  1. Hi, all

The Sand Viper comes with ball bearings. A local model shop has a sport tuned motor for £17.99 (think its because it looks like its almost as old as me!!) despite the lower price the owner swears its brand new!!.I just got a new battery (hpi plazma 4300mAh) but its a tight fit. What pitch of pinion do I get and what website can i get it form?? Are the 3racing metal dampers any good??? Are the carbon shock towers any good for some light bashing and tumbles???

As you can see I'm a noob at all this! ;)

    Thanks

    Daniel

  2. Hi Guys

It was lucky that the screw came out, but it flew out so fast it dented my wall!! Me and my Dad were just lucky we didn't get hit by it

Anyone else had a problem with the servo saver and horn on the DT02 as the BB1 screw for the acoms servo isnt long enough for any thread to bite. So I had to use a BB2 screw and a spacer made from the plastic tubing found on the motor. But now my proble is, now I haven't got enough BB2 screws to attach the rear wing wth!!!!!

  3. Hi

    Thanks for the replys!

Butler, I think I shall just get one of those cheap ansmann motors from modelsport, but whats the lowest amount of turns the standard kit esc can handle.

Schaumat, luckily I havent ran the car yet, so I might just take the motor out of my hornet for now.

Edit Ran the motor under no load and the grub screw just flew out Edit

  4. Hi guys

I was building my new sand viper when I accidentaly dropped the grub screw into one of the vent. In my attempts to try and get it out i seemed to lose it inside the motor, then after my dad tried to find it, we thought we heard it fall out. When the motor shaft is turned by hand it is quiet unlike before when it made a small noise.

So my question is, have I ruined the motor? Do I need to get a replacement? or can I finish the build and run it?

    Please help.

  5. Just got the replacement parts that I needed to fix the original suspension, but I'm having trouble getting the e-clips onto the piston shafts.

P.S I have a choice to make a midnight pumpkin or a stadium blitzer but what is a good cheap reliable radio?

  6. Ill see if my friend will let me have it.

Also I found the "yeah racing" website but what length do I need, and to mount thm at the bottom can I just use a spare set of the ball end connectors used on the steering ?

  7. Thanks for all the replies guys!

TA-MARK are you talking about the ones lke what you use for the steering on the hornet?

Also apart form ebay is there any other sites that sell these "Yeah Racing" shocks?

P.S will a scorcher body fit the hornet because my friend says his dad used to have an original scorcher, but all he has left is a shell and wheel.

  8. I know what you mean, two days after I got my lovely clean hornet I went off some small skateboard kicker ramps (dont worry I had a landing ramp) anyway, I went of the jump then crack, the battery door came off, and it ruined my nice clean battery was ripped to shreds bystone in the ground. Now you can't even see that its an ansmann 2000Mah battery because I have had to tape it up with electrical tape.

Is this a design error on tamiyas part.

  9. Its not just Hornet parts - some Clod parts are similarly out of stock in UK

It is a bit frustrating ordering things, only to find out the website is misleading, with non live stock levels !

Did you try modelsport or fusion hobbies.

Get this modelsport didnt have something as simple a aerial tubes!

    Hope youfind your clod parts

  10. Just got an email form modelsport saying that the parts for my hornet were out of stock and are now on back order

Rewind a few days and i got an email form fusion hobbies them too saying that they are on back order aswell

Now heres the kicker, both websites said at the time that those parts were in stock

Anyone know why this is happening?
