Thanks for that i'm not too bothered about the plug because I can just cut the wires on the new led and the one that is already in and connect them to run off the existing plug/cable.

I am wanting an extra 3mm white led (back light with grey and white wires) does anyone have any idea if anyone sells them in the UK. I have looked on a well known auction website but there isnt anything listed that I can find. the part number is 7175099. or is there a different source for that I can use?

I have got a 3 axle reefer and I am wanting 2 rims and tyres for the tyre rack at the back of the trailer where can I get them from? the only ones I have found are the aluminium wheels at about £45 a pair, and all I really want is the plastic type that come with the kit. any help appreciated. Thanks

Gearbox problem sorted running sweet as now on every gear only took about 1.5 hours of messing about but I am ashamed to admit it was my fault because I put the 30 tooth gear the wrong way round when I originally built it so when the gear was selected it wasn't meshing thus no power I ended up stripping the whole thing down to get to the gear but lesson learnt.

Thanks for that i'll give it a go tomorrow and report back.

Hi Knotty The build isn't going too bad at all I am painting some of the body work at the moment which is proving difficult due to the weather. I am a bit concerned about the gearbox it has gone together well but when I connected it to the servo and tried it with the remote second and third run freely but when I change down to first and apply power the drive shaft dosent turn every time there are no tight spots so it must be a very small missallignent because I can hear the motor turning or am I missing something else? might find a bit of time tomorrow to investigate. I am really impresed with the quality of the kit and I am enjoying building it.

Ordered on line just before christmas and arrived today from http://verkerk.modelbouw-onlineshop.nl/ind...02c5de203fce421 considering christmas and bank holiday etc pretty quick I think and they look spot on. I have already drilled the bodywork using a handheld twist drill and I have filled the old holes and filed them back flat with the shell. Including postage with the exchange rate given by paypal it was only just over £20 and it's going to improve the look of the truck by a long way I think, just need to finish building it now. Sorry about the poor quality photos from my phone.

I have got some ball bearings for the scania R470 my question is this, In the kit I have there are replacement bearings for part number MD5 that go into the gearbox in the instructions it says not to replace these bearings with ball bearings. If these bearings cannot be replaced then why are they in the kit? and if the bearings can be replaced then do I still glue the outer side of the ball bearing with instant cement. Many Thanks

Thanks again i'll use a 7.2V then better safe than sorry

Thanks for the quick response what would happen if I put a 9.6v 650mAh cadmium battery on?
-
Hello Just a quick question, sorry if this is sounds a bit dim but here goes. In the instructions on page 4 it says never connect the receiver battery as this may cause damage to the unit. On the same page the wiring diagram sees to suggest that a 7.2v battery should be connected directly to the MFC. So does this mean that I need one battery for the MFC and one for the receiver or just the one 7.2v for the MFC and if it is just the one battery what will power the receiver? Needig 2 batteries makes more sense to me but I have no experience of the MFC. Thanks

Has anybody used the company that is linked above? if so how long did it take for the items to arrive?

I went to Morley Model Centre and you are quite right they only order them in about a 3/4 week wait! TBH I wouldnt go near modelzone for something like this I dont think they are specialised enough so I rang Modelsport UK in Otley they had one in they also had the MFC They couldnt match the Morley model centre price but as they had it in stock and where only £20 quid more I went there and I was impressed by their service, When I went in the truck and the MFC where on one side with my name on with a note about the small discount I was given, I took the ballbearings as well. So far I have got to build stage 5 the servos are done and the chassis is built. By the look of ot the next 15 stages are going to be the ones to take my time over.

Morley Models it is the cheapest round here

Thanks for the replies I have seen a Futaba combo deal for £164.99 it includes the following 1 x 6EX Transmitter 2.4Ghz (Complete with battery and charger) 1 x R606FS 2.4GHz receiver 1 x 700Mah receiver battery 4 x S3003 servo's Is the battery powerful enough at 700Mah or should I look at something that has a higher rating?

Hello I am new to model trucking, I am going to get a Scania R470 with an Multi Funtion Control Unit. The question is I have seen 2 offers on the internet they are both the same price the difference is that one offer comes with a tamiya speed control and a Acoms techniplus 4 channel controller, the other has a Hitec laser 4 channel and a Modelsport UK Sniper RV-20 Auto by Mtroniks. Has anybody got any advice as to which speed control unit is better as I assume there wont be much of a difference in the controllers? Also is it better to fit ball bearings rather than the ones that come in the box and would it be better to fit oil filled dampers? I won be using the truck for racing or any extreme use it's just for the house/garden. An other advice about building/painting would also be welcomed. Thanks in advance.
