The body mounts are different on the monster racer as well.
-
Thanks Berman. Those do not look bad but the spikes are thicker. I just saw the pro-line speed paw and look like a good match but are discontinued as well. Dirt Paw has to be next in line as the closest.

Does anyone have a good 2.2 aftermarket tire replacement with similar specs to the stock spike balloon tires for the King Cab? Thanks
-
Depends on how powerful of a brushless you are going with but even if you plan to be close to close to stock power or a little more i would get a steel 32p pinion gear. That was what I did and all my trucks have steel pinions including my beetle which just has a sports tuned black can. I think you can get away with the stock tamiya gold pinion if it is a mild brushless but you should look into steel 32p 10 tooth pinion.

Thanks Berman. Just trying to learn how to control her now.

I really liked the look of the Extreme body so decided to use the shell and stickers for this one. Truck has CVA shocks, 4400kv brushless motor with steel pinion, ezrun 60amp esc, and 2s lipo. Had to add a somewhat custom wheelie bar. LOL Overall love the way this truck runs and can give some traxxas trucks out there.

Finally got a pic posted of my brushless blitzer. Sporting a brushless 4400kv motor, steel pinion, ezrun 60 amp esc, and 2s lipo. Rear tires on it are a pair of a few different pro-line tires I am testing but not my trucks best looking tire. Over all a badword of a fun truck to drive.

My 23 year old vintage beetle bought for me when I was 11 yrs old. Kept the gearbox stock since it is a self queen but added a full CRP shock tower brace, re-re brat axles, new gold wheels and tires. Wouldn't sell her for the world.

Also, the Super Blackfoot is as close as you can get to a beetle but with improvements. I just got a superfoot and will put a beetle shell on it. You do have to add the rear body mounts from the beetle to fit the shell. The good thing is the you get a rugged gearbox on your beetle. The bad part is that you will have to deal with the fact that the rear shocks line up verticle on the super/kingfoots. In my opinion you should look for a superfoot roller on ebay for cheap. Plus the super blackfoot has the single body mount in the front just like the beetle and original blackfoot.

Wow that is some serious good info Dan. Good job! Thanks.

Actually alot if the newer models are coming with those mabuchi rs540 mtors with 2 vents. Guess the more vintage motors are better?
-
Oh ok thanks Dan. I thought it was the opposite. Only because the black sport tuned motors have the 2 vents.
-
Hey guys I didn't find any info on this on here but does anyone know if their is a difference between the silver cans with four vented holes on the outside casing and the ones with just two huge vents?

I have my re-re stadium blitzer with a 4400kv brushless motor and the sucker is fast. I never thought of using my gps to clock the speed. Hopefully this weekend

Breaking Super Clod Buster News.

I bought thr re-re stadium blitzer and the only change from the original was the esc. Wouldn't surprise me if a re-re clod just came with and esc but still have the plastic bearings and same motors. Nice to know when color scheme they would use. I always liked the clod but was just to big for my liking. I might think about a re-re though. -
Did Your Parent Buy You A Tamiya Kit As A Child?
bx4525 replied to Melly's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Found this old post and found it interesting since I only joined a few months ago. I am 34 yrs old now but I remember a buddy of mine owning an rc magazine about 23-24 years ago and talked me to death about a truck called Midnight Pumpkin he wanted. I thought it was nice but saw the prices of those trucks and knew my parents will never get one for me. I looked for the cheapest one and looked at the Lunchbox because I did not want to get my friend upset by buying the Midnight Pumpkin. A neighborhood friend already had the Blackfoot so I woudln't get that one. So I read that the Monster Beetle was almost the same as blackfoot so I looked into getting the beetle. I begged and begged and my parents would not budge. I got so desperate that I asked my grandparents and although it was not easy my grandfather gave my mom $200 US dollars so I can get my monster beetle. So in late 1987 my older sister takes me to a hobby store and I was the happiest kid in the planet. The hobby store was so far and I was about 11 years old and I did not care how far the walk and commute was. Took the box to my friends house who introduced me to the whole rc world. He was about 3 yrs older and helped me build the truck that Saturday afternoon. We had my beetle running around 12-1am sunday morning. LOL The shell was left white and no stickers were added as it was too late to be up as it was. I now have recently restored my 23 year old monster beetle with a fresh and neat paint job. Something an 11 year old could not do. LOL I added new repro stickers and some hop ups but has to much value and just keep it as a shelf queen. Now that I have the time and some money I am re-living my childhood and own a King Blackfoot, Re-re 2010 Stadium Blitzer, and my custom Blitzer Beetle. Needed to my collection is the Lunchbox, Original Blackfoot, and a Clod Buster (just think they are too big LOL). FYI, my buddy never did own a Midnight Pumpkin over the years so maybe I should get one and ******* him off. LOL -
Selling a Super/King Blackfoot complete gearbox in very nice shape ready to install. Has been cleaned up and re-greased. Does not have ball bearings. Asking $30 U.S. shipping only.

Anyone have any spare E-Ring Circlips part # BC5? The tiny clips that clip onto the front and rear damper shafts? I could use one or two if anyone has. Never mind guys got some from Team CRP Those **** clips are a pain in the azz.

I cut my first lexan body this weekend and I must say it was not fun. LOL Do you guys find it to be better to use an exacto blade for the wheel wells or just the curved scissors?
-
Hi guys I have a Thunder AC6 charger and could use some advice on the voltage setting when charging and discharging a lipo 20cell and 25 cell. I don't want to blow the house up. LOL Also for nimh would charge and discharge at 1.0 - 1.3?

I was about to order a ezrun 60amp with a tacon 4420kv motor. Tacon does not label number of turns on their motors. Most of my trucks will be on road/street driven anyway. Maybe the 60amp will be ok?
-
Thanks Stu. Just saw that on hobbypartz. Guess that answers my question.
-
Hey guys what would be the max motor kv a 60amp ezrun or xerun esc's can handle? Would a 4400kv motor and 60amp ezrun esc be ok? A 5200kv would no doubt need a 120amp correct?
-
Are the blitzers better suited for 540 sized motors or can they handle a smalller higher revving 380? Whats the max kv they can hanble? I know they are very light but is a 5000kv 540 overkill?
