  1. Superb condition. Give me your Best offer, item is located in Denmark. Pics coming soon. UPDATED:
  2. Well, I see the motormount alone go for prices like the high £40's.
  3. Hi guys, I'm thinking about selling my TA02... It's an RS with all options installed, and in overall good condition. It's missing it's right battery holder thingy and the center shaft is a little bit odd/not 100% straight. Anyways here are some pics And do keep in mind it is full option, with the option of beeing upgraded with Carbon Fiber plates. The sport tuned is also in great shape, near mint. EDIT: By full option I mean, other than the factory included bits of niceness the following Tamiya hop-up option parts have also been installed: FRP damper stays, front and rear FRP Chassis Super low friction dampers Carbon gear shafts Full set of sealed Tamiya bearings Alu motor mount Alu hex hubs Ajustable upper arms Alu c-hub carriers Alu knuckles (Think these are early GPM?)
  4. More updates! Added 2 towerpro servo's yesterday and hoocked up the lights again. also added wide front wheels and tyres, great!
  5. More pics of the current status: Chassis overview: Added the second steering axle: Shortend rails, and added the old bumper/rear end: Getting closer... The right "cooling tower": Test fit: Fins... More fins! Test fitting again: This is about it for now
  6. Hi guys! This is my first ever Tamiya 1:14 truck, been wanting to build one for ages I traded to this LS 1838, decided to rebuild it, converting it into an 8*4 heavy haul truck, inspired by this fine truck from the Netherlands: Decided that I wanted to share my building with you guys So far, I have installed new chassis rails, extra steering axle, longer driveshaft, raised the cabin 8 mm. have also started construction of the "tower" behind the cab. Here goes The tiny original truck: Will add more later
  7. Oh but I do Wht it is will have to wait to be shown. it's a kind of tamiya that I have never owned before.
  8. I've sold the Bruiser... Could not see myself finding time to restore it to the level it deserved. So I'm sad to say that this will be the last update in this thread. /henrik
  9. Yeah, I was one of the hopers But yes, you are right - it's all about having fun
  10. Interesting re-re's for sure, but man did I wish for an Egress re-release on that 58500 Was more than ready to cough up the big bucks for thus one, well can't win everytime I have no real "relations" to the pajero or the rover, but the blitzer is great fun to drive.
  11. Small but great news on the update front! I inspected the front axle further today, and found a small error/dimple in the casting, where the inner bearing for the pinon gear seats. This means that the bearing will not fully seat, causing the gears to grind and be very tight. I "shaved" off the excess material, re-seated the bearing, smoothed out the sharp edges on the bevel and pinion and re-lubed it all upon re assembly. Now the gears turn smooth and freely like intended. I placed a few shims on the pinon axle between the outer pinion bearing and the uni joint, this way the gears will not grind when the suspension compresses. GREAT SUCCESS /henrik
  12. hehe... Glad I "forced" you to dig out all the old parts I think the new 3 speeders looks wrong in every way regarding the axles and wheels - it's the realism part that I find fun. I have yet to enjoy driving a real vintage Hilux, but I'm sure I'm gonna try it at some point in time. Yes, a new new hilux could be fun modding to "briser standards" with some rcchannel axles and so on. But that's next year and some saving away I have decided to give my vintage shell another chance, we will have to see how that goes. If it turns out nice the it's good, if not then I have some new skills to improve on.
  13. It should be possible to get in touch with them via ebay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/rcchannelshop), unfortunately I do not see the Bruiser axles in there. /henrik
  14. Yeah, that's my opinion too. This shell is not worth the sacrifice of my hard work I'm actually tempted at trading this old thing to a high-lift, but then again these old 3 speeders have that "something" the new ones just don't. The gearbox, axles and the chassis it self is som much nicer in my oppinion. The new gearboxes might work beter, I don't know. /henrik Thanks And thanks to all the people who contribute, especially TamiyaDan. I think this thread is going to cover most Bruiser issues when I get done with it /henrik
  15. And another small update Did some test paint removing today... Should never have started lol! There is an even harder coat of blue paint under the yellow... There are _multiple_ "hairline" fractures running from the big crack in the fender. The groves in the blue paint are wide and I guess some kind of chemical reaction happened when it was painted yellow, explaining the thick coat, I can detect 2-3-4 layers of yellow paint. I have a feeling this shell is going to be a runner, and look like the hilux from top-gear anyway, here are some more pictures! Btw. I used nail polish remover (yes acetone), this is in general NOT a good idea on ABS shells, if you leave it on for just a tad too long it attacks the plastic, making it bendy and slowly breaking it down! In fact I know that people here in Denmark uses LEGO bricks and acetone, making a "putty" being used for mending holes in plastic boats - the melted LEGO's cure once the acetone has vaporized Anyway, it was the only substance in our household that could remove some the paint. /henrik
  16. Yikes! Yeah that pot metal is some brittle stuff. I seriously consider some aftermarket axles, since I want to run some narrower tires and wheels anyway, and I don't like the idea of modding the original axles.
  17. I've been a lexan man since I broke my first Monster Beetle shell in the early 90's but yes, the chassis is clearly ment to be driven, the shell is not There are only the 2 typical shims on the bevel gear and none on the pinion gear.
  18. Body inspection... Had a chance today to dismantle the body and inspect it further... Somebody had fun The cab has been severed from the bed's edges, and the rest is cracked. The A pillar is cracked, cracked fender, cracked windshield and various other small cracks. All in all not super condition, but everything is fixable Here are some pic's of all the gory glory: /henrik
  19. The axle looks straight and the pins are parallel, so it's not twisted. But is seems as the housing is not 100% straight, so when it's all tightened down, it want's to bend the axle (we are talking 100/mm, it's next to nothing). The teeth on the bevel gear seem a little rough on the outer edge. I'm quite sure the gears run too tight - when I pull the input shaft, rotation is much more free but still not enough. I feel like the problem would be solved by moving the bevel like 0,5mm. I'll try to measure later to see if the bevel has slipped. Again, thanks for all your input /henrik
  20. That sounds fairly simple, I'm sure I can work something out As for the tront axle I have discovered a new issue, the axle does not rotate freely and the ring and pinion gears are "grinding". It seems more or "impossiblean to shim the issue away. Any words of advice here? I am planning to change all bearings to ball bearings, that might remove some of the "binding" when rotatong the axle, then when the pins are out anyway I might be able to shim a little. /henrik
  21. That's a good point. Is this only a front driveline issue, or does this go for the rear as well? I have inspected the brass uni's and the one for the front is in excellent condition, whereas the rear one is more or less worn out. maybee you can provide a "booted" picture? /henrik
