  2. My RC activities for the last 18 months have been virtually zero; work and family life just getting in the way. With no sign of that changing any time soon I've decided to thin down some of my collection. So first up my refurbished Hotshot - this was subject of a build thread back in 2012 (although it was more like a re-re build given how few of the original parts were re-utilised), but sadly the build thread was lost during the forum redesign a few years back. My photobucket snaps from the project are still available here.. http://s1194.photobucket.com/user/percymon/library/58047%20Tamiya%20Hotshot%20Restoration?sort=3&page=1 It's been run for all of 50 yards to test the brushless system (back in 2012) and just sat on display since. Comes exactly as it was when rebuilt.. Hobbywing EZRun 9T non-sensored brushless motor/ESC combo Acoms RX (40MHz old tech, no 2.4GHz here ) - No RX or battery included Acoms servo Original wheels (repainted silver chrome) and original tyres (a bit hardened over the years), plus the chrome non Tamiya star spokes and spike tyres. Not one for the purists, but for someone looking for a runner it'd be great fun. Many, many new parts went into the rebuild - bumper, chassis tub halves, cage, body, decals, red plastics, internals plus more.
  3. Indeed - i bought a new front skid plate when the re-re came out, although the original straightened out pretty well
  4. Even more embarrassing is the fact it's no further on 2.5 years later - pff, family life got in the way
  5. And replied Gary Item sold Thanks all for looking
  6. Now sold - my custom build MF-01X Skoda Fabia Rally Car This was the second MF-01X I build, assembled from 95%+ new parts. The only used parts were one set of diff bevel gears and the plastic gears which came from a TL-01. So.. > all new chassis plastics, including the black M-05RA hubs/uprights (no red plastics) > new Tamiya 11 spoke M wheels and Rally block tyres > new non Tamiya universal driveshafts at front end, new Tamiya metal dogbones at rear > new Active Racing alloy motor mount plate > new and correct Tamiya propshaft for mid wheelbase configuration (not a cut down to fit) > new Tamiya CVA shocks > new Colt Racing M chassis Skoda Fabia shell - nicely painted with Tamiya white and racing green metallic > new Allturn steering servo > new Tamiya turnbuckles for rear camber links and steering links > new Quicrun 1060 ESC (auto set up, lipo compatible) and new Tamiya silver can motor > no radio gear included > never been run since build, just sat at side of the work bench > will need some minor set up before use > diffs were built using Tamiya diff putty - small amount in front diff, slightly more in rear diff for a bit of tail happy rallying !! > some left over sprues included - can't remember exactly what there is, but consider them a free bonus I've no time for RC currently, family life getting in the way - no point having this and my Porsche 959 iteration sat on the shelf. Item will be well packaged in a Tamiya TL-01 Ferrari box - plenty of room/packing £sold Buyer pays paypal fees Payment by paypal please - buyer pays fees
  7. NIB Tamiya 58205 Mad Bull kit This is a Japan spec kit , so no ESC is included Box is still in the shipping carton it came in... I've had this sat in the hobby room waiting to be built for too long, and I'm not going to get anywhere near it anytime soon I had planned to build this kit with the following upgrades.. > Sport Tuned motor > Hi-Torque servo saver > CVA shocks front and rear I will add the above items for an additional £17 which is less than the cost of the motor alone. Buy all and I'll throw in the Hobbyking servo free of charge Payment by Paypal, buyer pays fees Sold
  8. Not had any time for RC lately, and its unlikely to get any better - will be putting this , never run, on the For Sale section this evening for anyone interested.
  9. another take on the MF-01X, ESC arrived today which was the final piece after a 4 week pause..
  10. A month after despatching, no products arrived - raised claim on eBay and was refunded in full within 12 hours, without any correspondence. I also ordered one several months ago that also didn't turn up (can't remeber the seller now) , again refunded no issues. Given these are pretty well packaged in a small tough cardboard box, its hard to see they could get damaged/ripped/lost in transit. At least the seller(s) are honest, in hindsight I should have just bought from RCMart, or cheapest uk based seller as the goods would be with me by now. Have two 90% finished projects waiting for these ESCs so a little annoyed
  11. Very little time for RC of late, so apologies for the delay in some 'finished' pics. Its been like this for over a month Still waiting to give it a run and some more realistic photos, but for now it sits on the window sill ! Original tyres are still in the bag of glycerin, about 6 weeks now, probably not going to benefit from any further soaking.
  12. Hope it was of some use - i never got any finished photos of mine, i got a bit dispondent with the whole RC scene and sold it when 95% complete. Adding the perspex windows, and interior made my already top heavy ABS shell even more top heavy. In hindsight the lexan shell would have been a better option, less involved and better for running purposes.
  13. I used +9mm offset on my TL-01 based Bowler and no such issues so I'm sure you'll be fine... You may have to cut away a bit more of the wheelarch rim than the moulding suggests, so your tyres don't catch on full lock (or raise the body up a notch or two, but that then spoils the look IMO). I used the ABS version of the shell.
