  1. 13.5 would be around a 23t superstock TZ i think. I would go for a mild 13t 380size Ezrun, great reviews and very cheap...£30! Check out Jangs vid on URC forums. 17.5 would be around a sport tuned power, so not worth it really. Either go silvercan (johnson) or go brsuhless. Gearbox's are fine if maintaned well.
  2. Yes! Me and my mate are building up a cheap fighter buggy rx (mainly his though as i have one) and he is running a hpi15t firebolt and 2s lipo, we are clubbing together to get a 3s lipo.
  3. Yer, 8t is risky with 8t. Go back to the old silvercan and 3s lipo, that was the best! How many cans dod you burn up?lol
  4. I say "Get rid of her"lol Oh well, only toys, thats what you have to say to your self.
  5. The most i have done is get lots of spares and cobble them together using pictures of other peoples cars. But, yes i has been done and getting quite common. Carbon chassis....uuummmuuumm
  6. I now know what you mean with that 3980kv motor!!! Full throttled it with my mates for the first time, done a full back flip and then accelorated really fast and flipped over about 10 times...not good for rear shocks lol. I havent driven BL enough to look into that, but all i know is that they are fast!lol
  7. Well yesterday i recieved my first Brushless motor and esc for my fighter buggy rx. Its a 3980kv motor and the esc is a 45A 5v-13v from HK. Should have it running tomoro! Thanks Percymon...you the best in the whole wide world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Ok ok. Just thinking out loud. Pritty sure with alittle bit of work you could get it in. However i dont think percymon was thinking that way anyway. 8.5t and 2s-3s is the best option.
  9. How many lipo cells will the motor/esc take? 4s lipo would be intersting.
  10. Thanks, that will be cool as im more used to nitro cars. Should get it in a few days. How long would you expect a package take to get from wales to cambridge?
  11. rrrrr, well i know some spanish if that helps?lol Hopefully some of you chinease mambers can help me! What is drag brake? Percymon=thanks, read your pm earlier, just got to find my mums address. Cheers
  12. I will be careful and will be stopping regulary as my esc fan is only rated for 2s lipo and im running 7 cell NIMH. thanks
  13. Ok, will do! My brushed motors (hpi15t and clash 21t/18t) get so hot on 7 cell, you can feel the heat 3 feet away! Should be fun 3980kv in a fighter buggy rx! Im going to test the mods i done today on sunday with a mate. Theres much less play in the front wheels now they have been shimmed(by a glow plug washer)lol Cheers
  14. I put a 2 or 3mm washer behind the wheel. Im not sure it will make any difference though as its not much of a gap.
  15. Just stiffened the rear tyres to stop them balooning up. I covered the inside of the tyre with duct tape and the are much stronger. This should help keep it stable aswell. I think ill keep the wheels spaced by 2mm each. Any other suggestions
  16. Thats alright when your 20+, but when your just 14, that difficult. Also, wheres the fun in having a chassis already done, its much more satisfying building your own chassis and improving it. However this one if proving hard. I have spaced out the rear wheels by 2mm each, might go another 2mm in a few minits.....school hols rock...rc stuff all day long for a week! I have taken the adjusters off the rear shocks and stretched the springs to size, this has helped alot, much more softer. Just about to space the rears out even further now and get the rear shocks stright at a less of an inwards angle. Is there a way of getting toe in at the back?
  17. Yes, i needed reminding, sorry. Thats given me some ideas. Im going to lower that back end and take some oil out. I cant lower the fort as its single wishbone, this means it gives it extra camber, how much negative camber shall i go for? Ill try to lower the battery at the fron, but cant lower the back of it as it will hit on the gearbox. Lipo would be better, but cant efford more batteries and chargers. Ill space out the wheelsas much as i dare, but i cant see it doing much the amount im talking about. These street tyres grip pritty well when warmed up and have foam in them, ill parsavier with them. Ill get back to you soon. Thanks
  18. Hi all Just about to get a BL combo off a very kind member for my fighter buggy rx! Its a 3980kv 540 motor and a 45a esc. I have stock sand viper wheels fitted with proline street tyres. Im guessing i wont get any traction so what wheels tyres shall i get? Im thinking just for the rear to keep costs down. Also how can i keep it from traction rolling when ever i hit the throttle or turn? Will bigger wheels help at the back? Could i space them out by a few mm and if so will it help? Its just it doesnt like to corner hard. Oh and my tyres seem to balloon up like a pizza cutter quite litteraly and thats just with a hpi 15t at the mo! Help
  19. I think 3300kv would be more suited to an olden like the hopper. Im about to recieve a turnigy 3300kv 6450 i think its called. What battery do you want to run?
  20. I would go for 8.5t to 11.5t and then go 3s lipo. Go for higher turn as it will have more torque and handle higher voltage. 13.5t and 3s would have alot of low down power, but you prob want more high end aswell. What sorta speed do you want? 50mph?
  21. First off Welcome to TC! Could you explain in abit more detail what that part is, what are you trying to build up?
  22. Hi all So my first brushless. How does a TP540-13.5T 3150kv Brushless R/C Car Motor w/sensor and a Hobbyking SS Series 40-50A ESC sound like for a fighter buggy then? ESC Spec The Hobbyking SS series comes with a limited range of programming functions and are designed to be plug-n-play. A perfect ESC for those looking for something simple to use and economic. Spec. Weight: 39g Cells: 2-4S Max Current: 40A Burst: 50A BEC: Opto Only Timing: 1/7/15/30 programmable PWM: 8/16K Motor Spec TP540-13.5T 3150kv Brushless R/C Car Motor w/sensor Specifications: Dimension: 60mm x 36mm(41mm w/Batt-terminal) , 74mm(with shaft) Weight: 180g Diameter of shaft: 3.17mm Length of front shaft: 15mm Kv: 3150rpm/v No load current: 1.9A Watts: 190W Cells: 2-4S Lipoly Will i need anything else? I will run 7 cell, then 3s soon. What speed/torque will i get? Wheelies and wheel stands like TA-Mark? Thanks
  23. shame with that motor being 380 size. Hope you can find a adapter.
  24. Ill get brushless, then a 3s lipo. Getting a brushless combo very soon! However it has to be very cheap, like £30 max for the whole thing. So either second hand stuff or dodgy companies!lol Would 3300kv 450 BL motor produce enough power for a fighter buggy, maby a few wheelies? Thanks
