  1. Yes, your right The headlights on the peterbilt are similar to those used on the Knight but its definitely based on the Freightliner isn't it. It's a very smart truck. I'm looking forward to getting the truck now.
  2. That does look very similar! I also found this peterbilt which looks along the same lines as the Knight hauler.
  3. yes I've seen those on ebay but was worried about buying from hong kong. The Knight hauler is about £70 cheaper and the mfu about £80 cheaper as you say. Were you pleased with the delivery and service etc????
  4. I want a knight hauler. I'm going to the spalding model truck show on Feb 21st. Will there be any companies selling them there where I can get a cheaper deal maybe. I want to try to get enough money together to buy the mfu as well as many of you on here have said its much easier to fit while building the truck rather than retro-fit.
  5. Thanks for that Just got to keep on saving the pennys until the end of January now!!
  6. Just wondering if the Knight hauler was based on a particular truck or weather it is just a generic american big rig. I'm going to buy one in january as a birthday present to myself!. I will buy a mfu as well. Are there different mfu's for different trucks or is it one that fits all?
  7. Here are 3 pictures of the 1:3 scale M.A.N. truck. (the mig welder isn't a permanent fixture!) as you can see it's still in it's very early stages but all of the radio controlled bits work. The steering, accelerater, choke, clutch actuater, light switch and engine starter / stop. I've just started building the cab. The real M.A.N. in the picture is what I am aiming for it to look something like.
  8. I took a couple yesterday. I'll take some more tomorrow and post them on here.
  9. Just thought I would introduce myself. I'm Steve, I live in Rochester Kent at the moment but in the process of moving to Knoxbridge Kent where my partner has just taken over a garden centre. I've always had an interest in r/c trucks but since becoming disabled through illness have taken this up as my main hobby. I already had a King hauler and a very cheap copy of one also called king hauler but about eighth of the price!. The fake one I've just started cutting up and extending the chassis to make into a recovery truck and will change all the radio gear and running gear. I am also in the process of building an offroad camper truck based on the M.A.N. truck built on a tractor mower chassis and engine. This one is 1:3 scale, so quite a big beasty. And last of all I'm building a american motorhome from scratch which is 1:12 scale. Which one I work on each day depends on my mood or mobility!! I hope to make it to some of the meets next year and where I'm moving to has plenty of land as well as a carpark and a small road around the site, so maybe I can hold a small meet for trucks there next year. I've been very disappointed by the lack of clubs and magazines that cater for r/c trucks like the king hauler, knight hauler, scanias and the like. Most Magazines and clubs cater for Aircraft, boats or Monster truck rock climbing type vehicles or racing. Having read this forum, there seems to be a wide selection of vehicle which is great to see!.