  14. Started building the TL-01 components into new MF-01 chassis parts - hit a snag early on - rear 'box idelr gear runs on 24mm shaft int he TL-01, 21mm in the MF-01 (so part ordered , and already despatched ). Got as much of the front end done as I can- need to centre the servo before adding the servo aver, steering links - so chassis tub is 80% done, then to add arms, hubs, shocks etc. Wheels are built - 11 spoke white M chassis wheels with medium foams and rally block tyres - should suite the Skoda shell which is already painted and decalled ready
  15. Today.. DT-03 Fighter Buggy DT-03 bearing set and a little box from Banzai (for my next 'MF' build 1 xTamiya RC M-Chassis 60D Inner Sponge (Tamiya 50686) 1 x11 Spoke Racing Wheels - M-Chassis (4pcs) (Tamiya 51394) 1 x51425 M05Ra F Parts - Upright (Tamiya 51425) 2 xM Chassis Rally Block Tires - 2pcs (Tamiya 51427) 1 x51576 MF-01 X A Parts (Chassis) (Tamiya 51576) 1 x54590 M-Chassis Inner Sponge - Super Hard/4pcs (Tamiya 54590) 1 x54654 S Wheelbase Propeller Shaft - MF-01X (Tamiya 54654)
  16. May need some investigation but some of the 1/12th scale HPI truck bodies may fit .. they are quite cheap unpainted, or painted (IF suitable)... http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-catshow/Bodyshells_112_Truck.html I'd also investigate whether some of the smaller 1/10 scale Pro-Line shells may also fit - they do quite a range of shells from 50-70's American trucks
  17. Can appreciate that will all the additonal window/trim items the original shells can be pricey to fully replace but a Pumpkin ABS body is ca £10+delivery, so if you are prepared to reuse/refurb/paint the trim items then a new shell need not cost the earth
  18. If you strip and clean it then in time with ebay sales you'd see more than your money back - depends whether you see any point in spending 2-3 hours stripping it all down and another 3-5 hours cleaning and polishing !
  19. more progress this evening.. front end assembled.. front shocks rebuilt, new seals, green slime and Schumacher 20wt oil.. and installed.. rear shocks got the same treatment.. and fitted.. So i now have to break into the new E parts sprue for the radio deck, front body post, and rear wing clamping plate. Hope to have it as a rolling chassis tomorrow evening
  20. one possibility that might help achieve the stretched 'Euro' look of the tyre on the rim is to use HPI 26mm tyres on a 31mm rim - not sure how well it would work but might be worth a google ? The rims are available 0,+3,+6 dependent upon style. You could add 1mm of shims/washers between the mounted hex and the inner wheel face to gain a little more track width (you should still have sufficient axle thread for the wheel nut and plenty of contact between wheel and the hex faces (or try to find some slightly thicker wheel hexes. you may be able to stretch Tamiya M chassis radial or 60 radial tyres to the wider HPI 31mm width too - never tried it to know how compatible they are. there i also this thread.. http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=80962 which doesn't give a stretched sloping tyre sidewall, but does show the rim protruding outside the tyre line
  21. All plastic parts were given a good soak in diluted Cillit Bang and a brush with toothbrush, metal parts largely degreased with carburetter cleaner. Onto the rebuild, original casing and diff gears re-used for the front diff - grease with Tamiya white cera-grease,, Rear diff - a new gear casing, old netal parts; diff built with some Tamiya diff putty for a stiff action - nothing like a tail happy 4WD buggy Gearcase output shafts built up with new gears, bearings etc.. spur gear assembled.. rear gear case assembled, shock tower on.. rear lower arms and hubs.. and installed (no fancy upper turnbuckles on this budget build).. and to the front end. Steering knuckles fitted with bearings, axles and rubber O ring in the axle cup.. That's it for now.
  22. Finally, an update ! Probably got a bit optimistic starting the thread when I did and a family illness meant I've spent several weekends away visiting etc etc (excuses, excuses). Anyway, I pulled these from the spares box.. alloy propshaft and cups (think this is a Yeah Racing item) metal shielded bearings Sport Tuned motor Alloy motor mount (GPM from recollection) steel 19t pinion plastic gear set (albeit Ideally I need two gear diff casings; not the single gear, single ball diff parts in this bag) Tamiya wheels, now wrapped in the Seben Racing tyres and foams I got for £1.75
  23. Celebrating 40 years since the release of the first Tamiya 911 with a Ford Fiesta was hardly going to work ;p the last 61 normal 58xxx series releases have all been non Porsche
  24. other option is jasons store - he often has a few vintage parts too http://jasons-store.highwire.com/products?search=hilux As I've not built my re-release Bruiser or Mountaineer I can't say whether the front hubs are compatible with the vintage models, but might be worth searching around to see
