  1. Happy birthday!! My guess is 58088 M-B C11 Cheers for a fun post!
  2. Or you could fit the narrower profile HPI tyres which IMHO are much better.
  3. I agree that for everyday use and fun the M03 is probably a better bet as not only are there more tuning parts but there seems to be more available in terms of spares and replacements as well. The Monte shell is very cool, but a fury_dice says, lots of fragile bits to snap off when it rolls (and it will roll []). Will post pics of my cheap 'n' easy suspension mods soon, I promise.
  4. Hmmm, I can see that some careful 'modifications' will be needed, but on the whole it looks really worthwhile as it will give the car a lot more protection. Ran mine last night on a new set of tyres, was all over the place as they were bedding in and made 'contact' with the curb. Tore the ball connector off upright []
  5. Thanks David. Looking at the pictures of the aluminium wishbones it would seem that the don't have a necessary holes about half way along to allow the fixing of the other ends of the anti-roll (stabiliser). I've mailed Gary (Victor101)to ask, will let you know. Duke
  6. Cheers for the info fury_dice! The foam bumper sounds like a great idea and the inevitable 'knocks' on the front end had done some serious damage, especially at speed [] Are you pleased with yours, recommended? Does it use the same fixings? I'm got the stabiliser kit fitted to mine and it runes behind the bumper between the front of the chassis. Is Dinball a ebay shop or a 'normal' one? Cheers, Duke
  7. Hi all, Does anyone know of a UK importer of Eagle models MO3 bits: http://www.eaglemodel.com/en/cont07/menu07.html I saw a nice looking foam front bumper on ebay and did a quick search and came up with the above link. The site is a little short on details, eg, what does the competition kit include? I might be being a little slow but I couldn't see any more info.
  8. Cheers, I'll look into those two Duke
  9. Hi all, I'm looking for a servo to replace the (heavy) standard size Acoms one that I use for steering my M03 mini - I want a lighter unit to reduce the weight to offset the very top-heavy design of the chassis. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced lightweight replacement? Cheers, Duke
  10. Parcel Farce more like...
  11. Many thanks! Much cheaper than the Tamiya item, would be a great alternative!
  12. Do you have a part number for the HPI mini shell, has anyone tried fitting it to the Tamiya MO3? Cheers, Duke
  13. Yep, the body sits on the top of the towers and I can confirm that it's entirely possible to fit the standard size receiver and Futaba ESC into the chassis of the original Mini (M03) It's tight but doesn't present major problems. Will take some piccys soon and post them. We were about ready to give up on the Mini's but with some perseverance we've found them to be HUGE fun and capable of handling serious modding.
  14. Start snip-- All that mod does is stiffen the wheel rate. End Snip-- It does stiffen it yes, but it also increases the track (slightly) as the wishbones are parallel to the ground, as well as substantially lowering the centre of gravity - both of which go to make it vastly more stable. It also gives some much needed negative camber which improves turn-in no end. In addition, due to the new 'rest' position of the suspension it reduces the propensity to bump steer - a nice bonus.
  15. Sadly slowing down isn't enough, if you hit a small stone then over it goes.
