Hi Guys, Have just finished a Super Sabre body set, this is the first one in over 20 years. Has anybody got any tips on positioning the decals in the correct place, a couple of mine don't seem to line up correctly. I got the Super Sabre to go on to my Boomerang chassis, Its like having two different cars, but much cheaper! Cheers Dougan

Hi, Has anybody got a pair of rear wheels for the Boomerang/Hotshot they would like to sell. I am in the UK and can pay via Paypal. Cheers Dougan

Hi guys, Thanks to everyone who has replied, its nice to know that I can depend on the forum fo advice. This is my first restoration, and may well be my last! I have spent a small fortune on new parts and still I have to find more parts to finish it. Going back to the front suspension rubbing the wheels. I already have the 4 new front wishbones, at great expense! Now it seems I need new ball joints and everything else associated with it. Please could someone tell me exactly what I need to cure this problem. part numbers etc, and which cars use the same front suspension parts. Thanks again, Dougan

Hi Mike, I stripped and lubed the gearbox as part of the rebuild, and also stipped it again to double check. Every thing looks ok, but this is all new to me, first rebuild and that. The diff looks ok, all gears and cogs look pretty wear free, but I wouldn't know the difference between a good and worn one! Dougan quote: Originally posted by Twmaster I would disassemble the front diff and make sure you don't have a damaged or severely worn diff. While apart it would also be a great time to clean and relube the gears. id="quote">id="quote">

Hi Screwbag, Many thanks for the information, much appreciated. Sorry I can't help you with the drive gear. Cheers Dougan quote: Originally posted by screwbag that lower arm should not be hitting the rim. when I got my boomer the lower arm was almost worn through from hitting the rim, so I replaced the arms and everything is fine. This rubbing is almost surely caused by worn out front end parts, or the front rim is warped. your gears sound fine to me. While I have your attention do you happen to have a spare drive gear for that car? I stripped mine a couple of weeks ago and can't find a replacement.thanks hope this info helps. id="quote">id="quote">

Hi Guys, Me again! I have finally put power to the Boomerang and yet again another snag. The right side wheel (looking head on) does not rotate very well. I have noticed that the bottom suspension arm rests against the inside of the wheel rim, is this normal? When I move the arm away from the rim it turns ok, but as soon as it rubs against it, it stops. I wouldn't think that the slight rubbing would have been enough to stop it turning. When I rotate the other front wheel by hand, the drive shaft turns the back wheels. When I do the same to the suspect wheel, the drive shaft does not turn, only the other front wheel. Could this be a diff. problem? I stripped the gearbox and everything looked ok, but I am no expert!

Thanks guys for all the information.[^] I have done what you have suggested and it is much improved.[] Cheers dougan quote: Originally posted by Dougan Hi guys, Sorry if this seems a stupid question, I am rebuilding a Boomerang and have noticed that when I push the front of car down, the front wheels spread eagle outwards at a alarming angle. Surely the front wheels should remain straight when the front suspension is working. I have stripped it down and rebuilt it again, but it is exactly the same. Any thoughts on this would be most helpful. Cheers Dougan id="quote">id="quote">

Hi Mike, Many thanks for letting me know! If you do come across a arm set, let me know. Cheers Dougie quote:Originally posted by TwmasterNo the arms are not the same. I would hate for you to buy my arm set and they not work! [] id="quote">id="quote">

Hi, Is the Bigwig front suspension arms compatible with the Boomerang, they look similar. A ebay auction finishes in a few hours, so a quick reply would be appreciated. Cheers Dougan

Thanks for the info guys. I have purchased the screw pins, because I really only need the longest ones. Thanks again, Dougan

Hi, Would the screw pin bag for the Boomerang be the same as the one for the Hotshot? I know the numbers are different but the screw pins look very similar. I want to make sure because there is a set on ebay for the Hotshot, so I won't bid for them if they don't fit the Boomerang. Cheers Dougan

Hi, Has anyone got a spare 14/15 tooth pinion gear for the Boomerang. Cheers Dougan

Hi, Is the Sport Tuned RS-540 motor worth uprgading to from the standard 540 motor? What is different about it? Is £15 nib a fair price? Will the M.troniks Eco-27 ESC be ok to run it? What is the most useful upgrade for Lancia 037 Rally, I have already ordered a full set of bearings. Cheers Dougan

Hi guys, Many thanks for your information. The seller has kindly offered to refund my money. Cheers Dougan quote: Originally posted by Dougan Hi, I have just received these rear wheels through ebay, described to fit the Boomerang. On closer inspection they will not fit, having the 4 raised nubs inside the wheel. They also seem to have to many holes around the rim. Could someone please tell me which car they are from and could I return them to the seller for not fitting the Boomerang. The link to the wheels is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...gory=44019&rd=1 Cheers Dougan id="quote">id="quote">

Hi, Which size pinion gear would be most suitable for my Boomerang? It came with a 17 tooth one, would it be better with a smaller 14 tooth cog? It will be running on grass and not on the road. Are most of the Tamiya pinion cogs compatiable with the Boomerang? Has anybody got a spare pinion cogs? Cheers Dougan

Hi, Can someone explain why the rear wheels and tyres for the Boomerang/Hotshot are so hard to come by. There have been more nib front wheels and tyres on ebay than you can shake a stick at! Is there a reason for this! As you can guess I have been after a rear set for a while! I have also been looking for the F tree, front suspension arms for my Boomerang. I paid £7 for nib rear ones, quite reasonable. I found a set in the States and bid up to £10, but I now see they have reached over £20! with the auction still running. I know its a supply and demand thing, but over £5 a arm! Cheers Dougan

Hi, Whats is the main differences between the Super Astute and the re-issue Dyna Storm? Does the Super Astute come with a motor and if so which type. Cheers Dougan

Hi, Has anybody got a spare F tree, which is the four front suspension arms, either new or in good used condition. Many thanks Dougan

Just to let you know this matter has now been resolved![] quote:Originally posted by DouganHi, I won a auction for a Boomerang R tree in Germany 4 days a ago. The seller has the paypal sign, so no problems in paying for it. The seller stated postage as 2 Euros within Germany, I realised the postage would be more. I have now emailed him every day requesting the postage costs, one even in German but have had no replys. This guy has had nearly 300 trades in the last month alone, all with positive feedback. Anybody have any advice on what to do next, how long do I give him to respond? Thanks Dougan id="quote">id="quote">
