A little fun with one of my favorite runners today.
-
I think Effigy summed it up well. Like him, I don't scuff mine either. I don't race anymore but I still like the clear wing look. Old habits I guess.
-
Clear wing. Racers always have clear wings. (but do what you think you'll like)

Regarding Lipos, it's as simple as that. They are better in every way compared to older types. Just be sure to not over discharge them so an ESC with Lipo cutoff or a cheap Lipo alarm are in order. Speedpassion and Hobbywing make good brushless ESC/Motor combos. For most vehicles, I like running either a 13.5 in 2wd and 10.5 in 4wd but speed and power are always personal preferences. Oh, and I always prefer sensored versus sensorless.

Looks good! You know the wheels are on backwards right?
-
Most comp crawlers now a days run brushless 3s setups. Just a little FYI, but historically people used to use lathe motors (brushed 20t and higher).

A little fun before work today. Please help me out by going to YouTube and giving this a like and be sure to subscribe for more RC content!

Welcome to the club! Great looking car. Looking forward to more from you.

Don't buy cheap Chinese junk. Don't forget you have an RC because you have so many and buy a second one on accident. Don't paint when the temps are below 50F. Don't get upgrade fever, especially when you have enough cars that you basically have a car for every purpose. When flying FPV, don't ever fly that last battery pack (bad things happen on the last pack of the day, it always gets you lol). Don't look at the The "postman Brought Me" Thread, ever (unless you are ok being broke or choosing RC over food ). Finally, don't EVER sell any of your RCs (might require eventually buying a larger house to store them in).

The Pilotfly H2 that's in the title of the video is a 3 axis gimbal. I have a gimbal that I use from Lanparte for my GoPro Session like it. I only have one video of it in use with a car as I never have anyone to drive for me while I film lol.

This is not my video. It was shot by a YouTube friend of mine, Waffett. It is so nice I had to share it here.

This is now my 32nd year in the hobby. Have been going non stop since '85. Thank you Tamiya for giving me a life long passion. Additionally, I've made a second hobby out of video and editing and my YouTube channel for RC. I have no idea what I'd be doing with my time if I didn't have RC.

If you find a place to order them in the US, please leave a link.

Visiting the Tamiya Factory in Cebu, Philippines
Theibault replied to mailboxck's topic in General discussions
Great write up. I was surprised to see all the XB bodies were done by hand and not an automated process. On a side note, Tamiya does the paint then cut method as I've done for years lol. Take that you cutters then painters! -
Pretty much any battery fits if you use some of the brass bushings that come in the kit (provided you have replaced them with bearings) as spacers on the battery mounts.

A little fun today with my Super Hotshot. Love this buggy.
-
What a great video. I'm surprised they used that photo in the beginning @:04 . So many old Tamiyas!

I think if you are still planning on running on grass, something like the Amarok WT-01 would be good. Buggies are made for dirt.

The quad is an ImpulseRC Alien 5" Rotor Riot edition. Just like our kits, it came as a chassis. I used Flyduino KISS flight controller, KISS 24 amp Race Edition ESC's, Lumenier 2350kv motors, HS1177 FPV camera, ImmersionRC video transmitter, and FrSky Taranis radio and receiver. Oh, and the goggles are FatSharks. All are sold separately and you build it but there are many RTF quads that come ready to go out there in the marketplace.

Check to make sure your bearings are fully seated in the hub and that you didn't mix up L and R on the F parts.

Pretty much any sensored 13.5t motor should work if your DR came with a TBLE-02s speedo. Yes, you will most likely have to solder. Look at it as a necessary skill if you wish to truly enjoy this hobby. It's easy once you take a few minutes on scrap wire to learn. You can always get a TBLM-02s 13.5 Tamiya motor which is plug and play, but in my opinion, they are way overpriced for what they are.

It's sitting drying. I'll check it out tomorrow after work. Thanks for the kind words on my flying. I do love it and I feel I get better every time I fly. If you mean the camera on my fpv quad filming, it's a GoPro Hero5 Session. I think they go for $300 US. I get a break on them through work. It is waterproof so it was fine lol.
-
Couldn't decide what car to drive today, so I went flying instead. Big mistake lol.
-
This is a pretty cool idea. Despite seeing posts and comments from you over the years, I don't think we've ever chatted about RC. I wouldn't mind being a part of this if it happens.

Air compressor either before or after a run (based on how lazy I was returning from a run) and routine maintenance. Only time I do a full tear down is if it's covered in mud or after every race, but I no longer race so that is very rare as I hate running in wet or muddy conditions because I'm lazy and don't want to do a full tear down afterwards lol.
