  1. i like the look of something like a cc01, just got to find the right one to start a project
  2. ah right, just had a look at Clod Busters; a bit bigger and beefier than i was thinking of. The offroading that i'd be doing is really just on a big bit of grass outside my house or maybe a park, nothing too wild. i may have to re-think a bit.
  3. Right, i've come to the experts. I've got a nice TA-05 that i've built up from a chassis bought from ebay, and i've changed all of the insides out, but now i want something to do. I'd like to have something i can run on grass and offroad. The 05 is great fun, but i want to go somewhere else rather than up the road. I thought about one of the chassis that came as a rally car (Impreza or Focus) but are they actually going to be any good over bumpy grass? Or something like a Grasshopper/buggy type car maybe? What ever i decide on i'll be looking to buy a chassis second hand from ebay or here, preferably mostly whole, but i'll be putting in electronics and all myself. thanks
  4. Great knowledge! It says take off on the inside edge of the tyre. That'd be why they're so grippy and quick. What do you mean they look belted?
  5. here you go, not a massive difference from before, but sport tuned motor, and a different body shell. Not sure that the body shell is the right size, probably not helped by me putting the holes in slightly the wrong place, but its in better condition than my other one.
  6. I forgot about this thread but i've got this ta05 up and running pretty well i think. I put in a Sport tuned motor and a viper mtronics sport tuned ESC. At the moment i've got it on a 24t pinnion, but i've got 18 and 19 to change to. I've been racing my brother (just up and down the road) who has almost the exact same set up, only difference is pinnion, and i think i'm quicker. I'm not really sure where to go next. I know that i can gradually change over parts to the CF or blue bits. Also are these just the standard tyres can anyone tell? Because my brother has a set of kinda foam tyres and a set off ebay that are rubber with a tread, but my slick ones are much more grippy on the road. I'll wack up another picture of it now maybe
  7. Right i've got battery power now, so i've had more of a look at it. My main concern is that when accelerating i get sparks round the solder on the end of the motor and it doesnt run smoothly. I know the obvious answer is to re-solder it, but i'm thinking that i'm going to change the motor anyway to something like This Other than that it does seem to run fine, although i've had to sort of wedge the reciever and speed controller so that they don't fall out whilst driving, surely this isn't right, but i can't see any other way round other than plenty of tape. thanks again
  8. Sorry, i know i've posted this before, but i've just noticed i had it in totally the wrong section, hope no one minds me re posting it Hi all, i've just bought a tamiya ta05 second hand, sold as rtr. Unfortunately it only came with one battery and no charger so i'm a little stuck atm. My questions are basically can people identify how standard my car is and what bits are on it. The motor loks pretty standard, just plain silver no markings. I've got a bycmo BEC linked to it, and a futuba mc112b speed controller. Can provide more pics if needs thanks!
  9. sorry, just to clarify, whch bit looks like a diy mod? The only thing i can see that doesn't look what i would guess is normal is that the posts at the front have been cut short i think.
  10. thanks for identifiying those. Looking at it again the back bit definately does look CF. So basically the motor, reciever and esc are all pretty old and out of date. It ran ok from what i could tell with the limited battery i had, but it did have quite slow reactions (probably due to batery lifei would assume?) Any recommendations for replacements for those bits, i take it they wouldn't be too hard to change?

  12. Complete novice here, i've just bought a ta05 chassis complete with everything, except batteries and charger. Looking through this post it looks like you've them for sale, but i've no idea what ones i need.
