  1. Oooh me rikey verry much.. fair bit of $$ to spend on wheels though..ugh decisions decisions.
  2. Crazy looking frog ya have there! that front end looks massive you should put a brushless in it.
  3. I'd agree with 13.5T as well, we tried putting a 9T ezrun in an optima first before fitting it to my frog and it was ballistic..popping wheelies and flipping ect..13.5T with a Lipo is fast you will like it.
  4. Back in the 80's when we bought my Frog i swear my parents told me it cost $500AUD..does this sound right to any of you aussie's? i"m not sure what the re:re kits are going for now over here as i haven't actually seen any, but to be honest i haven't really been looking because i never buy much from hobby shops over here as they put too high a mark up on things.
  5. Ahh! okay that makes much more sense now, when i get some time over the next few days i"ll start on the gearbox! not looking forward to removing V5 off the piston rod again though..lol maybe i"ll just remove the 2 e-clips and damper stack instead.. Thanks for taking the time to write all this up much appreciated! Cheers, -AD
  6. Hi mark, Firstly the Ezrun doesn't come in a 9.5T size sensorless motor, only 8.5 or 10.5 full size 540 can. There is a 13.5T motor available but at the time when we bought both our motors they both came as package kits that contained a V2.0 35A ESC + Motor & program card for a very cheap price which is basically why we bought them, that and the 13.5T kits only come with a 60A ESC which was a lot dearer for not much better performance but admittedly the 60A ESC would have been nice i guess. Also in small light cars like the frog and optima that are we putting these in the 380 size motors really perform well! the optima managed almost 40mph with the 9T motor and 7.4V Lipo when it wasn't trying to wheelstand and flip or spin the wheels. The 9T was really as fast as i wanted to try in the frog and honestly its too fast for it really so we have changed plans and will be leaving the 9T in the optima for now and fitting the frog with the 13T motor if i can ever manage to get the gearbox finished and working how i want it to. One other point Ive noticed is that with the 380 sized Ezrun motors people seem to report less cogging problems..i"m not sure why this is but both these units seem to work very well thankfully. I do agree that if you were wanting to run an Ezrun brushless in anything bigger such as a slash or revo ect, then the .5T motors would be a better option for sure.
  7. Ouch! it would be a good idea to get a temp gun so you can accurately check the motor temp, you can buy them off ebay for like $10-20, i wonder if you didn't have the car geared well enough to suit the motor.
  8. Hey Pickachoo, Yes, these dampers are for my Vintage Frog that Ive been rebuilding i assembled and filled them last night they measure about 76/77mm from eye to eye. I"m not sure if i understand how you shorten'd yours by removing 1 oil ring? can you explain it to me again!. I bought the re:re dampers because i was told they work better then the old original dampers it had on it. I am also replacing the old hex drives with a universal shaft Hop-up kit which has everything to convert the diff to the new re-re dogbone setup. I also bought a complete new set of pinions/spur gears/bevels ect to rebuild the gearbox with but i wanted to setup the drive shaft kit and run it on the old gears/ect to test first before i reassemble it with all the new stuff. The reason being is because i want to try shimming the diff first with my tamiya shimm kit before i decide to drill and tap the new re:re cups to accept Oldfrogshot's screw mod. I am going to be running a Ezrun 9T or 13T brushless motor in this car so i want the diff to work nicely without all the annoying crunching..
  9. Another Scorcher! they look so d@mn cool i"m really starting to want one!..might get one for my next project if i can ever finish tooling around with my old Frog lol. Keep your eyes peeled on ebay lots of good stuff pops up on there all the time.
  10. The 35A ESC will still run a Lipo up to 7.4V and if you change the fan it can use the higher Volt Lipo's I"m still testing it with the 9T and 13T Ezruns i have here one of which will go into my old Frog lol..so far its looking like the 13T motor will be it as the 9T seems a bit fast for such a light little car even if it is 1:10 Scale. 94eg!: Sorry mate! didn't mean to poop in your RZ thread! just thought it might be helpful to shed some light on other motors which are a lot easier to get excellent performance out of with almost no maintenance! i guess i can't understand why people would even bother with brushed motors anymore..bit of a false economy when you have to rebuild them so often imo.
  11. Guys, i"m trying to screw part V5 down onto the threaded end on the piston rod..my question is how far down the thread is part V5 supposed to go? mine both seem to stop with 2 or 3 threads visible, is this correct? or is it meant to screw fully down over the thread?..i just cant seem to make it screw down any further onto the thread and i"m scared of putting too much more pressure on the piston rod with my pliers in case i bend the rod or scratch it. Heeeelp!
  12. I have 2 shells for my frog and one has a broken wing, is it possible to get a wing separately? ive looked on ebay but sellers only seem to sell the shell and wing as a complete package? Cheers, -AD
