  1. The clear out continues.

Under the guise of a summer project for my nephew, this was purchased. I neither have the will power, stamina or money to strip this down or start tinkering with it. It seems to be in good general order. I have never powered it on, however the gearbox seems fine.

The body is not great for a 'shelf queen', more for driving around. It has a couple of repairs to it, and someone has over sprayed blue onto the rear shocks.

What I believe you'd need to do to make it into a spiffing example:

New shoes, complete strip/clean new or re painted shell and new under tray.

I can send more detailed photos on request.

Looking for £310 incl. postage or near offer

Will keep here for a couple of days and probably ebay if nothing happens.

How long after selling it do you give yourself wanting one again and not being able to find one?

I really went a little mad last year. I call having the lockdown blues. I also have an Avante 2001 which I really shouldn't have purchased. Oh and a Kyosho Ultima and some other  random bits which I bought in lots. Ugh.

    1. Lots of pictures including underneath.

    2. Describe as best you can

    3. Three to seven day auction to sell fast. Buy it now doesn’t work so good at least for me.

    4. Worth 350 to 450 maybe

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. It owed me £460 including postage, but would probably take around £400 for it.

I'll probably put it up on auction starting at £300 and see what happens.

I totally agree with you on the buy it now, it's never worked for me either.

    Awesome.

  4. Dear All,

I went slightly mad last year. Seeing prices go up, watching too much 'RCKicks' and 'Tamiya Legends', I was spurred onto buying loads of bits in the fear that they'd become too expensive for me to ever afford again. Now that the reality of space, kids, money and wife have dawned, I am trying to sell some of the cars that I purchased in haste.

This Avante Black has never been used. It was purchased to sit on the shelf as I'd daren't drive it. I was going to put it on Ebay tomorrow, but would really appreciate any pointers on what they are worth now? I can't find a single assembled one for sale as a comparator. The car came with a brushless system, but have no clue on the spec. Any pointers really appreciated. Here's a photo:

  5. Dear Community,

    I would appreciate some advice.

Having seemingly ruined five or six Lipos in the past, I have used resorted to using a bunch of NIMH batteries which I purchased around eight years ago. Now that these have started to have started to come to the end of their usable life, I am thinking about giving Lipos another go.

At present, I have a 'Pro Peak (yellow)' Nimh charger and an 'Etronix Power Pal' Lipo charger. I find the Etronix horribly fiddly and inconsistent.

I am a casual user and require an idiot proof charger that could charge ALL of my batteries (that doesn't cost the earth). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  6. This is a bit of an odd one, possibly.

I have always wanted an Egress to drive (as opposed to sitting on a shelf) and managed to get an original one this summer. However, as it's a runner, someone has advised me that the 'rerelease' would have been better for this.

Would anyone want to swap their rerelease model for my original one? Assuming that they're worth the same? It has a Carson 2.4ghz controller, silver can and Tamiya ESC. I have treated it with much care on the rare occasion it was driven. If so, I will pop PM some photos.

    Thanks for reading.

Wow that brings back memories! One of these was my first foray into RC cars. My dad had never seen such a thing before and spent the first hour playing with it before being told off by my mum to let me have a go! :D

Me too. I had a 'Matshushiro' Knight 2000, my first RC. I still have it, although it's in bits. Your poor Dad, they were a big thing back then. I was so proud of it, until my 'friend' from Honk Kong with a Tamiya Hornet told me that my car was a mere toy. I was so disappointed.

  8. Being a good 80s child, I loved Knight Rider. I purchased this 'Hitari' RC Car a few months ago (used) from Ebay. It sat there for several weeks until I even inspected it, to find that the battery terminals had had batteries leak on them. They need a clean and all should work fine. I just don't have the time and space to tinker with it. It's a lovely model and hope it brings a smile to the face of someone that knows the difference between KITT from KARR :)

All my stuff has now been sent to new homes, again, such a good idea & glad I could finally contribute. Bravo everyone involved.

Bravo to you! And thanks again for the Ansmann controller. I have paired it with a new ESC and servo I had lying around, and will be going to an old pal with TA01 with 1991 components.

  10. Dear RC Nuts,

My nephew wants to have larger wheels on at the front of his car. I was going to install some larger wheels similar to the Subaru Brat, however the axel is too short. Would there be a model that I could steel longer axels from?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
I wish you all good health.
