  1. Get yourself a screw extractor set. They come in very handy.
  2. I need to run my Nitro cars more often. I have a sweet TG10 Mk2 that I haven't even built. Maybe I'll do a build video for it. This little Duratrax is a forgotten gem though.
  3. Having fun with my new Arrma Notorious
  4. Well, this is something, I guess. https://www.bigsquidrc.com/tamiya-ferrari-312t3-with-f104w-chassis/
  5. The black one is a double wind 18T if I remember correctly. Does it say "1987 World Champions" on the bottom of the sticker?
  6. Had a little fun with my Axial SCX-10 today. Not all roads reach their destinations.
  7. It's a body for a toy car that will end up tattered if you play with it right. Paint it up and run it. You'll forget about that crease as soon as you put the first real scratches in it from running. 😆
  8. If $4 is a lot, I'm afraid to tell you that you chose the wrong hobby lol. http://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-42298-1350-ball-bearing-fluorine-sealed-2pcs-p-66036.html?cPath=595_744_1561
  9. Testing out the super slow motion on my Samsung Galaxy S9 with my Novafox.
  10. Been a minute since I shot a video. My trusty SCX-10 II at the Garden of the Gods. https://youtu.be/YuXiEc9AJcs
  11. It's the experience. "First in Quality Around the World" This translates into good quality plastics, excellent molds/parts, wonderful scale/quirky bodies, ease of assembly, eye catching box art, and generally well thought out designs. All this create a fantastic experience that no other company can provide. From browsing/buying, to building and finally running, the experience is usually very satisfying. It hooks you and keeps you coming back for more. We are humans and as humans, we make a great deal of our decisions based off emotion (nostalgia plays a huge role too for all of us today). Tamiya just makes you feel good, so we keep running back for more. TL;DR : We are just a bunch of plastic crack addicts.
  12. No one way is correct, and as Wooders stated, it's personal preference. That being said, if your preference is using sticks, then you are just doing it wrong. Wheels are just natural to driving cars. On the 1:1 side, I'm not aware of any car that is controlled by 2 sticks. I learned 32 years ago on sticks and that was fine until the first time I drove a car with my then brand new Magnum Junior. Never looked back. Funny side note, I spend more time on sticks because I currently log 3 times the hours weekly flying FPV mini quads versus driving cars.
  13. Usually, we get some info during the Nuremberg International Toy Fair. This will be the end of January.
  14. Great idea! I actually just subbed to 3 of you guys. Never knew you had channels. Here's mine. I always sub for sub and watch videos often. I currently spend most of my time flying FPV, but I'm a car guy at heart and have a TON of Tamiya and car videos on my channel. About to add my first fixed wing video in the next day or two. https://www.youtube.com/user/theibault
  15. Having built all those kits in one guise or another, I will say that the answer to your initial question as to which on is the most engaging/time consuming is the XV01. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those builds, but the XV01 answers your specific question.😆
  16. Side cutter and then sanding sticks. Cut the nub high as to not leave any stress marks on the plastic. Then use more coarse to fine sanding sticks. I typically will start with a 180 or 240, then go to 400 and lastly 800 grit (for best results, always sand in just ONE direction, no sawing motion). Finally a quick rub with a polishing stick. Honestly no more than a minute and a half of work per nub. If the nubs are not visible on the finished model, I just use an exacto on the nub to get it flush. I use the other method for visible parts. Tried and true technique from all the Gunpla I build. Oh, and Swarm, flashing is a thin layer of plastic that runs out between where two halve of an injection mold meet, not nubs.
  17. My condolences on your loss. Glad to hear this site has been something good for you. Welcome and please post pics and share how your progress is going down this particular road again.
  18. Fun snow romp this morning with the Axial SCX-10 II.
  19. Well, since you have 3 MO3 chassis now, how about buying a body that fits those chassis rather then buying another chassis class to fit one body?
  20. Not a Tamiya but I know you guys enjoy Axial videos too.
  21. The second I saw this, I knew I needed one. This is just the weird type RC I'm a sucker for. Will definitely get one.
  22. Plates look awesome. I rock the traditional green and white Colorado plates on my car and motorcycle.
  23. Not sure what shipping internationally will be, but here you go. https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-1-8-eclip-10-asc6299/p1689?gclid=CjwKCAjwl_PNBRBcEiwA4pplRdb108lIbtkm2iCjNwNvRCcpId4m4MPUKE6DvG1eWh4f9NrvQQJQqBoCqLUQAvD_BwE
