFox, like the colour choice. I went box art on mine, also beefed up the servo saver and steering links.

I'd like to see Pintopower do a review of it.

Not really. There is a family of Australian Magpies that I feed regularly. My place is part of their territory. Sometimes one or two of them will come and check out/chase my cars if I'm using them. Pretty harmless really. When I'm out and about with one of my cars someones dog will come and have a look, growl, bark or chase it. I usually stop the car and wait, have a pleasant chat with the dog owner, usually letting them know that it's all good. I often run my cars in a park which is a shared environment. So I'm careful and look out for the kiddies and doggos. Should a dog catch and damage my car, well sucks to be me then, and I'll just go and fix it. The dog owners around here are usually very concerned about damage to the cars, which is nice of them really. Edit: We also (my brother and I) have drones. The local birdlife often come in to try and see them off. We ground the drone immediately. Don't want to hurt the birds.

I love the original 201 chassis, even if it is a metric B4.Come to think of it, that's probably why...

Two things, Item is out of stock, and, Does not ship to Orrstralia. Oh well. Ok Mr Hiroshi J Tamiya, don't make me beg, cause I will. Please do one in English.....or I'll have to finally get around to learning kamji, and nobody wants that. -
That **** resistor, I even put the warning stickers on myself, and here we are.....ouch!

Are we the only ones keeping the R/C history alive?

Yeah, I bought my kids a buggy each back around 2007-8. They were both Tamiya kits and they liked them well enough and enjoyed building them. They played with them a fair bit but over time stopped playing with them. I got the buggies back and reconditioned them as well as putting new electrics and tx/rx set up. Once again used them a bit and then .....stopped. Possibly just not their thing really. Then again as young adults they have their own lives to deal with. Maybe they'll go back to them when they are older. I think I had a point to this post but I've forgotten what it was.... -
Your posts in this thread are gold Juggular. Great work.

Great work with this one. The Wild One/FAV is arguably the best looking buggy Tamiya ever made. They drive great too for what they are.

The DT-02 is a great car. Not perfect, but then again no car is. It's a good starting point. It's what I got my youngest son years ago, he still has it albeit with a reconditioning a few years ago by yours truly. It should be easy enough for you to put a crawler motor in it to slow it down a bit. I'm not sure if suggested or not but the Flysky FS-GT3C is a great 2.4ghz radio kit for the price. It has a load of features including end point adjustments, so you could slow it down that way too.

On a more serious note, there's a lot of good suggestions in here. As far as independent susp goes, a DT-02 or DT-03 are good options. They both show how far Tamiya has come as far as entry level/hop-uppable buggies are concerned.
