THE HP FREAK

HI!... Well this is a project I started a long time ago. I started a thread about it but couldn't find it till after I did this one. I realized that some pics were missing and some pics were mixed up with other BigWig builds. So I figured I'd start this one from scratch to make sure it was right. I still have a few parts to get to fully complete this one. I still need a MSC, BEC, and a aluminum roof panel. The panel should be here next week. I already have a all black and original blue/white Bigwigs. So for this one, I decided to go green like the one you see in Tamiya's BigWig promotional video. Here's a few pics of the 3 BigWigs I have restored. "Shadow Edition" , "Slimer", and a Original.

HI!... Well I got some more work done on the RC10 DS this afternoon. Pretty much got it together. It's got all NIP electronics in it. The motor is almost new also. Only used 4-5 times. It's got 0.56 shocks on it but they are black plastic? I'm going to order two hard anodized 0.56 shock kits from AE in a bit to replace them. I've been on the search for a long time now for the proper chrome wheels but to no avail. So I might just skillfully paint these one's chrome with the gold wheel inserts. I still need to find the MSC resistor mount. I have all NIP MSC parts. Just need the black metal mount. I'll probably work on the body tomorrow. It's new but the previous owner painted it ALL black instead of the bottom section that needs to be green. I might try to get some green decals made up to fix that. I have new Mustang decals for it so I will have to peel off the one's the original owner applied. They were applied very poorly and not in the correct areas. k

HI!... So going stir crazy here not being able to do much because of my hand. So I said F#*k it and decided to work on the RC10 DS. I got the "C" stamp chassis back from the powder coaters. Looks great. :woohoo: This is as far as I have got. Stealth trans has all new internals. Whole car has full ball bearings. Still need to rebuild the shocks and add electronics to it.

HI!... Got the rear shock tower and the front/rear "A" Arms. These are NIP and were given to me with the car when I bought it. Well got the car torn apart tonight. Found I need to get some proper length hinge pins. Might make some at work. Ordered a gear cover, front wheels and the MSC servo mounts. Also bought a set of original RC10 DS Mustang decals. Well some parts came in for the RC10 DS today. I still need to get a Novak ESC and bring the chassis in for powder coating.

HI!... So I stripped the chassis down to bare and then glass beaded it getting it ready for gloss black powder coating.

HI!... Well I picked this RC 10 DS up awhile ago off ebay. The previous owner did some mods too it like installing the long front "A" arms and stock RC10 rear arms and shock tower on it. He gave me all the other RC10 DS parts for it minus the wheels/tires.

HI!... Well some more stuff showed up today. 3 sets of NIP Bigwig Moon Craft wheels, NIP set of BigWig decals, and a set of GPM aluminum rear arm mounts.

HI!... Just FYI the roof scoop front snorkel is mounted backwards. lol!

HI!... Well some people do race them or do top speed runs with them.

HI!... Percymon : Where did you get the Technigold decals from? I've been looking for a few. I have a few Technigold motors that are either missing them or the decals are in bad shape. Thanks : Neal.

HI!... O.k I go some more work done on the BigWig "Shadow Edition" tonight. Got the driver all painted up. I used a Avante driver's head, to give the driver a more "Stealth" look to go along with the theme of the car. I also got the steering boots installed and got the black powder coated roof panel installed. I still have to dye the CRP adjustable spring clamps. After that all I need to do is figure out what I'm going to do with decals.

HI!... So I picked up some RC parts I had powder coated black today after work. Guys quick. I dropped the parts off on Friday afternoon and they were done Monday morning. One RC10 Team car chassis/motor plate/front kick up, and on RC10 DS car chassis/motor plate/front kick up. Also the roof panel for my BigWig "Shadow Edition project. All this $20 cash.

HI!... I'm trying to find someone to make me a set of the stock decals but in grey scale.

HI!... The stock roof is currently out being powder coated black.

HI!... I want to go greyscale on original decals but can't find anyone that can do this for me...

HI!... O.k I got the PRO-TRACK sway bar installed and painted black. Currently painting the driver. I'm using a regular BigWig driver body but with a Avante head. You'll see why.

HI!... Well I got the BigWig body painted last night with some special flat black paint. Don't know if I like it. Because of painting the body from the inside it still came out gloss black. I'm 50/50 on it right now. I might end up painting the outside of the body like EDOU did on his Black Wolf Top Force project. I like that look better. I picked up a NIP BigWig roof panel and vintage Pro-Track sway bar kit for it. Also swapped out the black dyed MoonCraft wheels for some 2.2 Tamiys one's. I dyed these black as well. Still haven't decided what I'm going to do with decals yet. I might just not go with any. Do u guys think I should leave it as is, or paint the ouside of the body flat black?

HI!... Well got the 3 BigWig bodies cut out tonight and one mounted to the car. Just have to decide now what I'm going to do for paint and decals. I also have a vintage Pro-Track sway bar set-up coming for it. j

HI!... Got a vintage Pro-Track sway bar kit and NIP roof panel for the BigWig. Also got a "R" tree for my Tamiya Sonic Fighter project. A Reedy Outlaw motor, motor decals from Ultrahive, and Vintage New Andy’s S&K Associated RC10 Trailing Arm Kit.

HI!... There's a guy on RC10TALK.COM that has already got his. He posted up picks.

HI!... I found the paint I'm going to use. It's flat black too. I tried it on a scrap piece of Polycarbonate and it bonds to it just like Tamiya PS paint. This paint is actually designed to bond to plastic. I'll be painting the BigWig body this weekend.

HI!... Pics or it didn't happen... lol!

HI!... I have one going blue like the boxart. Another one is going green like the Tamiya BigWig promotional video, and this one is either going gloss black or flat black if I can find the PS paint. Tamiya doesn't make a PS flat black. I'm currently working on getting a set of custom decals made that look like the originals but in greyscale instead.

HI!... I have 2 other completed ***** BigWig bodies. They are exactly the same as the original. They are made from a original body. I've had no problems with the roll bars. The only noticeable difference I can say would be that the body is made out of better plastic and is slightly thicker to the feel.

HI!... I got the YOU-G rear aluminum shock tower glass beaded and painted. It turned out good but I might have it powder coated when I bring in some RC-10 chassis's to be done. Here's a few pics of it mounted. Also got some NIP steering boots. I also picked up some BigWig bodies from ***** :
