  1. The M04-L chassis of your Volkswagen Beetle car has a very reliable steering assembly that, as far as I have encountered, does allow for only very slight movements (the steering servo being in the neutral position, and a wheel is moved to check how much twitching there is in the steering linkage). Unlike the steering assembly on the chassis of a Nissan Skyline GT-R, which is a TA-01 chassis (not a DF-01), that has more movement in its linkage and could almost be interpreted as being loose, yet not loose enough or does not twitch enough (the looseness is somehow increased by the number of links). However, forward movement almost eliminates these factors that they become insignificant to affect the reliability of steering.
  2. I had one that is even an earlier release model.
  3. That is actually my first impression on the matter. I'm just waiting for the reply of the local hobby shop for the specifics, and cost. Thank you.
  4. That is correct, and I have just found out about it. Although they appeared to be the same at first, the chassis of the two cars are not the same. I kind of suspected it from the spare parts number, and then I ran into a description that laid its history (ultimatetamiya.com).
  5. Hello, everyone, I'm thinking of turning one of the M1025 Humvees that I have into a Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo. I have most of the needed parts figured out, like the body mounts set, body, 1-piece wheels, tires, aluminum brake disc wheel hubs, pinion gear, antenna mount, and the antenna pipe (etamiya.com). However, I noticed on the reference pages that the wheelbase of the M1025 Humvee measures 280 mm while the wheelbase of the Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo measures 257 mm. What made the other one shorter, and the other one longer? Also, the reference for the M1025 Humvee describes its suspension arms to be slightly longer. So, I take it that it means that the suspension arms of the Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo are slightly shorter. I have sent an email to the local hobby shop with regard to the same inquiry. Has anyone around here tried this project? Thank you.
  6. Oh, so the 7.2V battery pack that some of the posts are referring to is the one with the lump. The last time that I used one of those was in 1987 for the Mitsubishi Pajero. Thank you for the information, fellows.
  7. Hello, everyone. Does the Sand Scorcher 2010 RC kit ONLY accept the Tamiya LF Battery LF1100-6.6V Racing Pack (M-Size)? It sounds like this is what it is saying at the Tamiya website. I already have a couple of 7.2V Racing Packs.
