  1. Good to hear man. I'm not sure which way to go just yet as I finished building the car only a two weeks ago. I would like to see what I can do about getting me a LiPo and a charger for it. With the cold weather and me running it outside, I'm lucky to get 10 mins out of the tower hobbies batt.
  2. Yep I got it, the pinion and motor turns I understand now. You answered my question for motor choices with the stock ESC. Tamiya Sport Tuned and the Dirt Tuned. Now I've gotta decide between the two.
  3. Not to sound completely lazy, but in a nut shell, which motor can I run with the stock ESC that will provide me with some more speed and fun? Right now I'm running the 15T that came with the kit.
  4. Plus the aluminum wheel hubs from tamiya based on the research i've been doing. **I'd also love to get some anodized red 12mm hex adaptors to go with my red/white theme
  5. Now that's one thing I'd like to upgrade on the hotshot. The steering. It's got a weak turning radius.
  6. Gotcha, so no need for a screw at all than if i'm following here.
  7. TTT- I didn't wanna start off a new thread relating to the same question so I'm brining this one up from the dead. Can I run the super stock motors on my hotshot and will I have to change the ESC?
  8. Good luck on the projects, I think the LiPo would definitely be good to have as an upgrade. I know if I get the brushless setup I'd have to change the esc and do all of that again, therefore tear the car apart again. I'm starting to like the dirt tuned tamiya motor. Any opinions on it?
  9. That's pretty neat man. What is the TT01 upgrade? I don't know what else to do to this car besides give it a more powerfull motor. Would a Lipo do anything speed wise?
  10. Thanks a lot man, appreciate the efforts with the pic too. I was actually thinking of this last night.....why do I even need to take the battery out for? It doesn't make a lot of sense. The only thing I might do is upgrade to a LIPO unit.
  11. Correct me if I got this wrong- every time you change/take the batt out you will need to replace the screw that holds on of the doors that hold the battery in place?
  12. No quite. My account here got suspended for two weeks for a bizzare reason. As I mentioned in the PM, I'm in business and I love this car. A small amount of snow and some ice really make for a wicked time in an empty parking lot. Does anyone know what I need in order to run my DF03 wheels?
  13. Slightly off topic, does tamiya offer a finished hotshot body? Cut, painted, etc.
  14. Than you'd never have to fiddle around with those little clips anymore too.
  15. Does anyone know where I could find a heatsink to fit my hotshot without altering/cutting the car? I'm also looking at making some sort of an undercarriage shield such as the supershot had. My only issue with that one is how do you get the battery out?
  16. Hey guys, I'm in need of some help here before I go on with finishing the rest of my car off. I programmed the ESC with the Futaba receiver and everything works well. She goes forward, turns, and *reverses. (the only thing I noticed with reverse is that it won't engage RIGHT away if I'm going full throttle forward than mash reverse, it appears I have to put it in neutral than hit reverse. Can't just go full forward than full reverse. Normal? My second question is something of greater concern. When I turn the controller off, the car will go forward at full speed!! This can't be normal, can it? I really need some assistance folks. This is my first real R/C. Thank you in advance.
  17. It's going real well so far (knock on wood) I connected the esc with my controlled and everything seems to be OK except one lil thing. I noticed that when I go full throttle forward, than immediately hit reverse, it isn't instant, there appears to be a delay before the motor start going in reverse. I dont know if this is a safety mechanism so the gearbox doesn't grenade?
  18. False alarm guys, I made a pretty *stupid* error to say the least anyways- I've got a question regarding the front gearbox assembly. I put it all together, attached the left and right sides, done like dinner. I don't know if it has some sort of a LSD system or what? When I turn the axel joint with my hand, I can see the other two joints moving, but than when I hold one of them down (while still turning the axel) the other side still keeps on turning? I thought that due to the gears inside, this wouldn't be so? Did I mess up?
  19. The only way for me to describe it is that the screws simply aren't doing their job. They for some reason, wont go into the motor side, to hold it against the trans. I swear I'm now doubting myself as to the lenght of the screws I'm using. Thanks for your help man, and please keep it coming!
  20. Hey guys, I edited this thread and now I've got a question regarding the FRONT gear box(rear is all resolved) I put it all together, attached the left and right sides, done like dinner. I don't know if it has some sort of a LSD system or what? When I turn the axel joint with my hand, I can see the other two joints moving, but than when I hold one of them down (while still turning the axel) the other side still keeps on turning? I thought that due to the gears inside, this wouldn't be so? Did I mess
  21. Car cleared customs yesterday at 9:15AM. I'm hoping to have it here this week....
  22. What are some of the best rc magazines out there? I know the net has great info and endless info, but sometimes its just nice to have it in print right in your lap.
  23. Definitely. But first the hotshot needs to arrive and be built.
  24. Definitely a sharp kit tho Greg! Just google it.
