  1. I don't remember who gave the tip but just wanted to thank them for the peanut butter trick! I had some tired and dry blackfoot tires which I thought were pretty much useless. I read on this forum that I could slather them with peanut butter, stick em in a ziplock bag for a few days, and they would be rejuvinated. I was a bit skeptical but figured I'd give it a try. The results were even better than I had hoped for! Thanks to all who posted on this topic and for the useful information on this forum!
  2. Yes patience is a virtue but unfortunately not one of my strong suits. I will keep a lookout. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for your input. I was planning on using it as a shelf queen and that is why I was interested in the aluminum posts that I thought I'd seen. Plastic would be fine too but either way I have been having a hard time finding them. I have been looking on ebay and unless I am mistaken there are zero available.
  4. Hello All, I think I rember seeing some anodized aluminum body posts for the Blackfoot. I was sondering if anyone could tell me where I can buy these? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  5. Thank you all for your suggestions. I almost put vaseline on the tires last week but thought I would poll you guys first before I made a mistake. SO glad I waited.
  6. Thanks OSR glad to be here having a blast reliving my youth!
  7. Hello All, I am restoring my old Tamiyas from my youth and I was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to do with the tires. Some are hard and some have a bit of mildew growing on them due to being stored in a damp basement. I will start by giving everything a good cleaning in sudsy water but I am curious what if anything any of you do to preserve tires. Is there any tipe of tire dressing you would recommend to keep tires from cracking or deteriorating? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
