anything Tamiya related I have been doing this week was driving... as usual, 2-3 drives cant go without some damage, my TA05IFS has eaten a driveshaft plastic cup thing as the front diff went loose and the driveshaft (dogbone) fall out... tighten it, now the front tires grip as they should...I used the O-rings and urethane sponges for the front left drive shaft until new plastic clips arrive.
My F103, has worn of its front left tire before all others...now I have a spare Pit shimizu soft slick mounted on a white rim, I am thinking to fit until the other side wears off as new Tamiya Soft F104 slicks arrived for the F103 last week.
Yesterday I broke the front right upright on my M03, this is the 3rd time, the first two times I glued it back together, but now it is further and further towards the front of the vehicle, and gues what, after extending the ride hight to its maximum, I orderd M05RA upright set for the M03, I will update my build thread about the Fabia M03 as soon as I fit the parts and take some pictures.
on the other hand, I have been also doing a lot of non tamiya related stuff. For example, I made myself learn, how theoretically a drone works and how to fly it, also what to buy and not... most of youtubers say to start of with mini indoor drones... I had my eyes on the xk x130t RTR mini quadcopter or shoulde I say FPV race drone, 4 tiny 6mm brushed motors make that thing fly really nice. But it is discontinued... it does look that a lot of request were made, on gearbest over 40 backorder request... I went for the Eachine e013 without FPV headset. while a ZMR250 ''racing drone'' project was started and ordert... RTR without FPV gear... I am looking now at about 140$, the reason why I didnt go with camera was that I am a total noob at this.
But I hope this will be great and give me some nice guidlines for 2019!
''Airbashing''
this video is great. ''walk the dog'', he says it takes about a year to get comfortable... now that is good invested money I hope.
as if what I did today... I installed one of the fluorine coated ball connectors on my slidology servo horn, a trackstar nylon d303 servo with matching yeah racing servo mounts is waiting for the next parcel from HK, a trackstar 4.5T mod motor, HK x-car 120A esc, usb connection for firmware and programming. Hobbywing usb link software installed on the laptop also during last week. I am ready to install the electronics in my Xray T1FK05 touring car, it will be most of the time on the shelf... and when its not, I hope not to break it.
Flying FPV is absolutely amazing. There is no other experience like it in the world. Literally tricks your brain into thinking that you, as a person are flying. I've been into cars for 30+ years but ever since I started flying FPV quads a couple years ago, I fly WAY more than all the driving I do (and I still drive and play with my cars a lot). Have fun learning to fly. Don't get discouraged, it does have a somewhat steep learning curve, but there are steps you hit in the progression of learning that will keep you coming back for more. Here's a flight from 2 days ago.
And to everyone else, sorry, I just get very excited when someone wants to start flying FPV.

If 84270 has the ball-diffs, Steering bridge and the one-way, plus the optional black wheels, then I'd say that's the one to keep NIB.
You know, I didn't realize this. I thought they just re did the release the same. My first edition also came with a speed controller (I'm trusting the sticker on the box as I haven't removed the cellophane).

So I've been wondering about this. The re re ABS is a slightly different box and different part number from the first release. From a collector standpoint, do you think this would make a difference in value between the two? I'm going to build one of these and keep the other NIB. Not sure which one to build lol. What do you guys think?

Testing an app to allow me to track my laps with my RCs.

The best grip is provided by your throttle finger.
Try turning your punch down on the ESC. Also, helps if you don't overpower a car (nothing wrong with silly overpowered RCs, you just can't then complain about lack of grip).

This is my original HPI RS4 from 1995. Needs a bit of love if I can ever find the time to do a rebuild.

Are they that bad? Never made any so im not sure
Just lots of tiny screws. So many tiny screws lol. All three sets had 12 per wheel and another 6 per hub. 216 tiny little screws. It's also always a pain to get the first couple screws per wheel to screw in as you are compressing the tire bead against the ring and wheel.

Part 3, the front gearbox and shocks.

My least favorite hobby activity. I put together 3 full sets of beadlocks. 😒

Hilarious timing on this thread
I was literally about to post the same question this morning... having a row with the missus last few days as I’m running out of spaces and excuses for where all these cars (and their boxes) have been coming from....!
I feel like I could possibly let go the ‘modern’ Tamiya boxes (standard generic blue and black smallish box with a sticker applied) whereas the ‘classic’ boxes (white, big box with awesome artwork) I’d rather gnaw my own arm off than let go...
i need to find space.... if only to hide the obsession / addiction....
...but I don’t want to release a box or boxes....
Does TamiyaClub have a counsellor? I think it needs a counsellor....
The only advice the TC Councilor will give you is to buy a bigger house. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I keep all my Tamiya boxes. All the others go in the bin.

The easiest thing to do is to get a free Imgur account and then post the [IMG links here.

Might I also add that I dig the old Colorado Rockies logo in the intro page
At least, I thought that is what it is...
On topic, the whole thing looks to be building up quite nicely
It's actually the State of Colorado flag.
(minus the R which was something I added lol)

Love it! Will get the ComHor to go with my ComGra. And I'm totally fine with a ComHot that's 2wd. All of you who would freak out over that, just remember you are grown adults playing with toys.

First, I take the servo out and make sure the steering rack is working as it should. If that's not the issue, I then test the servo. My guess is that the servo may have some stripped gears.

The TL-01 bumper that appears on one of the parts trees is a perfect fit and hides nicely under the body
More importantly, it retains that U-shaped bar at the front to keep the front suspension arms in place. Like Fuijo, I was tempted to run mine like this, but all that time spent on bodywork made the bumper more or less mandatory!
Keep up the great build! We always need more Lancias
The small bumper is the plan! I'm not worried about scuffing the body. Got a spare 84355 body set I bought a few years ago.

Any guess on re-re 2019?
in Re-Release Discussions

Spot on. Tamiya cares nothing for anyone outside the domestic market. Tamiya will cater to the Japanese sensibility. That being said, I expect to see an Avante 2001 as the next re re. The body released a few years ago was the test. Egress, Avante, and Avante BS have all now had a few runs. Tamiya also loves to part bin special kits. They have just about everything ready to roll for the Avante 2001. This is not the kit I want. All this leads me to ask for a 959/Celica GrB like I do every year. I will be disappointed again this year, and I won't buy the Avante 2001.
