  1. I have a 1:1 Toyota Celica GT-Four. done a fair bit of work on it over the years, last dyno run saw 315bhp.
  2. I'm sure its been discussed before but the search didnt bring much up. Whats the best way to go about removing every other padle on the tyres?
  3. I was also wondering about this recently. Is there an alternative to having to buy the whole rere Frog/Brat C parts at over £10 just for the pinion cover?
  4. Yes I am, I use the same user name on alot of forums.
  5. I think that body could be saved with a decent paint job, clear windows & a driver. Looks more like a proper buggy than most modern RC's do.
  6. They look alot like Williams Honda FW-11M F1s wheels. http://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?c...92&id=20068
  7. Not sure about your speed controller problem but this is the correct pinion if you with to upgrade to a 540 size motor http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Tamiya-18T-Pi...p/ta3515006.htm Edited link.
  8. Having a clear out & here I have a load of Mardave Meteor stuff. The car on the left has the long wheel base gold chassis conversion & lexan shell that goes with it. This car is missing the dampers all round but there is a very nice set on the middle swb car that could be fitted. This was my runner until i got carried away with my motor choice & the gearbox had the usual melt down where the pin that holds the red spur gear melted through the gearbox case. There are a three other gearboxes in this lot & two of the red spur gears so this could be made into a runner easliy. The car in the centre is what remains of a largly unused stock SWb meteor, so all of the parts attached to this are in good condition. The car on the right is the remains of what was my baja runner, thats has taken a lot of abuse but still hase a few usable spares on it. Everthing in the pictures is included in the sale, the original box has been fixed with gaffa tape on one corner & there is an original instruction book too. I'm open to offers on this, I would like to sell the whole lot in one go rather than in bits. I accept paypal & can post to anywhere in the UK at the buyers expense. I'm new to trading on tamiya club but i have a good rating on ebay of 689 transactions, 100% positive feedback, user account gtfourwrc. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I might be open to trade for any hop up parts for the following cars, Frog, lunchbox, kyosho big brute & ansmann mad rat.
  9. The Sand Scorcher (Grasshopper) & Superchamp (Hornet) rear tyres can be stretched to fit over Brat wheels. Though you may well have problems with the tyres rubbing on the steering if you put either of thes on the front of a Brat. The choice of tyres for stock wheels is pretty limited as most modern buggy's use larger 2.2" wheels. You can buy 12mm hex adaptors to run new style wheels on the old tamiya buggy's but it kind of spoils the retro look IMO.
  10. That race vid looks superb! On the subject of the super hornet, what improvent can be made to the handling? I'm trying to help a friend with his, it seems like its too fast for itself. Its running a stock 540 motor yet its alot quicker thatn most of my buggies that have 21 turn motors. The main problem is the hornets frequent roll overs. Could the gearing be altered to reduce the speed?
  11. You are right, the LB is only good upto a certain speed. After that you break something almost every time you run it. I find with a bit less power the wheelies are longer too. I noticed last night when stripping down the gearbox thet there was an excessive ammount of play in the small bearing in the counter gear. This I believe has also contributed to the cogs slipping, I have new gears to put in but I'm now wating on a new bearing. To be fair to the LB, this is the first gearbox rebuild i have done & i have had the car since 1989!
  12. I'll be interested to see how long the gears last running the brushless motor. I have been running a 14turn brushed motor in my LB since the start of the year & its has just chewed up the gears. Also the strain on the wheely bar caused the original gearbox case to split around all of the screw holes. I have decided to tone it down now witth a 21 turn motor.
