Mr crsipy that moving drivers head in yours is fantastic! Love it! :D

Yes they're gold coffee mate lids lol. I cut them to size and drilled a hole in them and the used a hot hair dryer to warm the plastic to mold tyem to the spokes of the wheel. When I tightened them up the fake bolts in the wheel pushed into the plastic making a nice effect too. I thought that before I did it, whatever colour is at the back would reflect throughout the rest of the chrome wheel, and it worked out pretty well. Cheaper than gold chroming too.

The photo with them fitted looks like you have had some one-off machined at great expense ;)

  2. I've noticed that before - the back in stock notification email is 24 / 48 hours late half the time. Not very automatic eh! Maybe some poor dude has to sit there and type them all out...I can't think of another reason!

Glad I got mine, hope I haven't deprived anyone on here.

Nah, e-commerce sites have many back end automatic notification systems that have nothing to do with human input, apart from stock level adjustments.

  3. I set up for a notification email last week for when they had them back in stock. I didn't receive an email today when they were re stocked. Just by luck I check their website around 6 times each day lol.

Ditto, I set up an email alert a while back to notify me then went on the site by chance and saw over ten in stock :o:o:o:huh:

  4. Thanks wood5tock. It's the Iwata Kustom TH. It has a 0.5 needle/nozzle and the Kustom series comes with a larger paint bowl and the moisture filter as well as the snazzy case. It also has a fan pattern cap as well as a round pattern. To use the fan you need at least a 1.2cfm compressor. It's superb. http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=955 CheersNito
Thanks for the info and the link, may well look at one if these in the future for block colouring :)
I definately need to upgrade the crisp box spray booth now.
    Prawn Cocktail... :)

  5. It looks fantastic but I have to ask where are you storing the collection of cars? That's my biggest problem, kit boxes that I cannot bear to throw out and over 20 RCs takes up quite a bit of space and I like to see them and not hide them away!

Edit - just spied some on the shelves to the right. I guess with 3 Clod sized trucks and a Globeliner in my collection its the type of trucks that are my problem!

Those shelves are more like a holding bay. One of the other developments I want to get going is a solution to properly display the models as you say. I have the solution just got to make it/them ;)

  6. soo from the looks of it, Woodstock is now the designated body shell painter for those of us who have no skill? :)

Sounds like a great plan :D ...

    Gets my vote too!

You haven't seem the rear wing of my Boomer I have just fudged...

Just getting used to the new media, the roll cage I have just done is spot on and air brush cleaner makes for a great non harmful way of neatly getting rid of any tiny bleeds you can sometimes get.

Don't worry lads I'm getting my airbrushing head back again. Once I have it down again I'll do a full report! :)

  7. That's a very enviable den you have there Mr Wood5tock - nice work.

Of course, now we know you have such a well equipped work area, we're going to expect some truly epic builds from you :D

    ws_eek.jpg

From one of our masters of builds and paintwork that's quite an expectation to live up to... :D

what sort of extractor are you using and where does it go?

The spray booth is all in one and it folds up into the unit with the handle, the elephant nose just goes through the wall into a clear void of the loft. I am using water based paints so fumes and smells won't be problem. Well at least not from the paint :lol::lol:

What an epic build thread, very inspiring :)

    Cheers MJ ;)
