Pretty excited about this kit. Might even do a quick build video.

Most upgradable vintage buggy/hardcore upgrades

Depends on the kit. Many of the higher performance kits have better plastics or fiber reinforced plastics. I personally find the classic re re's to be strong and stand up to use pretty well. -

I'd say the DB01 series are very good with plenty of upgrades available. -
Yes, there will be. Mark my words lol. I'm guessing a Hornet will be next, but would love to see a Fox, WildOne, FAV ,HotShot etc. I think these cars are going to sell very well for Tamiya, so in typical Tamiya fashion, you'll be sick of all the Comical variations in 3 years time.

What was the first RC that you ever purchased?
Theibault replied to TheMidnight Pumpkin's topic in General discussions
The Hornet, in 1985. I have a video all about it in the YouTubed! thread lol. -
Hello and welcome to the forum. If you plan on driving fast, you'll probably want a polycarbonate (Lexan) body. They are lighter and won't shatter into pieces the first high speed crash you have. If you have a 4tec 2.0, then I'd recommend the Traxxas Ford GT body. It's absolutely stunning and made specifically for that chassis. Otherwise, just visit some of the online sites and browse the bodies they sell and pick one to your liking. One other thing, I see you have created 6 posts that most likely could have all been contained in just one thread about bodies. Just makes things neater and easier for you and others to keep track of information.

So I'm working on getting better at filming cars with my FPV quad. This is my second try.

Tamiya Fair is this weekend.

So my BF is a heavy runner. As such, I didn't want to spend all that time with paint and prep like I did with my MB. I just sprayed a couple light coats of clear over the black plastic, did the trim in silver and sticker'd it. From more than 2 feet, you can't tell the difference. Here's a pic, it's super dirty so not as shiny as when I get it cleaned lol.

Ok, so once more I pray for a 959/GrB re re on the eve of the show. That's all I want lol. Come on Tamiya, deliver to me.

The best advice I can give is to use some hockey tape to make it look as clean as possible. Here's my TT-02 Evo X body running 3 LEDs per front bucket and 4 per rear for a total of 12. I think I did a pretty clean install and the tape hides the wires from the outside looking in.

Tamiya 58665 - Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050

My favorite part of the box art is that Tamiya boldly state that it comes with full ball bearings. -
That looks fantastic! If you are using name brand Velcro, next time try 3M Dual Lock. SO MUCH MORE grip lol.

And the completed build!

I've always wanted to build a full bling kit. Functionally suspect, as a good crash will break the chassis, but boy does it look good lol.

First real snow fun! Not a Tamiya but still super fun.

PS, BC just beat me by 2 seconds lol.

Tamiya make nothing as good as an SCX-10II. I recommend you pick up their new Builders Kit. Leaves a bunch of stuff out so you can build it to your liking while saving a little and getting thins like the better links out of the box.

Just a little slow motion from yesterdays bash.

My Hornet and the story of how I got into this hobby.

Part of it has to do with what camera you are using. I like GoPros as they are great all around and shoot excellent video. Getting into editing can be a bit of a learning experience but you could always try something free out like Davinci Resolve which is very feature packed for something that's free.

Brought this old RC back to life.

Nice little rally with the Subaru Impreza WRC 2008.

This is a test of the TimeWarp feature on the GoPro Hero 7 Black. I might try this with a different type of RC vehicle again. It's a pretty cool feature.

Finally! After 2 years have past since I built the chassis, I finally got around to painting the body for my Rally Jimny. Excited to run this and shoot a video when the snow melts. It's just too pretty right now to get dirty lol.
